The Metropolitan Foot & Ankle Group is dedicated to quality foot & ankle health care for individuals and families in the New York metropolitan area. We are foot & ankle surgeons and podiatric specialists with emphasis on the treatment of all lower extremity problems. We believe that evidence-based medicine, prompt diagnosis, early intervention, and prevention are essential for the care and treatment of your foot and ankle.
We offer comprehensive care of foot & ankle conditions. We are experts in foot & ankle surgery but will often take a conservative, non-surgical, approach in treating your condition before considering surgery.
We specialize in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle including bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, high arched feet, arthritis, treatment of athletic injuries, torn tendons and ligaments, fractures, biomechanical analysis and functional orthotic fabrication, diabetes related foot problems, wound care, medical and laser treatments of fungal infections, integrative and regenerative medicine, PRP, stem cell therapy, and amniotic tissue supplementation.
We also specialize in the foot and ankle needs of children, athletes, runners, and dancers.

For years I'd been suffering from ingrown toenails, and thank God, he placed an angel in my path after seeing many podiatrists. Dr. Marcus Shapiro is the angel God sent me. Today March 13. was my first appointment. He examined me, listened to me carefully, and explained the procedure to resolve my ingrown toenails. I was nervous, but Dr. Shapiro is very professional and a very humorous and friendly person who made me feel good. He performed the procedure. I barely felt the injection, and thank God I'll be able to rest from my ingrown toenails. I highly recommend him 100%. He's a very compassionate doctor with a big heart. Thank you, Dr. Shapiro.
