She was good, why she asking me all the questions her Assistant was taking notes on the computer and telling her what medication to order. The office is very unique. I have not seeing anything like that before very nice. Over all she was good. I will be going back to her again with my son too.

Been here a couple of times. My visits usually are quick. I like the staff and environment. Easy process, they helped me with my acne problems. Con: every time I come here I see a different DR. They all good , but I rather someone who seen me enough and I’m familiar with then re introducing myself each time. Other than that, I’ll be back !

Dermatologists are specialists trained to diagnose, treat and prevent skin disorders. They are adept at managing all kinds of skin diseases, such as acne, eczema, hives, impetigo, melanoma, moles, psoriasis, rashes, rosacea, skin cancer and wrinkles. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, there were more skin disease reports across the United States than cardiovascular disease, end-stage renal disease or diabetes in 2013, the most recent year in which data were available. More than 26% of Americans were treated for at least one type of skin disease.
Primarily, there exist four subspecialties that a dermatologist might get trained in:
- Pediatric dermatology: These dermatologists diagnose, treat and prevent diseases impacting children.
- Cosmetic dermatology: In this area, doctors focus on improving a patient’s appearance rather than treating a disease.
- Dermatopathology: These subspecialists remove and evaluate samples taken to diagnose skin diseases.
- Surgery: Surgeons treat diseases using surgical procedures. For instance, Mohs surgery is used to treat skin cancers.

Pediatric dermatologist
A pediatric dermatologist is a doctor who diagnoses and treats diseases affecting children, including newborns and infants. Some disorders of skin, hair or nails are more common in children—these include eczema, infections, vitiligo, warts, psoriasis, birthmarks and birth defects. Children are not always able to communicate the issues they are facing and answer medical questions accurately; pediatric dermatologists are trained to navigate this communication barrier and use kid-friendly medical tools for diagnosis.
To become a pediatric dermatologist, one must complete a medical degree, followed by a one-year internship. They then have to complete a residency in dermatology and pass the board exam to be a licensed dermatologist. Finally, they pursue a fellowship in pediatric dermatology to be able to practice. With this specialized training, pediatric dermatologists understand what is healthy growth and development for a child and what constitutes a medical concern. They are experts in the diagnosis and medication management for childhood skin diseases. Read more to know what the American Academy of Pediatrics has to say about pediatric dermatologists.
