Soon after, Dr. Mutyala was chosen for a prominent fellowship training in laser and cornea surgery under the direction of the doctor who performed the first laser vision correction surgeries in the world, Dr. Marguerite McDonald. As a Bausch & Lomb, Allegretto, Intralase, VISX, Alcon LadarVision, Summit, and Nidek EC-5000 laser certified surgeon, he continues to stay involved in clinical research for advanced laser procedures.
