Amazing!

I always rely upon on-line reviews, and if I had read only the reviews of Dr. Dorfman that appeared on other sites, I would never have booked an appointment with him. He received just one star and was bad-mouthed beyond imagination. I have lived most of my life in Massachusetts and was fortunate to have had the most intelligent, caring, and supportive psychiatrist. Because of emergency family circumstances, I was forced to relocate to Miami Beach, FL and have been unable to find a psychiatrist here who not only takes my insurance but who is also very competent. For example, one doctor I saw took me off the anti-anxiety medicine I have been taking for years. As a result, I had to face flying on an airplane and having surgery without medication to help me and had disastrous results. I have studied meditation, yoga, and went through a desensitization program for phobias to finally be able to drive, but I still needed medication. Many members of my immediate and extended family suffer from phobias and anxiety disorders. I have never abused drugs or alcohol. When I explained to Dr. Dorfman that the psychiatrist I had seen in Miami had taken me off anti-anxiety medication, Dr. Dorfman agreed that this is not only dangerous for a patient but also unconscionable. Yes, some people abuse drugs, but those of us who need medication should not be discriminated against. This was my first visit with Dr. Dorfman, and he spent nearly an hour with me. He listened and took notes about my family history. I had complete confidence in my former psychiatrist, and I am sure Dr. Dorfman will prove competent and intelligent as well.
