"I'll start at the beginning. Dr. Richardson's web site is top notch and covered all my questions, specifically about paying out of pocket. There's no line item pricing, which is to be expected, but the page went the length to explain the process, at least. Booking online was the greatest--first derm I could get in to see quickly (2 days!) and could schedule myself/didn't have to wait forever on the phone to be told I could not get in till November. Truly pleased by that. At the visit: front desk staff, nursing staff, and the doctor herself were all the best experiences with each I've ever had. I loathe going to the doctor, so this was a totally lovely surprise. Can't say enough good things. The facilities are a step up from most--nice, modern design, clean wait room with plenty of refreshments. That stuff definitely does not hurt! Staff went above and beyond for me with an insurance question as I checked in. They called my insurance on a question they did not think was right (were certain my HR misinformed me) and found a way to ultimately save me some money. All of their own volition. I really appreciated that the front desk spent nearly my whole visit on the phone at bat for me. They definitely didn't have to do that, but I loved that they care about their jobs enough to. I honestly don't remember much about the nurse because the doctor came in so quickly. Sorry nurse, I'm sure you were great! Oh and sonos speakers playing Hozier for the half second I did wait? I'm okay with this. Dr. Richardson spent more time with me than I would have ever expected. She did not make me feel rushed and did not rush herself. How she keeps a busy office with such little wait time going and manages to spend time with her patients, I'll probably never understand. Maybe she's a witch. But it was great, and it really left an impression upon me. I've been to doctors before where it was pretty clear they weren't the sharpest, but this was not one of those. She's clearly whip smart, and that gives me comfort. Also, she is incredibly sweet and made me laugh at myself. I loved it! And when I say she spent more time with me than I ever expected, I mean she gave my issue a good first and second look to be sure, then talked me through what she saw, explained what she thought had probably happened, and offered solutions to a problem that I wasn't even initially concerned about. She offered to call me in a topical to the compound pharmacy across the street, told me what kind of wait time to expect, and also was knowledgeable about pricing (and whether insurance was likely to cover it). That is the kind of expertise I want in a doctor, and she nailed it! Moreover, when I was at the front desk paying for my visit, staff asked a nurse for confirmation that my prescription had been called in. She checked, confirmed, then talked me through the process of picking it up and made sure I knew what I was doing. It's like they care or something. I look forward to my next visit, should I need one. Honestly, I'll probably look into cosmetic visits now. "
