There are no words to describe my frustration and overall disappointment. This was my first attempt to get a doctor in thecity and boyyy was it an experience. I had a 15-20 min conversation in the doctors office where she was kind, but essentially told me she wasn’t the doctor for me .. I found it odd, but fair, I appreciated her honesty. She still brought me in for some blood work and gave me a recommendation for another doctor. Two weeks later I got stuck with a HUGE bill (excluding blood work). WHAT? I was under the impression this would be free as I thought I had signed up for a wellness check up and this was within my network. I thought it had to be a mistake so I called the office and found out they don’t offer “annual wellness check ups” .. who doesn’t offer that as an internist group? I had to call the doctor (which took several attempts) and got her approval to change the code. Again, very kind, I just wasn’t the patient for her. Then I had to follow up with billing (this also took several attempts) to get someone on the phone. She was frustrated by the request, but in the end said she would push the change through. After a month of phone tag I thought it was finally over, WRONG! I called to check in with my insurance only to find out nothing had ever been processed. My insurance offered to call and handle directly which I gladly accepted. They then came back to tell me billing had claimed there was no record of my conversation and that the woman I had worked with did not “exist”. I called the billing dept. several times after only to get voicemails, never receiving any call backs. This went on for about a month before I was sent to collections for the past due bill. In the end I had to pay an astronomical bill for a doctor who told me to go elsewhere and months worth of phone calls, voicemails, and stress. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF. The stress and headache isn’t worth it.

Dr Gupta is very nice and very accommodating. Emblem Health listed her as a Primary Care Physician which is why Iwent to see her, but although she said she isn't one (Emblem Health should update their list), she talked to me about my health concern and gave me referrals and recommendations.
