The doctor was very professional and had a pleasant demeanor. She worked thoroughly through the procedures and kept me informed.
Dr. She ask is very personable and caring. I couldn't ask for a better dentist. She's also very knowledgable and first class in her field.
Love Dr Samira!
I am not a fan of going to the dentist, but I found this dentist to be great. She listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. Highly recommend.
I was referred to her by a coworker for my broken teeth after my work related accident. Dr. Shenassi was very professional, kind and took her time to explain what I needed. She took care of my pain and crown work went well.Today received all my crowns and I couldn't be any happier.
Dr. Shenasi and team are the best of the best. Their respective medical and professional expertise, kind and courteous manner and state of the art facility are just a few of the reasons I repeatedly return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for high quality healthcare!
This place is amazing! I came back for a regular cleaning. Unfortunately looks like cavity strikes again. Fortunately, I was able to get it taken care of immediately. Dr. Samira was gentle and numb me up just the right amount so the procedure was painless. Which really made what could have been a terrible day pretty good. This certainly makes going to the dentist actually enjoyable. Also kudos to the front desk staff and the hygienist who did my cleaning, very professional and spot on customer service.
Dr Shenasi was super nice and sympathetic given that I was a new patient and in for an emergency. My biggest fear and frustration with dental professionals has always been the "judgment" that I don't do well enough in my dental care. She did none of this. Instead she was understanding and compassionate.
Excellent knowledgeable professional
Dr. Shenasi was very professional, efficient and detailed in her assessment. Her staff are incredibly nice and helpful as well as professional. I went in for a cleaning and was called back on time and very quickly. The cleaning was thorough and painless. The only negative was that I kind of felt like I was getting sold on different procedures/electric tooth brushes, etc. that I may not necessarily need. Otherwise, the office was very clean and lovely.
The entire group (dentist, oral surgeon, and patient coordinator-Jonathan) exceeded my expectations. They made what would normally be a painful experience, an absolute pleasure.
I cane in for a crown, and all the staff were wonderful and respectful!
It was a good visit. I never have any problems when I go to this office. I enjoy the hospitality when I am there. Everyone is so nice.
Excellent professional. Outstanding.
Dr. Samira was very professional. Would definitely recommend Soft Touch Dentists
Dr. Shenasi and her staff were perfectly pleasant, but this is absolutely an overpriced dentist. I was charged ridiculous amounts of money for a cleaning (barely a cleaning, in my opinion) and xrays. Overall, the experience didn't leave me with a good feeling. And after receiving a second opinion, I need only half of the fillings that Dr. Shenasi insisted I did.
They where amazing, accommodating and polite. Great work as well and painless.
Great visit! in and out very fast and didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. Dr. Shenazi and her staff did an amazing job with my new crown.
Great experience with our 7 year old. Dr. Shenasi has a professional, friendly staff. Great facility. Immediately put my child at ease and have been great about answering our questions and concerns. We truly enjoy taking my daughter here. Not only is Dr. Shenasi so sweet but she is very patient. She knows exactly what she is doing and great with kids! Also her assistant/hygienist is amazing! I wish we lived closer to the her practice, but well worth making the trip downtown for such wonderful service!
Dr. Shenasi is awesome! She is always very professional. She cares about the oral health of her patient's and always conducts a thorough examination and personally performs her patient's cleanings. All of the staff in Dr. Shenasi's office are also extremely professional and friendly. They remember my name and always make me feel comfortable. There is never a long wait time. I highly recommend Dr. Shenasi's office.
Awful. My 5 year old daughter had an 8:30 appointment to get a filling. We were not seen until 9. Because of this I had to leave out for approximately 5-10 minutes to feed the parking meter. When I came back the dentist had already started trying to give a 5 yr old a filling without her parent(s) there. Unacceptable! I walked in and saw my daughter crying and being held down while the dentist was attempting to stick her for the second time to numb her gums. This was my daughter's first filling so any dentist should know that a 5 yr old was not going to cooperate when you stick a needle in her gum. Common sense should tell you that it would be best to wait until her dad returned, she's 5! To make matters worse, the dentist looked at me with a frustrated look on her face and said she isn't cooperating. I looked at her and asked are you surprised?! I was able to calm my daughter down so that they could proceed with the filling. My daughter was still upset and crying a little during the process. The dentist had the audacity to tell her "oh no, we don't cry and make noise here, you're going to scare away the other patients"... really?! That was the last straw. We will not be coming back! If you have young children do not take them here!!!
