Qualifications and Experience
Dr. Bhadra Shah intends to provide optimal patient care with compassion and concern for patient's health. She has treated generations of families and would love to treat any new patients in the same way. Dr. Shah and her staff respects and cares for your time and comfort. We can do our best only if patients keep their appointment and complete their forms ahead of time. Too many last minutes cancellation requires overbooking which results in long wait some time.
We also have acupuncturist and alternative therapy provider (who offers help for many ailments) available in my office.

I saw Dr. Shah for the first time April 8th, 2016 and overall my experience we excellent. Dr. Shah is very thorough; she doesn't overlook anything. She is very pleasant and made me feel extremely at ease. I felt like she listened to me and explained, in detail, what she was doing and answered all of my questions. I will definitely be going back to Dr. Shah!
OB-GYN appointments are never the most comfortable thing is the world, but I'd recommend Bhadra Shah to anyone looking for an OB-GYN in NYC. Very professional and timely. Only pluses in my book.
Shah is one of the nicest doctors I've seen, she sits with you at her desk before and after the exam to answer any questions you may have and gives thorough explanations. It is clear she enjoys what she does.
She was very knowledgeable and had great bedside manner.
Very bad. Extremely painful test, held me down as I screamed/cried for her to stop because it was mind-blowingly painful (she was very rough and didn't use the best tools available for the job until I was already in severe agony). I don't scream or sob very easily, owing to pride and a high pain threshold, but the experience was torturous, roughly analogous to the stabbing pain of root canal without properly applied anesthetic. Impossible to control the reaction. Made me get up and change in the other room when I just had to take one more undergarment off (top) so I had to roughly stuff my feet in my boots (wrinkling the tops and I hope they're not permanently damaged) to get there since everything else was off. Acted like I was wasting her time, tried to blame it on me when I specifically told her it was my first time at this kind of appointment and I didn't know what to expect. It's been about 12 hours since the very basic annual test she did, and I am still feeling some pains. Not normal and now I'm worried for the sterility of the instruments (other patients had noted that the office did not seem completely clean). If I discover down the line that I have some sort of STI/STD while being sexually inactive, I'll know for a fact it was from here. The positives were her post-test explanations; I did appreciate being shown the diagrams and explanations of how it was all structured. It was a good in-session followup. It just wasn't enough to make up for everything else. Zocdoc, could you please publish this review anonymously?
The worst experience I have ever had! They charged me more or copay and said they will send me back if my insurance has covered. It takes about 2 hours for all the process, but the test is only 10 minuets! It's really a bad place!!!
Waited almost an hour but she was very nice and knowledgeable!
Dr. Shah is professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her.
I waited over an hour- the doctor was running behind and there were 6 patients ahead of me when I got there. I had come in for my annual which is covered by my insurance but was charged a co-pay because I asked for a change in birth control. This place is a money making scam- they don't care about patients, they just want to find cheap ways to make money off of you- I will never go there again!
She was GREAT!!
Exceptionally good treatment and care with personal touch. She is like angel to patients. Except wait time...everything ..is just great... I would love to refer my friends and relatives to her. Thank you Dr.....
Dr. Shah was thorough, friendly, and answered all my questions thoughtfully. I didn't feel rushed whatsoever and found her bedside manner to be excellent. Her assistant was also courteous and answered all of my questions. I do agree with some other reviews about the office being less "fancy" than most -- but I certainly don't think it's an unsanitary environment. I highly recommend Dr. Shah.
She was gentle and kind. I'll definitely consult her in the future.
The doctor was very thorough, very professional and easy to relate to. I highly recommend her.
The doctor was very welcoming and answered all of my questions. She took into account everything we conversed about and was very professional.
I was very pleased with the doctor. she took her time with me and she was very informative.
You wait a while but its worth it because unlike most doctors in nyc she will sit with you and talk first. I felt comfortable and heard.
Seeing Dr. Shah was nice except the wait time was terrible. Someone else was ahead of me to see Dr. Shah. She was very clear of her next tasks.
Best doctor I've been to in the city. Super attentive and genuinely caring. Loved her.
