Her clinical expertise includes medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She treats many conditions including eczema, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne rosacea, drug allergy, contact dermatitis, and skin cancer. She routinely performs skin biopsies and excisions for diagnostic and treatment purposes. Dr. Gruen graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University as a Bachelor of Arts in the Department of History. Her undergraduate thesis women covered history of women’s impact in medicine in the 1800s. She earned her MD degree from Yale University School of Medicine. Research from her medical school thesis was published in Journal of Investigative Dermatology.Dr. Gruen completed her Dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident in Dermatology. At graduation she was awarded membership to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Currently Dr. Gruen is Board Certified in Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

I've been very very concerned about the rash on my leg ....but she assured me it was not serious. I thought she was very nice, confident in her decision making and wanted to make sure that the cream she prescribed was covered by my insurance.
Dr Gruen was fantastic... she was so gentle with the needles for my botox that I hardly felt anything. Amazing considering that I have a needle phobia. I would highly recommend and now won’t see anyone else! She is the best.