Her recommendation for treatment was much more conservative than needed; i.e., suggested more treatment. Also, the treatments were overly priced.
What a pleasure!!!! Everyone was helpful, gracious and pleasant. My kids and I got our teeth cleaned really good. I've found a dentist fir my family!!!!
El personal muy amable y es grato que hablen español, todo muy bien y agradable, estoy feliz que me puedan atender tan rápido y bien.
I should have known, as I got bad vibes from everyone I interacted with in this office. If she tells you to get a crown, please get a second opinion! Dr. Shenassi makes it seem like a standard procedure, described to me as " exactly the same" as filling a cavity. Being unfamiliar with the procedure, I was not aware my entire tooth would be filed down! By the time I realized this, it was too late. This is my fault, as I should have done my research. Months after the procedure, my tooth is more sensitive than it was before with the small cavity I was trying to fix. If they tell you to get a crown, just say no!! This is how they make m0ney. The services are way overpr!ced, and I was overch@rged. Please go somewhere else.
I really like Dr. Shenasi and her team a great deal. I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes to be brought back into a treatment room, all of the team are professional and personable, and the level of care I have received over my 2+ years using this practice has been great. I will continue to use Dr. Shenasi regularly for as long as she is in practice!
My Dentist spoke of of how she cared for her father; he and I are similar conditions. At at a specific point in time I asked her, after all she did for her father was he happy. She smiled. I was eased and I I smiled, without any teeth. Soon I'll have a smile to match my pretty brown eyes.
Very efficient and knowledgeable. I was able to get treatment the day I walked in. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
The staff is really nice and put me at ease.
Great and quick service up front and during treatment. Cleaning was done very quickly and painlessly.
Dr. Shenasi was able to give me a same day appointment for a broken tooth. It turns out I need 2 root canals. She cleaned out the tooth decay, made temp caps and was sure to ask if I was in pain. Her assistant, Aiyonna was great too! I have a follow-up on Friday to begin the root canals. I highly recommend Soft Touch Dentists. They're great and conveniently located at 20th & K St NW. I don't have to go to a different dentist office to have my root canal done.
Dr. Shenasi provided me with good care and was knowledgeable about my issue.
Always professional, welcoming and comforting atmosphere.
Dr. Shenasi was amazing! She was very attentive to my comfort during the procedure and super nice. This is my first time visiting her but she willl definitely be my go to dentist from now on.
I enjoyed my experience with Dr. Samira and her staff. I was helped immediately, and the new patient consultation was very informative.
This is the most amazing dentist office I have ever been to. They are both capable and caring – I have never felt so comfortable with a dentist. I have been with them for several years, and will continue to for years to come.
Wait time 5 minutes. Did a great job of explaining everything. Anesthetic was great and hardly any pain whatsoever for deep cleaning and crown. Very professional. Glad I chose them.
Prices for fillings and crowns seem higher at this practice than comparable locations; that said, the billing staff is helpful in creating a payment/treatment plan that can meet your needs.
She was so kind and informative, and made me feel very comfortable. Will definitely be seeing her in the future.
Great! The entire staff was lovely and professional--best dental experience I've had.
She was kind, took extra time with me and would highly recommend both her and the practice.
She was nice enough, but didn't listen when I tried to answer her questions or explain the issue I was having. She was talking to her assistant instead of to me. While examining my teeth she also spoke to the assistant rather than to me and did not fully explain the issues or what she was doing until after the exam. She also diagnosed a need for two root canals, two crowns, and an extraction which seems VERY extreme. They also asked me to wait for their root canal expert to examine my teeth to confirm if this was really necessary. My appointment was at 8am, this expert was not due in until 9am which was fine, however he had not arrived by 9:10 and I had to leave to get to work. I'll be seeking a second opinion and I double I'll return. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, as was the assistant (Mike I believe).
Excellent dentist loved her! Had not been to a dentist for 10 years just because I'm very nervous and don't like dentists but she helped me get over my fear with her patience . she fixed my broken tooth no pain no complications. I will go back to her.
I am always impressed at how well they take care of me. I am a patient for life.
Shenasi is amazing and all the staff at Soft Touch are wonderful. I've been in DC for a decade and I've never had such a great dental care. I have really bad grinding problems, I even clench during the day, so I've had a variety of services with her to address the pains of bruxism. If you grind, you know how much it sucks, both pain-wise and financially, but she and the Soft Touch staff are incredibly helpful and warm, and make it all as easy as possible.