It was ok but the office is not extremely clean. Mrs Shah is very nice and explains well.
Dr. Shah is very knowledgable and friendly , she expresses geniue concern of your personal health. I was very impressed that she recalled everything from our last appointment which was a year ago !
The receptionist put me in quite a bit of financial strain by overcharging me. It took quite a while to get the situation sorted with my insurance so it was enough to make me not go back after the first visit.
i really like that she takes the time to pay attention to what every problem i have and she seems to really want me to be well. easy to talk to .
Excellent and experienced doctor.
You might feel like you're walking into a drug den going into the building but her offices themselves are clean and comfortable and she's very kind and helpful.
Very long wait to be seen, but the doctor herself was very nice and helpful.
She took her time and made sure I left her office with full knowledge from my check up. She was very professional but kind...
Last minute booking with Dr.Shah.. Most likely the last. She made me feel uncomfortable for a number of reasons, but mostly after pointing out the fact that I was chubby and mentioned "You need to lose weight". Duh, thanks for the update, I wasn't aware of my own body. Told me to cut out salt completely. Please stick to why I scheduled the appointment with you, and why we are here! Confusing to find the office in a giant old and musty smelling building. One wrong turn? Good luck! At least the woman at the front desk was a joy.
She was very nice and friendly. Very informative about the medications i wanted and even wrote me a prescription for an acne cream! Not a long wait time and everyone was really in the office!!
She's very thorough !!!
Dr Shah was calm and soothing. I approached her with a pretty scary issue and although a diagnosis is still in the air, I certainly felt less scared when I left. One thing that did not comfort me very much was when I was waiting for her in the examination room, there were used instruments and (looked like) another patient's samples sitting out and unlabeled.
Terrible, terrible! Went in for a suspected STD. She was easily confused when I answered her questions about birth control history, she wanted to go back 13 years and she wrote the dates wrong, then blamed me for telling her the wrong ones. Um, girl, I know what I've taken and when, mmok? Scolded me for putting the paper gown on the right way (opening in the front for paps) and had me turn it around while she was standing there, naked. Now it's on backwards and she ripped it to do a breast exam. This is why we put the opening in the front, lady. All she could talk about was my weight (I had just run a marathon) and that my blood pressure was high (duh, consider why I am there) and started talking about lowering salt intake. Wha??? Focus, please, let's back to why I'm here. I was told to call back in three days to get the blood test results. Tried to dissuade me from getting a blood test bc my insurance might not cover it. Straight tomfoolery. Never could reach her, told the receptionist to please leave me a message with results, mail them, email them. Kept calling, Shah was never available. THREE WEEKS later, she calls me back with results. Not good ones. I could have started treatment 2.5 weeks earlier. Avoid, just go to a real doctor!
I was very nervous to come in, as it had been a while since I had a pelvic, but Dr. Shah's manner was very calming. She took very good care of me and has followed up with me to make sure that all is well. I am very glad to have found her!
awful experience. waited 90 mins past my appnt time.
My wait time allowed me to finish filling out newbie forms and open my email. I was called before reading email number two! Dr Shah met with me in her office before and after exam which I liked. Someone complained about changing in the bathroom... But it was attached to the exam room and large... What's the big deal? My visit was fast and efficient. All questions were answered. She not chatty, but for me that's ok when all is exposed! She works with skill and precision like a seasoned Dr. I didn't feel like anything extra was done to charge my insurance company. I will return.
They called to confirm my appointment (which was at 2:30), and they asked if I can come earlier at 1:45. I showed up at 1:35, and wasn't seen until 2:25, because the doctor wasn't even at the office until 2:20.
Dr. Shah is such a nice woman! She was very sweet and professional. I would definitely go see her again!
In addition to having multiple issues with sorting out my insurance with Dr. Shah, she neglected to inform me of an abnormal test result for over a year- an issue I didn't learn about until she refused to refill my birth control. Appalling and irresponsible practice of medicine.
My biggest concern about this office is that even if you had abnormal tests, you had to call the office to receive any of your results. 99% of the time, no one would pick up the phone. In most professional offices, they will call you if something shows up abnormal. Here, you need to hunt down your results if you can!
