Dr. Bernard Bernhardt received his medical training at Northwestern University Medical School. After graduation, he completed his residency at New York Medical College. Following residency, Dr. Bernhardt served in the Air Force. After finishing his service, he completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the NY Medical College in Manhattan, spending his last 2 years of formal training at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Bernhardt is the Chief of Oncology and Hematology of Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital. During his training, he saw there was a great need for a specialist with expertise in the fields of both hematology and oncology, and limited his practice to these areas since then. Taking on the challenges of seriously ill patients in Hematology and Oncology has been very important to him from the day he started in practice. Dr. Bernhardt believes the most important person in the hospital or his office is and always has been, the patient. That is the way his office and hospital practice works. He has been listed among the best doctors in Westchester for many years and hopes to continue that tradition. Dr. Bernhardt is Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology.

Staff is friendly and pleasant and try to provide full service. Doctor B, has manner of country doctor: genuinly interested in patient and spends much time with them. Be prepared to wait a long time. I had a 10:15 apptmt and saw the doctor at 11:15.