Wonderful doctor. Explained procedure. Thoughtful. Professional!
Dentist and her team (dental assistant, and front desk person) demonstrated little knowledge of trauma informed care. I explained before visit 1 of 2 for a crown that I was a trauma survivor and that dental visits had been a trigger in the past. I asked for a sedative and was told I did not need it. Trauma informed care would earn them high marks from me.
I'm pretty happy with the office; Dr. Shenasi is caring and patient. I had not seen a dentist for over 8 years now I know I will be going back to see her. I started my treatment with her on my cleaning day she is very through and pays attention to details for sure .
Everything just went well; she is very personable and as long as I live in DC I'll be seeing Dr. Shenazi and her staff. I had two crowns that broke; I made an emergency appointment with her I will get my new ones in a week. My temporaries look even better than the crowns I had. I must say she is a perfectionist and very very through she talked to me about every single tooth in my mouth in details and explained to me things that no-one had ever taken time to explain to me. Can't wait to see the final work.
I could not be any happier. I made an emergency appointment with Dr. Shenasi for the pain I was experiencing on the weekend ; she was very through, extremely caring and professional. For someone like me who has anxiety of dentists she handled me pretty well , I didn't feel anything. I was completely pain free one day after my treatment; she even called me on a sun. to check on me. thank you
She was very personable, professional, and an overall great dentist! I have already recommended her to my friends.
I requested an appointment last week to assess a problem with a cavity as I had pain to one of my teeth. Dr. Shenasi refused to look at the problem as she wanted to start the process for replacing a crown on a tooth, her assessment from my first visit when she did xrays on my teeth to see their conditions. Never I wanted an appointment to start fixing the list of problems she listed, we never agreed on this. I just wanted to know how to relieve the pain. She refused to look at my month, and redirect me to the registration desk. I ended up suffering terrible tooth ache the whole weekend, without the possibility of visiting any dentist. On Monday I had a dentist appointment to another doctor who has fixed the problem. Dr. Shenasi lack of professionalism and cure about her patient I highly not recommend her.
I had an emergency and I call soft touch on K street NW, for an appointment yesterday(6/27/2016).My experience at soft touch was really good. The dentist (Samira Shenasi) and technicians were amazing, they took their time to explain my issues and was patient, in discussing my care and financial options for that day and moving forward. Just great.
Dr. Shenasi is professional and patient. She was extremely attentive to my situation and took time to explain to me every step of the process. I am happy to have her become part of my health care provider team.
She's a Godsend to me. I am terrified of dentists, extreme anxiety. I was almost having a panic attack while having a root canal done. She was patient, caring about my anxiety feelings . . . Believe me, I was a true pain in the butt, I was so afraid! They played music, even had a movie playing for me on their TV, trying to calm me down. I am definitely seeing her again! Totally love my new dentist Dr. Shenasi. -IvonneDP
It is with great sadness that I must leave a negative review. I've always had great experiences with my dentists and doctors, especially those found on Zocdoc. This experience was unacceptable. The hygienist was sweet and thorough, and the office is nice, so initially I thought that I had made a great choice in coming to Dr. Shenasi's office. However, I was alarmed when Dr. Shenasi came in, and after a very cursory look at my xrays and charts let me know that I have three cavities and that I grind my teeth and needed a mouth guard as well as several other procedures. I have never had a cavity before, so it seemed very out of the ordinary that I'd have even one cavity, let alone three and other issues. I was pushed right away into booking an urgent appointment and getting a mold for the mouthguard. After the initial shock wore off, I contacted my prior dentist (from home) to book a consultation for a second opinion, as well as a third from a dentist she referred me to in DC. Both - highly reputable - dentists agreed that there was one slight area of decay, but no other cavities, and absolutely no reason to drill on that area -- just to correct some hygiene methods and check back at my next regular appointment. I also show no evidence of clenching or grinding. In short, proceed with extreme caution at this office. Based on Yelp reviews, several others have had similar experiences to mine, so this is not an isolated incident.
They required that I have a deep cleaning (a few hundred out of pocket) rather than a normal one before any work could be done. I was there for over an hour and a half and got nothing done and now have to find a new dentist who can do the very basic work I need.
Dr. Shenasi is excellent by all means. She is so careful and meticulous. I am so happy to have found such an awesome dentist. I felt no pain and yes, I highly recommend her to whomever is scared of a dentist, because she is different.
