Patient Reviews for Dr. V. Larisa Mashensky - MD
Awesome. Will see her again.
Dr. Larisa made me feel completely comfortable and at ease, she asked questions without prying and made me feel important and cared for. I will gladly go back to Dr. Larisa and work with her as my primary care physician.
Dr. Mashensky is amazing. Her bedside manner is perfect. She is kind, caring, and always asking questions to make sure I am healthy and when I am not feeling well, she always knows the solution.
My appointment was scheduled for 12:45...after waiting for 40 minutes, I went up the reception desk and asked if I was going to be seen anytime soon. The girl at the desk said "I can take you now" So if I hadn't said anything was she going to make me wait even longer??? Once she took me into the room, which looked like her office with a bed in it, I had to wait another 10 minutes in there. I'm not joking when I say I read about 100 pages in the book that I brought. All I needed was to get a new prescription and it took like 5 minutes and I knew it wouldn't take long so I was upset at how long I had to wait. Not only did I have to wait long before speaking with Mashensky, I paid with credit card and apparently it uses the same line as their printer...someone was printing a 10 page document, which I didn't mind except for the fact that it took probably 40 seconds to print 1 page...so it took another 10 minutes to finally get my credit card through and sign the stub. Overall, the experience was not great, office dingy...I only went because I needed an appointment for the very next day and she was the only one available, all the good doctors were taken apparently.
If I had the choice I'd definently go somewhere else, not totally horrible but just a few things happened that could have been avoided
Dr. Mashensky is the best. She is considerate and she cares a lot about her patients.
Highly competent doctor and office staff. No wait time.
Dr. Mashensky is really wonderful. She is always asking very important questions and really knows how to help people feel better. I would highly recommend her to anyone. I do suggest to call to book your appointment. It seems sometimes the Zocdoc system doesn't match theirs.
Physician and her Staff are superbly thorough, competent, and professional.
I saw her for a physical, she was very attentive. By far the most attentive doctor I have seen in NYC. I guess the true test will be if I need to see her for something else during the course of the year; but so far so good.
It was very nice she took time to ask and answer questions
there was not much of a wait and she did ever thing i need her to check on
Dr. Mashensky was very kind and made me feel comfortable.
The office is old, outdated, and does not inspire confidence. I was not even greeted by staff, but luckily I was able to find a sign-in sheet. Dr. Mashensky herself was cold and uninviting. The search for a primary care physician continues.
Great doctor, highly recommend. She is very thorough.
I thought she was a good doctor. She was very thorough and asked a lot of good, relevant questions. The wait time was a little long, but otherwise it was very positive.
Dr Mashensky was very nice and informed me in detail about the condition I was visiting her for. She took a detailed history and was happy to help me with my problem, as well as asking me to follow up with her in a week to see my progress.
Dr. Mashensky is a great doctor. She is thorough, knowledgeable, & cares about her patients. If you are in a rush or are a "chop, chop" type of person, then you might want to try another doctor. Her administrative team is not so great. Upon arrival, 5 minutes before my appointment, the receptionist told me to take a seat. As a new patient, I know that I would need to fill out paper work & for them to verify insurance. They did not hand me any forms or took my insurance card. They were socializing & talking about their weekend & proceeding with their normal tasks. It was until 25 minutes later, that the doctor's assistant came out & gave me a new patient's form to fill out. It took another 20-25 minutes for her to verify my insurance. Then I was taken to the doctor's check-up room. I waited about another 15 minutes, until the doctor's assistant took down general information about myself & drew blood for my physical. It was about 10 minutes later that I finally saw the doctor. I think she is a very nice person, she was thorough & checked everything out with a complete physical. She is very knowledgeable & had answers to all my questions. But she should fire all her receptionist & get new ones. If you can fix them, replace them!
Good experience I would recommend her.
She is very thorough and great. Highly recommend.
She is very good doctor i would recommend her to everybody.
