At Rego Park Family Physicians we practice comprehensive medical care with over 20 years experience treating both adults and children. We have expertise in treating a variety of medical conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and lung conditions, intestinal and urinary problems, arthritis, gyn exams, and pap smears. We offer our patients the convenience of having Echo/ECG, ultrasound, bone density scans, spirometry, holter monitoring, and emg tests performed on site. Dr. Rubinshteyn and her staff are perfectly nice people and generally there wasn't anything glaringly bad. However, I did find myself a bit frustrated on a few levels. I didn't think I was able to clearly communicate my concerns, nor did I think the staff's responses to my questions were particularly clear or reassuring. I also received a follow-up call, and the person handling the call expressed a bit of frustration at my questions and repeatedly requested that I come in for a follow-up consultation. Generally I have no problem doing so, but my issue is that I had no sense of how urgent or important the things they were noting were, which is a somewhat concerning/annoying position to be in. I probably would not return to this office again -- not because it's unpleasant or because the staff is incompetent but just because it's too much of a hassle to get clear and simple answers. I think it's at least partially due to a cultural/language barrier, which might not be as much of an issue for someone who speaks the native tongue of the staff here (which I think is Russian).
The wait time was too long and there was only one medical assistant doing preliminary assessments and taking samples. I saw Dr. Rubinshteyn face-to-face for maybe 2-3 minutes.
