Dr Cottrol does not do treatment or medication management for Psychiatry patients. Note that you will be receiving a call inquiring about your medical history. If you do not have any diagnostics done prior to coming to your appointment with Dr Cottrol (ex: bloodwork, imaging, etc ), your upcoming encounter at 14 Street Medical Arts will consist of two visits: -Initial Evaluation is performed by Dr Cottrol’s Staff Physicians where certain office procedures and diagnostic tests are performed, as needed, such as Blood Work, EKG, Vascular and General Ultrasound Studies, Electromyogram (EMG), Nerve Conduction Study (NCS), Electrophysiological evaluation (EVOX), Electroencephalogram (EEG), Sleep studies, etc., to create underlying diagnostics and data for proper treatment plan. Dr Cottrol’ state of the art office technology provides patients to do most diagnostics on-site during first visit, all diagnostic results are normally ready within a week. -Neurological Consultation is performed by Neurologist, Dr. Cottrol. During your consultation visit, Dr. Cottrol will review diagnostic data to creative comprehensive Treatment Plan. If needed, depending on condition, Doctor will do “STAT” / “Wet” (immediate) reading. Dr. Cottrol will use assets and infrastructure of hospitals of Mount Sinai, NYC as well as NYU Medical Center. Dr. Cottrol is highly experienced and dedicated Board Certified Neurologist. Over the course of her 30 years career, Dr. Cottrol has treated a spectrum of Neurological and Neurophysiological disorders in a variety of settings including Emergency Rooms, Inpatient Units and Outpatient Clinics. Dr. Cottrol has been successfully treating patients with headaches, migraines, vertigo, fainting, syncope, epilepsy, convulsions; as well as patients with sleep disturbances. Dr Cottrol specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with cognitive impairment problems such as memory loss, dementia, post stroke and depression, by utilizing unique Electrophysiological evaluation (EVOX) technology.

Great doctor! Office staff was so far and effective. I loved iPad part - o was able to enter all my complaints. They were transferred to medical assistants and doctors. They kept credit card on file so I don’t have to wary about copayments. Doctor Cottrol is very personable and attentive. The best part is that I was able to do all tests here without waiting and going to ask different places. I’m very happy. Unique place. Big thanks to Wis front desk and Monica medical assistant.

I saw another doctor although I booked Dr Cheryl Cottrol. I would have appreciated been told that Dr. Cottrol was not the doctor that I was going to see. The doctor I saw did a good job.
The purpose for the visit wasn't adhered too. Prescribed psychotropic medication instead of treatment for the chronic condition patient went there for in the 1st place.
Great office, great staff, great doctor.
Overall staff treated me with complete respect but the waiting time was ridiculous I scheduled an appointment to be seen at 11.20am and was seen later on after 12.30pm I suffer from claustrophobia and I wasn't giving any examinations prior to what it states like performing all various test I wasn't giving any test for my neurological problems!
The end of the appointment was professional, but I wasn't greeted as I entered the office. The doctor also just yelled my name from the room which was hard to hear over the music. Not to mention people rudely coming in and out of the office and not apologizing until after a few minutes of discussion.

Didn’t seem like she cared
The staff is absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately I’ve never waited less than 2 hours for a 20 minute appointment in which I’ve had to ask for clarification and what next steps need to be taken.
Personally, I didn't like my visit there. The staff was very polite and attentive. They even offer you coffee and tea but the doctor I saw, awful! She was very quick to just give me a prescription without listening to my concerns. I felt I was being rush plus she's not organized. Her personal stuff like her sweater, bag and jacket were all over the floor. I didn't like that!
Seems like a scam type operation to me. Plenty of blood pressure temperature etc. Finally saw the doctor on second appointment where I was told I would need some other tests, not at the facility. Did not return. Very disappointed in this practice
The Doctor, physician, and nurse were great it's just the receptionist were very nasty and rude and unkind, unprofessional. If I really did not need their services I would never go back.
First time I met with her was a follow up. I had told her my symptoms and her reply was "Well - What can I do for you then?" How about help me. She brought me in for the follow up to go over test results. I had no tests done. It was a waste of time. I got the various tests done and was told to come in two weeks later. Came in for the second follow up and waited over an hour. Three other patients were waiting for her while she was doing who know's what. Probably eating lunch as the appointment was during lunch hours. I had to leave to get back to work after waiting an hour. I wouldn't go as the whole process was pretty much a waste of time. Her staff is very nice though.
She spoke using medical terms beyond my Grey's Anatomy education level. Not very personable. This practice has VERY nice desk staff which tricked me into thinking this was a great place to go. Every appt I had took around 2 hours, with lots of waiting. A ton of tests were ordered without any heads up about what they would cost me out of pocket which is more an issue with my insurance but it would be nice if they helped navigate that. I'm not sure how a non-medical professional with health insurance is supposed to know they're racking up a hefty bill by just doing what the doctor asks.
