Dr. Thomas Chang MD

Front desk ladies could have been more helpful, clear and descriptive when discussing my visit. Poor communication at times. Had to push them to re-review my insurance for proper coverage. Disliked waiting; have a full-time job and the visit was longer than necessary. Doctor himself was fine, efficient.

Visit was fine, but he seemed to be overbooked. I didn't see him until 45 minutes after my scheduled time and the waiting room didn't have enough room for everyone waiting for the single doctor. He is an MD, not an optometrist, so I'd definitely go see him again for an appointment.

Intelligent, personable, and thorough. His office is cramped but he keeps patients moving efficiently and briskly without being brusque.

It is in my opinion that Dr. Chang is a highly skilled specialist. I believe that he just needs a little assistance being that he is the only specialist of that kind in that area.

As soon as I entered the exam room,Dr. Chang drilled me on whether I knew the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist, which I found to be extremely condescending. He wanted to make it clear that I was seeing a real medical doctor, and thought for some reason that I would assume he was only an optometrist. His attitude towards me was very rude, and I have never been spoken to by a doctor like that before. I would have rather gone to an optometrist without an ego! He didn't ask me how I was or any common niceties when I entered the room. After lecturing me about the difference between himself ( a real medical doctor), and an optometrist he then asked if my five year old niece had to be in the exam room with me. It was a very uncomfortable experience given how our interaction began. I also feel like my exam was rushed and was scared to ask the doctor questions because he seemed very impatient. The office staff, on the other hand, is very sweet and helpful.

Dr. Chang was thorough and very knowledgeable and his staff were friendly and helpful.

Dr. Chang is perfectly pleasant and thorough, but his receptionists are not. After waiting 45 minutes for my 9 a.m. appointment, I politely inquired with the receptionist, who promptly barked at me "you're next!" No "sorry, we're running behind" or anything that indicated she recognized making a patient wait for nearly an hour for a scheduled appointment was not acceptable. That's really all it would have taken - a simple "sorry - this is not how we like to do things."

Very good, thorough, knowledgeable eye doctor.