Super long wait but extremely kind and thorough service.
The place is really old. There's no dressing room, you have to change clothes in the toilet, which at the moment I had to use it was stinking.
Dr. Shah has very sporadic appointments, making it difficult to schedule; however, she does have Saturday appointments which is great. I went in a requested a full round of testing, and was told I would have to call her for the results. When I did call her for the results, she forgot to order one of the tests that I specifically requested, which meant I had find another doctor and go through the same process all over again. Very disappointing.
I like her, she's very thorough and cares for her patients.
Very kind. Good listener. Thorough and well informed.
She's attentive and gives good diagnosis.
Wait time was long, but her bedside manner and expertise are priceless. I'll wait any day for that type of care.
I really love this doctor. She is so kind and friendly- but the office as a business doesn't run as well as I need in order to feel satisfied. It is often late, the call-backs seem disorganized ( I still haven't received mine ) and the setup is antiquated, almost running entirely on paper.
I like the fact that she is thorough, also she's take's the time to answer any questions I may have
Dr. Shah is an experienced and intelligent physician. She is a very gentle soul who has a great bedside manner and is very informative. She also has some Saturday hours which works well for women in who work and have busy schedules.
very impressive visit. extremely clean and organize office. Examination room was immaculate.
Very thorough and kind. Sent my prescriptions to the pharmacy for me!
very calming, great doc!
Very nice, but didn't explain procedures in too much detail for a first time visit. Still, I will go back for follow-up. Office staff is very friendly and helpful.
She is efficient and warm, aligning her personal and professional experiences with your situation. I feel lucky to have found her by accident!
She was wonderful! So gentle and helpful!
Dr. Shah was very thorough, gentle and kind. She made sure to get a clear and comprehensive history, asked questions to understand my issues, and was very professional and helpful.
Dr. Shah is very personable and made me feel comfortable right away. She did not seem rushed at all, yet was very efficient.
Dr. Shah is very nice, but always expect a wait. It's usually about an hour.
It was long wait and I was her first patient. She is very thorough however and does not rush you. I will be back for a follow up.
I wish I would have found her sooner she is personable, kind, sweet, gentle and attentive. I highly recommend Dr. Shah.
Dr. Shah was professional, attentive, and patient. She also seems like a very kind individual.
I typically faint when getting blood drawn, or any other injections. I also have sever anxiety when dealing with doctors especially when its a first time visit. Dr Shah was unbelievably understanding and walked/ talked me through what I was anxious about and instilled courage. Doctors who take special care like this are far and few between. Not to mention the receptionist has repeatedly been very thorough, helpful and sweet.
Very sweet, thorough, to the point, and honest.
Dr. Shah is a excellent Dr.
Very lovely visit! Thank you.
Nice person, but not very "customer" friendly.
Very reassuring and professional approach
I liked Dr. Shah at first but less and less as I had more appointments with her. She is inattentive to detail, which is disturbing in a doctor, and I had to keep prodding her to get her to explain to me what was going on. She also ordered a pile of lab tests that turned out to be hugely expensive as my insurance did not cover them in full. Her office also does not call patients to remind them of appointments, which I can forgive her for but seems like an obvious thing to do. I missed one followup appointment and her office tried to charge me for it, claiming that I had actually gone to the appointment and had been complaining of and been treated for "abdominal pains." No idea what they were talking about. I can only assume they had me confused with another patient. I told them to check the sign-in sheet and they never called back.
She was thorough, professional and quick!
She was good.
Had to wait over an hour past my scheduled time to be seen. Also, they didn't take credit cards for my copay. They seemed nice, though.
Dr. Shah was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was suprisingly able to book an appointment the same day that I found her on Zoc Doc, and the receptionist called to confirm, which was appreciated. The office is nice, clean, but small. I did have to wait about 35 minutes past my appointment start time due to other patients, but overall, I would recommend her.
Dr. Shah was rude, insensitive, and condescending throughout the appointment. When I spoke to her on the phone a few weeks after the appointment, she was once again rude and mean to me. I found the whole experience to be negative and off putting.