Office space is small, tight and somewhat uncomfortable(office shares space with a physical therapy group). Receptionist was on personal call and was distracted from assisting me when I arrived and wasn't pleasant. Doctor's assistant was nice. Doctor M is professional, calm and spent a good amount of time asking questions and listening to me. Having said that, she is too serious. If you check out her picture you can almost hear the photographer say, "Smile, Larisa, smile." A doctor who offers an occasional smile makes me feel relaxed. That's just me. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but she's not a keeper. Heads up: some of these ratings are total bogus. Buyer beware.
She is v sweet and caring She gave me a complete phisical and prescribed antibiotics for my condition V convenient location close to midtown,my work place
My appoinment with larisa Mashensky was graet.I satisfied highly. She is very experienced doctor.
Dr. is excellent. Her office support staff and the general office environment seem a little unprofessional and a little run down.
It took a long time before they asked for my information as I was a new patient, and very long time before I even saw the doctor. But once I was in, she gave me all her attention and wasn't rushing anything and was very helpful in anything I asked. The conversation with her was a lot better than previous doctors who just come in, prescribe, and go out. With her, we talked about my symptoms, my options, and she seemed to genuinely want me to get better. Will go again if I have more time on my hands. Do not recommend going during your lunch break as it took me an hour and a half total at the office.
Very nice,very professional
This experience has been awful.I would not be able to recommend this office to anyone.
She spent a lot of time with me and answered all my questions. Her office staff was very considerate and professioanl.
Besides things being a bit hectic in the office (i.e. having to wait 45 min to be seen even when I was a new patient AND arriving 30 min before my appointment) Dr. Mashensky seems to do a good job and has a pleasant although quiet, demeanor. She didn't just give me a script right away but instead told me to wait and see if I got any better. The office is a bit unprofessional at times but if you can overlook that, Dr. Mashensky is a good choice for a primary care doctor.
I loved her the moment I layed eyes on her. She just looked so professional. I first I was nervous. But, once she started talking to me it was GREAT. She was VERY through with the exam and follow
This was my first visit with Dr. Mashensky. I hadn't been to a doctor in almost 4 years. After suffering from a bad cold for days I scheduled an appointment for help. She performed a very thorough set of background questions and prescribed a some medications for my cold as well as other ailments that have been troubling me. I had the sense the she was genuinely concerned with my health and I appreciated the additional effort she made to help me locate doctors for my other issues.
The office was dirty and the office staff was rude.
Excellent, professional! Explains a lot what I could not understand. Prescribes vital vitamins and pills, makes sure my insurance covers. Always fights for my health. Additionally, she is young and has recent technological knowledge in medicine, not just like those old doctors with old technology. Highly recommend her to anyone. Just visit her and make sure to keep her as your primacy physician.
I waited 3 minutes only, and it was to fill out insurance paper work, since it was my first visit. She is extremely polite, excellently talented when it comes to examining my health. She is aware of a lot, not like many other doctors who claim to have a narrowed knowledge and answer to your 95 questions with "I don't know, it is not my expertise". If that's the case, then you are not a primary physician! My previous family doctor would ask a lot, yet not always successful to make correct diagnoses. Previous doctor used to send me to lots of other doctors per my single visit. I thought it was a kind of game to charge insurance more. Dr. Mashensky seems more professional. She knows exactly what happened and prescribes vital pills. I was asking about ENT doctor due to pain in my left ear. She immediately called several doctors, found out next day availability and confirmed he excepted my insurance. She even prescribed 3 pills and vitamin to support my immunity. Usually, I don't judge doctors at first visit. However, Dr. Mashensky left a very positive image even during my first visit. I did tell about her to my wife and brother's family. They all switched to Dr. Mashensky as their primary doctor. By the way, she was the only doctor accepted my rare insurance on 42nd Street in Manhattan, rich doctors usually don't care about minor insurances. I highly recommend her to anyone.
She got me to the right specialist immediately for my broken finger bone and she personally, checked up with me by phone and in person after I went to the speicalist to make sure I was okay.
Terrific doctor. Very knowledgeable, patient and approachable. Answered a lot of questions and provided additional feedback. Office is very pleasant, as well. Highly recommended!
