If a woman has varicose veins, can it affect her ability to become pregnant?
has varicose veins....are this affect to become pregnant?
That is an excellent question and one that I suggest you discuss with your primary care doctor or OB-GYN as they will be best able to evaluate your medical history and physical examination and determine the answer to your question. In general, varicose veins are a common finding as we get older in our legs and are not associated with any conditions that should affect pregnancy. In general, varicose veins are noted in older people and there are conditions that can occur in babies who are born to women of advanced age. Since it is not possible to know from the history given your age or other related medical problems, it is best that you are evaluated by a primary care doctor or OB/GYN who can evaluate your entire medical history and decide what, if any, associated conditions you have that will affect your ability to become pregnant or have a healthy child. If you are unhappy with the look of varicose veins, you may also consider seeing a plastic surgeon or dermatologist who can suggest treatment options for those varicose veins. These treatment options usually are associated with minimal pain and patients are often very happy with the results.