I love Dr. Shenasi! She is very thorough with explaining everything, taking extra time to answer any questions I've had. She works quickly but at the same time uses extreme care. As long as I'm in DC I won't go anywhere else for my dental care!
I had a great experience with Dr. Shenasi, Very quick, and works with extreme care. She made sure I was comfortable when she was working on me, it was painless. stronly recommend her if you have fear of dentists. She is very calm, patient , and you will be very comfortable in her hands . Her nurse was just as wonderful.
clean, high tech, open office, hygienist was just amazing I was falling asleep; doctor was great she took her time and explained everything to me. Very nice professional.
Very through , gentle, and efficient dentist. She really cares about her patients. I could her talking to other patients, she is very kind . The office was clean and front desk staff is very polite and helpful.
Excellent dentist, she took care of my emergency and made me feel at ease and pain free. Great care and facility.I am definitely going back to finish the rest of my treatment. She is so friendly and treated me like her family.
Dr. Shenasi was so nice, patient and gentle. My dental work was done with no pain, she is very through and detailed oriented. her assistants were kind and courteous.
Great doctor, excellent care .Treatment was explained to me by her step by step. Fees are higher than other offices I have been to but the office put me on her schedule even if she had no availabilities just because I was in pain so can't complain. Thanks for helping me.
I don't think any dentist has ever explained my dental problems so much in details and spent time with me making sure I understand everything. I needed this visit and definitely going back to start my treatment with Dr. Shenasi I felt very comfortable with her. Her hygienist was so gentle.
I have been a patient of Dr. Shenasi at Soft touch for the last 3 years. They finished my treatment today and I finally got the smile I always wanted. she is very gentle, attentive and caring. They have great technologies at their office. She explained every procedure with patience by showing me pictures and x-rays of my teeth. Office manager and front desks were very helpful. I highly recommend.
The doctor was very helpful and understanding of my needs and problems. I'm very much scared of dentists; She is very comforting and I felt like I'm in good hands. the front desk walked me through my paperwork and insurance questions. Great team from front desk , assistants to Dr. shenasi. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Shenasi is very professional, kind and leaves you with the comfort of knowing you'll be well taken care of. All of the staff was very nice and easy to talk to about any questions I may have. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shenasi to my friends.
I feel the need to come on here and say, do NOT and I repeat do NOT go to this dental office. They are liars and scammers, and I WISH I read the Yelp reviews before going in for my first visit and NOT Zocdoc. The main problem for when I called and asked about my insurance Jonathan said yes we take it, no problem. I went there and Dr. Sherasi immediately made me feel like everything in my mouth was my fault. She asked me if I eat a lot of sweets, etc because my teeth are really bad. Meanwhile, this is a new dentist to me because I moved, I have been under the care of a dentist regularly for at least the past two years fixing problems and NOT ONCE was I ever made to feel I'm wrong. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT. Then they discuss work I should be getting done and Abby comes in. Next thing I know Abby is telling me I need to give a large deposit AFTER Insurance. When I told her I do not have that and basically started to cry thinking it was my fault like they have made me feel, she said okay we will only do one procedure and proceeding to go over pricing with me. When I asked her why it was SOOO expensive since with my other dentists I have had more work done and didn't pay nearly as much - she proceeded to tell me my insurance was not good. Another thing to make me feel it was my fault. They proceeded to leave out they are NOT in my NETWORK, which means they can charge WHATEVER they want knowing my insurance will NOT be covering all of it or even most of it. I have NEVER in my life, dealt with dishonesty and money hungry people like them. I have NOT finished the treatment with them and refused to, I found another dentist who I am under their care. When I told Abby I should have read the Yelp reviews more closely, she said they are only for people who are disgruntled and not real patient views. I guess she doesn't know how many people go to Yelp and when you google it's one of the first things that pop up. I have learned my lesson the hard way - I hope anyone reading this will learn their lesson before me.
I have been her patient for several years and she is a great professional, incredibly caring about her patients and very nice
Excellent service. Shamira Shenasi, DDS, and her team were friendly and professional in their approach. They took time to explain the dental issues and the procedures, and the next course of action.
Really nice. And reception was very helpful too.
I've been a patient of Dr. Shenasi's for over 2 years, and each visit has been a very positive experience. I suffer from dental anxiety, but she has worked with me to develop a plan for managing my anxiety, and she and her staff are very caring and patient. I always recommend her to friend and people I know who are looking for a dentist.
I was a bit nervous going in, but the entire staff were great.
