Dr. Romero is an experienced physician specializing in general surgery
He is Board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons
After completing his surgical residency he spent two additional years in training, where he completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Medical College of Virginia
He has been in private practice in Long Island for over thirty years.
At the present time he is mostly devoted to Laparoscopic, Breast, Hernia repairs and Head and Neck surgery
In 2009 he joined the surgical faculty al Winthrop University Hospital.
He has authored multiple scientific articles, directed a course on laparoscopic cholecystectomy and also lectured extensively on the subject of general and laparoscopic surgery both in the United States and abroad
He has been responsible for teaching and supervising medical students and house staff rotating through the department of surgery at Winthrop University Hospital since the inception of the medical school at SUNY, Stony Brook. He holds the title of Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery from that institution
In addition to his surgical interests, Dr Romero has been also active in the managerial aspects of medicine. As such, he is past president of The Nassau Surgical Society and past Medical Director of the Day Op Center, an ambulatory surgical facility.
