This is a long review so just stay with me for a moment. This was honestly the best experience I've ever had in a medical environment, and as a graduate student in the health field and daughter of parents in the medical field as well, I can attest to seeing hundreds of hours of medical care. From the moment I walked in the door until the moment I left, I was nothing but impressed with how well things flowed. The first thing I noticed was how nice, clean, and spacious the office was. Believe me, it makes a difference. Dr. Bender and her staff were prompt, courteous, and respectful. I didn't have to wait at all. I had already filled out my med history on the Zoc Doc app, but they had already printed it out and had the 3 tiny additional forms for me to sign on a clipboard waiting for me when I got there. Crazy! (I can't tell you how many doctors I've been to throughout my life who have misplaced the information, ask you to fill out everything again, and make you wait in the waiting area while they get their %*#* together because they haven't adequately pre-planned their day.) Dr. Bender took me back and started my regular annual exam (which was thorough but quick, might I add). The sensation of an eyedrop (I'm guessing something that dilated my pupil) coupled with the light that she was examining my eye with started to make me feel woozy. (Note: it was NOT because of anything she was doing. I passed out once before when the exact thing happened several years ago. It's a vasovagal response.) To my horror, I ended up fainting on the exam room floor - I was so embarrassed! I quickly came to, and she was quite concerned and attentive to my needs, as well as the staff. I felt bad for laying there sweating on the floor (lol, I don't even want to know how it looked) and I didn't want to mess up her other appointment times, but I felt too disoriented to even stand up. She assured me to take as much time as I needed and would not leave my side until she was certain that I was absolutely okay. After I could sit up, she suggested that I lay down for a while on her couch in her personal office, and had a very pleasant colleague sit in with me until my boyfriend arrived (they had already called my emergency contact- they're so on the ball) as not to leave me alone in case anything happened. Office staff continuously monitored and asked if I needed anything to feel better- juice, food, water, etc. Finally my nausea and disorientation subsided enough for me to walk, and while at the front desk, after paying for the visit, she gave me a small box of sweets- brownies, a few pieces of cake, and some other insanely delicious-looking items. It even had a cute little sticker on the front of the box that said they were made by Dr. Bender herself! I'm not sure if it's sometbing she usually does or if it was for the holidays, or because I passed out...but it was incredibly thoughtful! So...yes...long story made too long: I would give this entire office more than 5 stars if I could. I will definitely be returning to see Dr. Bender and her wonderful staff. They are held and recommended with very high regard. PS: That's supposed to mean a lot, because I can be kind-of nit picky. :)
