Dr. Timothy Downey joined Chester County Otolaryngology and Allergy Associates in 2009 bringing with him a wealth of experience. Originally from Nebraska,
he received his medical degree from Creighton University and then served our country in the Army for 13+ years. He has cared for patients of all ages in the military and now locally. His career has involved teaching other physicians, research/publications, local/national presentations, and various leadership positions in the Army and its hospitals. He achieved board certification in 2002 and re-certified in 2012.
Dr. Downey treats ear disorders such as dizziness/vertigo, hearing loss, and tinnitus, and performs ear surgeries such as ear tube placement, repairing eardrum perforations, and middle ear surgery. His audiologists provide hearing loss and dizziness evaluations and hearing aids. Dr. Downey is a drummer and understands noise induced hearing loss; therefore he provides musician and occupational hearing protection devices. Dr. Downey also cares for the nose and sinuses and provides treatment of allergies, allergy skin testing, allergy shots and oral drops, and cutting edge surgeries such as Balloon Sinuplasty and Image Guided Navigation Sinus Surgery. He treats all types of head/neck cancers to include skin, throat, thyroid, salivary gland and others.
Dr. Downey’s patients have described him as having an excellent bed-side manner, listens well, attentive, detailed and thorough.
Dr. Downey enjoys time with his wife (an Army Oral Surgeon), son and daughter; playing drums and tennis; running; listening to his family play the piano; any Philly sports team; and Nebraska Cornhusker Football!!! …
