I believe in healing the whole person and have many tools to do just that. I am a board certified acupuncturist and herbalist, but also have a strong background in western science. In my clinic, Yin Yang Balance Acupuncture, I use herbs, massage, trigger point acupressure, moxibustion, and acupuncture to restore balance to the minds and bodies of my patients. I began my love of science and the mind/body relationship studying neurobiology and psychology at Columbia University. I worked in a lab for years before shifting to the clinical side. I studied traditional Chinese medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where I completed my master’s degree. I then completed a year-long in-patient fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in the Integrative Medicine Department. In addition to my private practice, I am a medical & science writer. I create "continuing medical education" programs for physicians and maintain a regular blog on the Huffington Post. Which you can see here http://www.huffingtonpost.com/amy-m-fitzpatrick-ms-lac/ Finally, I recently presented at the APA conference about using TCM in addiction and will be presenting on the same topic at the local TCM school & other conferences.

Such an insightful, inquisitive, caring doctor. So happy to be under her care. She redefines the level of care that most NYC doctors seem to give.
professional , knowledgeable and compassionate.
Amy was incredibly thorough and kind. She made no assumptions and truly listened and evaluated my particular situation so she could prescribe a unique, customized treatment plan. She made me feel comfortable the entire time. Plus, she provided me with ample knowledge about symptoms, physiology, her practice. Highly recommend.
I have only seen Amy once but I feel like I'm finally in the right place. I have a lot of complicated health issues and she was able to explain to me how they are all linked and then discussed a plan to tackle them together. I think she might be a genius. I'm very excited to continue working with her.
Not only was Amy extremely warm and kind, the acupuncture treatment really worked to relieve my back pain.
It's rare to find a practitioner that you so easily connect with and trust with your health, body, and wellbeing. Amy's exactly that. I'm not honestly sure if I've ever felt in more capable hands for my big-picture wellbeing.
Incredibly knowledgeable and interested in educating the patient! Clean, bright office. Can't wait to go back.
She is thorough and extremely knowledgeable. She has helped relieve me of my chronic pain!
Pretty much what everybody else has said on here -- Amy is more attentive than any healthcare practitioner I've seen in recent memory, and seeing her is also a lot of fun. I've felt tangible results and her advice isn't hippy-dippy or unrealistic: it's based off of science and it's very achievable. I'm extremely happy that I trusted the reviews on Zocdoc and went with Amy, and have been going for several months & will continue to.
Amy is phenomenal! This was my first acupuncture appointment. We first spoke for ~45 minutes on what felt like everything - my exercise regiment, diet, previous surgeries, etc. She takes genuine interest in the health and well-being of her patients. I definitely plan on becoming one of Amy's regulars. Flying colors!
I highly recommend Amy. She clearly cares about what she does and it makes the experience that much better. She took her time to answer every question I had and really gave proper explanations that helped me understand what my conditions were and how they were being treated
I'd look forward to visiting Amy FitxPatrick again. Knowledgeable and thoroughly considerate.
Amy is incredibly professional, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She was able to see me right away and thoroughly covered my medial history before she discussed treatment. Super kind and friendly too.
I really appreciated Amy's wide scope of knowledge. I knew that she was highly credentialed, but Amy's communication style and multi-tiered approach to overall wellness was most appreciated.
great experience! First appt was very thorough. I feel great and have realistic expectations. Experience went beyond the treatment as Amy uses her knowledge and experience to help through lifestyle.
Amazing. Made the process a pleasure. Learned a lot...
Great - really personable, went above and beyond what I was expecting. Very helpful and had me thinking about my health in ways I haven't for a while. and really moved alot of stuff in my body, easing my pain and tension.
Sessions have been incredibly helpful, she is the only person that has been able to help alleviate some of the chronic pain that I have. She is patient and extremely attentive to your needs.
I had major spine surgery 10 months ago and even though the spine is healing well, I am experiencing pain in my right leg and hip, with a resultant limp. Amy is amazing - she was able to diagnose why this is happening (not directly related to the spine) and what the course of action/treatment should be. I was able to relate to everything she said and neither my surgeon nor physical therapist had done this. I am very hopeful that she can work with me to resolve this - results are apparent after only two visits. And she has an incredible manner. I would recommend her whole-heartedly.
I love Dr. FitzPatrick, she's extremely informative and answers all your questions and concerns immediately.
As always my visits with Amy get me the results I'm looking for. I would recommend her to anyone.
Very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about well-being of patient as well as the progression of treatment.
Amy has gone above and beyond in helping me out. I'm in and out of NYC and she has bent over backwards to see me, trying hard to get me in even during the week of Hurricane Sandy. When the neighborhood was powerless, she still sent me helpful advice via e-mail despite having never met me before. The sessions since I have seen her have been foundational, a combo of acupuncture and light massage. My body, which she has pointed out suffers from chronic issues related to posture and stress, is slowly starting to feel better. Amy has taken a holistic approach to my situation--I now have a number of exercises and behavior changes to do on my own. She combines the best of western and eastern medicine. I'd highly recommend Amy to anyone who wants an honest diagnosis and customized, comprehensive care from a straight shooter.
Amy is a wonderful, sweet person who will make you feel comfortable and relaxed! I highly recommend her!
