My visit was nothing short of excellent. I made an appointment around 3:00 am using the ZocDoc app because I was having trouble sleeping due to my right ear being sore and clogged with wax for the past few weeks. I've always heard the using Q-tips in the ear is a no-no, but I was desperately trying to get some relief from my clogged up ear so I broke this rule with no relief at all; if anything I think I made it worse. When I arrived at the office today, the receptionists were nice and professional took my insurance info and immediately got me into their system. I waited less than 5 minutes before being seen by Dr Lee. He was very friendly and attentive to my issue. I told him the issues I was having with my ear and he immediately took a look at my nose and ear using a camera scope. I was able to see everything he saw and I immediately saw how bad my wax build up was in my ear. He explained everything I was seeing and was able to clear out my right ear. He then looked at my left ear as well which to my surprise was also blocked up bad which he cleaned as well. He also saw some infection in my ear canal and prescribed me some antibiotics to clear it up, as well as a nasal spray to help me with my nose breathing due to my septum being misaligned. During the appointment, Dr. Lee told me that using Q-tips to try to clean the ear is not a good idea and could be very dangerous. After seeing first hand how close my ear drum was to the opening of my ear, I am thankful I didn't cause any damage when I was poking around in there these past couple of days. From now on, I'll let him do it. I am very thankful for Dr Lee, and glad I didn't have to go one more day feeling like I was underwater and was prescribed some medication to help with my infection. I can finally hear clearly again!!
