Two days prior to my appointment with Dr. Mohajer I had a horrible experience with another Gastroenterologist so I went online to read reviews of doctors before I made another appointment. Dr. Mohajer has excellent reviews...and not just from a few patients. He had 5 stars across the board. Except from this one guy who gave him a 1 and wrote a very angry review about not being able to make an appointment on a Friday afternoon or something. Either Dr. Mohajer or someone from his staff responded, apologizing for the experience. Now the 5 star reviews pushed me into his direction but the fact that he (they) took the time to respond (kindly) to a raging Yelp review sealed the deal for me. Maybe it's because I work in marketing so I'm extra sensitive to little customer service things like that, I don't know. But I called to make an appointment and got in right away. I walked into the office and the front desk staff welcomed me warmly. I was 15 min early for my appointment in case I had to fill out paperwork but I hadn't even been sitting for 5 minutes before Dr. Mohajer came to get me...before my appointment time! How often do you see that in doctor's offices?! I was a little surprised there was no paperwork but soon saw that was because Dr. Mohajer sat with me in his office, taking my medical history from me directly and asking/answering questions along the way. He has a very kind demeanor and I was immediately put at ease...despite the pain I was in and the horrible experience I had had the previous day with another doctor. I also knew (despite my previous experiences) that I could trust what he said and the treatment he recommended for me...and that what he was suggesting wasn't just to get as much treatment money as possible out of me. As it turns out, he conferred with the first doc I had (Dr. Mohajer was my 3rd opinion...now I know to just come straight here!) which meant surgery, which he doesn't do. He could have easily recommended that he do a scope first to see if there was anything else going on. That would've been money in his pocket. But nope...he said he was very confident that surgery was the solution. I remember thinking to myself that I wish HE did surgery because I knew I'd be in the best hands for that as well. I left the office feeling believed, listened to and confident of what I needed to do next. Save yourself the frustration, time and money and visit him first thing if you need a Gastroenterologist. Don't leave him to be your 2nd (or 3rd!) opinion.
