Practice Statement

Our focus is on women's unique needs. Women comprise over one half of the U.S. population and are at the heart of family health care. Women's health is affected by all of the factors that touch a women's life- her family, relationships, work environment, spiritual values, and community. Research over the last two decades has supported the fact that women respond differently to wellness and disease than do men, and that gender-focused health assessment, education, and interventions are necessary for women to be as healthy as possible.
