I had high hopes when I booked my appointment with Dr. Kogan due to her high ratings and location (not to far from where I work). I arrived 5 minutes early for my appointment at 7:55 AM. No one was at the front desk and a patient had to let me in. At about 8:00 AM I was asked to fill out 6 lengthy forms. By 8:10 AM I was finished. I sat in the waiting room from 8:10 AM until 8:40 AM. A woman came in after me and was seen and left. At 8:40 AM I was seen by an assistant who completed intake by asking me some of the same questions that I responded to on the form (waste of time). I was asked my weight and height when there was a scale in the room. When I complained, I was told by the assistant that several people were scheduled for 8:00 AM. Around 8:50 I was seen by Dr. Kogan who spent about 10 minutes with me. She was pleasant. Even though I told her I was running late for work (because of the inefficiency of her office) I was then sent to another room for a test that I had no idea that I would be taking the same day. I was then asked to go to yet another room for another test but I had to leave. When I came back to the front desk, they had no clue what was going on and told me that the doctor was going on vacation (not sure what this had to do with me as I was sure that I would not return for another appointment). I made an 8:00 AM appointment with the expectation of going to work afterwards and drove to the office so that I would arrive on time. I had to pay for parking at work to accommodate the appointment. This office needs many improvements in its process and communication with patients including what is to be expected during a typical visit. Not everyone has unlimited time and people have to make sacrifices to make it to a visit on time. The staff should take this into consideration when dealing with patients. I did find the lobby to be a very difficult place for someone with a migraine condition, as the lights were extremely bright (even for a doctor’s office) and the phones are a beeh high volume. Dr. Kogan is great, the office is very clean, friendly staff, I've been twice and never waited longer than a few minutes to see the doctor. She listens to her patients, and explains everything in a way that made me feel I understood exactly what was going on, and tests accordingly and thoroughly. She even answered questions and concerns I had about my general health much better than my primary care physician has.
