What is a Physical Therapist?
A physical therapist helps patients restore normal movement to parts of their bodies that have been affected by injury or illness. Physical therapists help patients dealing with back pain, Parkinson’s disease, osteoarthritis, pulmonary disease, skin burns, heart problems, and more. Physical therapists develop treatment plans for each patient to restore balance and strength, and to reduce pain. Treatments include therapeutic exercise, the use of heat and cold, and electrical stimulation.