Very nice dentist - reassuring, and provides clear explanations. Have had good experiences with everyone I have seen at this office.
excellent experience! a great doctor, very nice, professional!
Not very professional and had to have work redone out of pocket.
Everyone was very accommodating and kind - all my questions and concerns were answered and the office was beyond patient, honestly more than they even needed to be, which was really nice of them.
I think she recommended a bunch of services that I really didn't need.
My visit was excellent! Everyone on the staff was very friendly and professional. Everyone took the time to explain the procedure to me and make sure I understood what was going to happen. While waiting for my medicine to take effect, the staff made sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Shenasi!
I visited Dr. Shenasi's office, Soft Touch Dentist, to have a consultation on wisdom teeth extraction. I felt very pressured to have the procedure done but the oral surgeon and dental assistants. Before I left they gave me an estimate that was extremely high to have my wisdom teeth extracted and have a few crowns put on (they informed me that it was important for this to be done in one procedure). While the staff was nice, I will not be using them in the future.
The doctor was excellent. The prices were extreme and over the top. I have never heard of such prices for dental work. I would never recommend them to anyone.
I came in with a specific symptom, and after having to come back for a second appointment later in the day because the Dr. did not come into the office at the time of my first appointment, I left with the symptom still untreated. I felt as though I was being sold products at a car dealer, not treated by a medical professional.
Dr Shenasi was very thorough and knowledgeable.
Excellent experience - I'll be back!
I only saw Dr. Shenasi for about 5 minutes. The dental hygienist did everything and was very pleasant and friendly. However, It felt like Dr. Shenasi was more of a salesperson than a dentist. I felt pressured into future treatments that I appeared to just be expensive and unnecessary. In addition, they are in my insurance network, however they do not provide the service that my insurance requires them to and thus wanted me to pay even more. I don't plan on returning.
The hygienist working with Samira Shenasi was great. The office was efficient and friendly. The visit with the doctor was less than par. He didn't give me clear details about the treatment plan. He suggested multiple procedures but I didn't leave with an understanding of what was next. He thought he was going above and beyond by explaining things to me but all he really did was spin circles. Will go back to see hygienist but probably not him.
Not a very organized practice. When I arrived for my first visit, the front desk claimed that my appointment was not in their system. I found that odd considering that the office chose to reschedule my visit to a different time of their choosing. Never got an explanation as to what happened, nor an apology. I ended up waiting roughly an hour or so to be seen, and then the appointment dragged on for two hours (for a cleaning and an exam). 3 hours for a checkup seems extremely excessive. While the hygienist and dentist were very nice, the front desk staff were not helpful. I wouldn't recommend this practice.
Very expensive, but great technology. A bit of overselling. Know your budget and maybe seek a second opinion.
Discriminated against my disability.
They were alright. Very confident in themselves. I felt like I was getting their sales pitch for my mouth though.
Very good dentist! Very professional and excellent high quality services. Make sure your insurance covers all of the procedures, services, or the deductible to you can be quite expensive! It's not always clear when you're in the office what's covered and what isn't, so read your insurance policy carefully.
My first time there as a patient, and I just felt rushed and a bit lectured to. Going back next month so I hope they are more friendly next time around.
Dr. Shenasi was good, but I only saw her briefly. The dental hygienist, however, was patient with a needle-phob like myself, and the staff bent overbackwards to get me in the day before New Year's so that I would still be under this year's insurance. They also are squeezing me in tomorrow so to get even more work done. As a bonus, they didn't make me feel too guilty for not seeing a dentist in two years. :)
It felt like Dr. Shenasi and her assistants were trying to sell me on expensive and unnecessary procedures from the moment I arrived until the moment I departed.
Apparently I had 6 cavities on left side and 5 on right.. Didn't sound right to me.. had right side done. Never felt that I should have had that much cavities, went to another dentist recommended by a friend with the x-rays without mentioning anything and he didnt say anything about fillings or cavities. He said that it looks pretty good.. Every follow-up i went here I felt they wanted to do everything and anything including pulling all my wisdom teeth, surgery to straighten a slight slant of my front teeth etc etc. Wouldn't go back here.
Great job. Quick, friendly service.
The people there were very friendly and helpful. They were also understanding and cooperative. Every step was explained clearly.
Doctor was really attentive and the assistants were patient and professional. The front-desk staff gave comprehensive review on the finance and insurance policies.
Always a great visit, very personable. I've had good treatment at this office.
