Very friendly, very thorough and knowledgeable.
A very pleasant experience and the was so professional! I will return...
Great staff! Great Doc!!
After mixed experiences with medical professionals in the past, I was nervous that I wouldn't be taken seriously. I came into the appointment on the verge of tears because of the severity of my symptoms and came away feeling like I was heard and that we would find answers. I also felt the lab tech at the office was terrific. An overall excellent experience.
Very informative & genuinely concerned with my health issues.
She was so lovely and took plenty of time to address my concerns. I didn't feel rushed out of there and she gave me some really great information.
Awesome office staff and wonderful doctor. Highly recommend!!
I had a great experience with Dr. Purohit. She was very competent, well-spoken, kind, and professional.
Dr. Purohit was excellent. She took her time to explain everything, and the appointment did not feel rushed. Her office was very efficient as well---seen right away.
Dr. Purohit was very attentive and helpful. She listened to me and explained everything to me. I was very happy with my visit.
My first visit it took a long time for me to be seen by the doctor. But on my follow up visit the wait time was right a way!
My visit was very thorough and fast, and the doctor took her time to answer any questions I had.
Very good bedside manner - thorough questions, good advice, understood my frustrations with the process of seeing dr./being referred, etc. Would recommend highly!
Dr Purohit really listens to my mother. She does not assume people are going to do as she says. She understands older people do not like change.
I give this doctor my highest rating because she is knowledgeable, caring and thorough. The staff is top notch. It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish.
My wife highly recommend her for anyone. She was very nice to my wife.
She knew her stuff. Was apologetic for the wait.
Dr. Purohit was very kind and knowledgeable. Good explanations of my thyroid problems and answered all my questions.
Dr. Purohit apologized profusely for the wait (which was just a hair over 1 hour) and listened closely to my health concerns. I saw her because my regular endocrinologist is on leave, but I felt like there was good continuity of care.
Dr. Purohit has a bit of a negative attitude and seems to have an anti-fat bias, which is unfortunate given her specialty deals with obesity. Her responses to my initial questions were slightly hostile and she kept repeating "you may not want to hear this" in the first consultation. She had no idea what I was open to hearing. She assumed my attitude based on my appearance. She suggested dieting before fully hearing about my adrenal issues, but gave bad diet advice. I'm certainly not going to take diet advice from someone who thinks cheese is a carb. She had to look it up online to find out cheese is not a carb, and then told me to cut back on cheese anyway because it is high in fat. This suggests her anti-fat bias supersedes even her willingness to know accurate nutrition information. I would expect a lot more from someone whose specialty deals with obesity.
As far as the doctor, I really can't give that much of a review. The review is more about the office staff and how they treated me as a new patient. I made the appointment weeks before on ZocDoc leaving notes about how the insurance was to be handled (Veterans Affairs) then I called and spoke to the supervisor of the front desk to ensure she understood what I was asking for and to make sure they got the authorization. After finding out they got the wrong authorization I worked with the VA to ensure they had the right one. Went in for my appointment only to find out they did not receive the ZocDOC files that were sent 25 minutes prior to my appointment. Only the office manager has access to ZocDOC and both of them were out of the office. They could not find the correct authorization on file in my file. I stated I am not paying for this that the VA is and I am not going to be seen unless they can guarantee that I am not going to be billed and only the VA is going to be billed. I was called by the nurse right on time, yet because the front office was still dealing with this issue I could not be seen. Finally 30 more minutes (total 45 minutes) pass and I got in to see the doctor. I started talking to the Doctor for 5 minutes when we were interrupted by the front office staff. The Doctor spoke to the staff and then stated to me she would be back. Five minutes went by when I decided to find out what happened. I asked if the doctor was coming back and one of the nurses said yes, as soon as the front office figures out about your billing. I went to the front office and they had one of the Office managers on the phone. I spoke to the supervisor and stated this was uncalled for. 1. I called weeks ahead of time to get this squared away. 2. No call came from you guys to me stating there was any issue. 3. All front staff should have access to ZocDoc 4. This is how you treat new patients? 5. This is how you treat veterans? I'm highly upset!
I reached out to Dr. Purohit for a second opinion regarding a recent diagnosis and treatment plan. She was not only extremely knowledgeable, but she was approachable, friendly, understanding and she set my mind at ease. Not only was I able to book an appointment rather easily and quickly, but they also took me in right away and treated me so well. I would highly recommend Dr. Purohit and her office to anyone seeking an endocrinologist.
