Dr. Tyler Baars hails from Ludington, Michigan and graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry with the distinction of being part of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. During his time there, he completed four rotations across the country in Louisville, San Antonio, Bloomington (IN), and Chicago. Apart from receiving excellent training from skilled optometrists and ophthalmologists in primary care, contact lenses, and disease management, he discovered a true love for Chicago and its people. He is committed to providing all patients with quality and efficient care with the latest optometric pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Baars is a current member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Illinois Optometric Association.
With Dr. Baars, I.D. Chicago combines professional design and optical services with product retailing, interior consultations and a real estate brokerage into a one stop shop for people wanting a modern, responsible lifestyle. We are honored to be one of the only stores in the country to offer the complete line of eyeglasses and sunglasses by Tom Ford. Also, we have a passion for supporting local eyewear designers and artisans that use sustainable materials such as handmade wooden eyeglasses by Drift, as well as other custom designed spectacles. Our goal is to provide you with a well designed lifestyle allowing you to LIVE WHO YOU ARE.
