Dr. Caitlyn Kennedy received her Doctor of Optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. She completed clinical internships at the cornea and contact lens department at Boston Medical Center, the advanced low vision and primary eye care clinics in the Boston Veterans Administration Hospital System, and the primary eye care clinic at South Boston Community Health Center. Dr. Kennedy received extensive training in the treatment and management of ocular disease, pre and post-operative surgical care, specialty contact lens fittings, pediatric eye care and low vision rehabilitation. Dr. Kennedy offers comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. She specializes in contact lens fittings for diseased and irregular corneas including rigid gas permeable and scleral (MSD) contact lens fits. When visiting her office at Cohen’s Fashion Optical, patients have the added convenience of an onsite, state of the art ophthalmic laboratory and full time optician. We offer same day production of glasses and contact lens supplies as well as a large selection of designer ophthalmic frames and sunglasses. Dr. Kennedy was the recipient of the American Optometric Foundation-Carl Zeiss Vision Fellowship in 2011. She is a member of the International Optometric Honors Society (Beta Sigma Kappa), The American Optometric Association and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). As a member of VOSH, Dr. Kennedy has volunteered her time to international optometric missions, providing eye care in the Dominican Republic.

The receptionist was very rude and incompetent. She threatened to deny me service because she could not find me in the insurance’s service. After I politely asked her to look me up again, she was able to find me... very suspicious.

The doctor was wonderful. The staff at Cohen's Optical was incredibly disappointing. None of them seemed to understand how insurance worked with their company, they couldn't be less interested in helping me check-in, check-out, order contacts.They tried to upsell me to incredibly pricing contacts. I knew I needed to leave at that very moment. It was very uncomfortable and they made sure none of my visit was welcomed, even though the store was absolutely empty.

DO NOT GO HERE. Dr. Kennedy is fine; easy enough to talk to. However, you can tell everyone at this office is trying to get you to buy the EXTREMELY overpriced contacts. Horrible folks working the counter. They actually yelled at multiple people (including myself). Please avoid.

Friendly, professional, knowledgeable. On my first visit in December 2017, she spent time checking to see if my contact lens were a good fit and let me tried different brands/sizes. On my second visit in March 2018, she was able toquickly diagnose and address a vision problem (had a hard time focusing due to extensive computer use).

Dr. Kennedy is very professional and polite. She answered all of my questions and was very thorough in her exam. The staff up front are friendly and helpful. I was able to get 2 pairs of eye glasses while I waitedand am so happy to be seeing clearly now. They also have an extensive selection of frames. I would highly recommend Dr. Kennedy and her staff for any of your optical needs.

Her office billed me incorrectly for an eye infection that I had come in to see her for, which resulted in a lot of unnecessary insurance problems for me. Furthermore, the front office staff was extremely rude when I tried toclear this up with them. The woman actually hung up on me while I was trying to explain the problem. The doctor was ok, but the front office staff was so rude I don't think I'll go back.

Overall, Caitlyn was great- the exam was quick, to the point, and thorough. However, her office was rather rude. They were very sassy about explaining the copays and what was covered on my insurance, and I felt as if they weretrying to scam me adding on different things to my lenses and exams. They handled my lenses on site and it was very quick.

Beware! Horrible experience. The office is in the back of an eyeglass store and is the size of a closet. While Caitlyn was nice she had an agenda to push a certain brand contact lens. I went in wanting a newprescription for a lens i've been wearing for 5+ years and left without realizing she wrote the prescription for a completely different brand. When I went to order lens for the brand I use and need, I was denied as apparently the brand listed on the prescription locks you in, WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT THIS WAS A THING! The same prescription should be valid for any other brand and other doctors have previously provided me with a prescription that was valid for any. This has been an awful experience and a huge inconvenience! When I called the doctor for assistance they refused to update my prescription and blamed me. They wanted me to come back in for another visit and take more of my money! Not happy and never going back.

I enjoyed my visit with Dr Kennedy however I will NEVER be back due to her office staff. They were the most rude condescending women I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. The one woman was actually yelling at acustomer and the other just stood there rolling her eyes. A complete disgrace for a business. This place says that they take VSP Signature on ZocDoc and when you get there but when you tell them that you don't want the frames and you just want the prescription they then tell you that you are NOT in network and that they were "doing me a favor and honoring the insurance anyway." When I specifically asked if I was covered when I walked in and they confirmed that I was in network. They then attempted to charge me the out of network cost--finally a manager stepped in and said to give it for in-network since that's what I was told. They also overcharge you for frames--frames are being marked up to almost double the price. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS--such a shame when Dr. Kennedy is such a sweet doctor.

Dr. Kennedy was kind and thorough in addressing my concerns. My only complaint is that some of her answers to my questions were a bit jargony and thus a little difficult to understand for someone without a medical degree. Overall apleasant experience, though. I'll go back for my next annual exam.

I really enjoyed Dr. Kennedy, however, the receptionists at the storefront were very rude and dismissive. Overall the appointment went smoothly and was incredibly efficient. I filled out all my forms ahead of time and Dr. Kennedy called my name exactly at my appointment time. All I needed was an eye exam, she got it done, askedme further questions, took care of me, and it was snappy. The front desk gals were really helpful in handling my annoying vision insurance AND with styling me on my fresh new frames. Highly recommended.

I didn't know what to expect, being in a Cohen's storefront. But do not be deterred! One of the women at the front desk was exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and generous. Sounds funny to say, but she made me feel safe. Withthe exception of the eye testing machines being a bit dustier/dirtier than I would have liked to have near my face and eyes, everything about the visit was fantastic. Dr. Kennedy is friendly, patient, kind, and answered all my questions thoroughly. I'll be back.

I liked interacting with Dr. Kennedy. She was very friendly and seemed knowledgable. On the other hand her staff was extremely rude. While trying on frames, the attendant was pushy and tried to tell me what I liked. As soon asI decided not to get glasses with them, they became more obviously pushy, frustrated, and cold. When asking for my receipt and prescription, the young lady slammed the stamp on the receipt before handing it to me.
