He was understanding and reasonable and knew a lot about medicine. I felt like I was in good hands
Patient, caring and being my first time meeting David, I felt very comfortable!
Seemed knowledgeable based off first encounter but appointment was rushed and he failed to introduce himself or even lmk the appointment was over, just rushed out the door... Unsure at this point if I will return. Ladies working front desk were very polite.
He is a great individual to speak with about life problems and other dilemmas. I wish I still lived in the area so I may frequent his office again, but I highly recommend this doctor.
Mr Thornton is professional and knowledgeable. I have been seeing him more than a year now and I am very.
It went very well. I will certainly be returning.
I am happy about my visits. He suggests different medication therapy choices that I am not aware of. The office is very organized. Although the office is a little small the patient flow has always been efficient. Good choice!
I had my first visit with David today and not only was the staff friendly and prompt to attend to me, it David was very welcoming and thorough in discussing my needs and history, as well as what I can expect with future appointments.
I felt more uncomfortable after leaving his office than any other time in the past. I have been seeing him for almost a year now ..... He rushes you, barely listens, writes your script as your describing your problems, and is super unknowledgeable about the medications he prescribes, only making my problems worsen. ...he prescribes medicines that should not be prescribed to you (i.e ones i mentioned to him I had problems with in the past). Thus , I am unhappy with my visit
The clientele is a bit on the rough side, but other than that, it was a solid visit.
The office is well organized, caring and efficient. The space is a little tight but the office space for your appointment is not so all the claustrophobics should be fine. Overall you are cared for in a patient manner.
Being a NP, I think David could have chosen any setting in which to practice, but personally I am glad that he chose the field of psychiatric medicine. I believe David has a special gift when it comes to encouraging his patients to work toward mental and emotional wellness. You will find that he is gentle, compassionate, and really good at providing tools that you can implement in your own life. These tools can help you find the best version of yourself. His belief in his patient's abilities is evident. He can help direct you toward a more positive and productive balance in your life. He knows how to work with children and can speak to them on their level. I highly recommend him!
There's no point in filling out forms via Zocdoc because nobody looks at them and you will have to fill everything out all over again. This whole experience was kind of a waste of time.
David Thornton is always very nice, understanding and knowledgeable. I keep coming to this office although it is pretty far from my house because I feel comfortable here.
Always a pleasure dealing with David. Great person, straight to the point and has changed my life for the better.
Office staff was less than professional. David Thornton himself was overall helpful but I was not comfortable with him.
Long wait, and very surly front office staff. They don't take credit cards for copays so bring cash or check or be prepared to go across the street to the ATM. They don't seem to use the forms from Zocdoc and make you fill out a whole intake packet anyways. David himself was pleasant, professional, and thorough. I'd have maybe liked a few more minutes with him, but overall he was good.
David Thornton is, without a doubt, one of the best medical professionals I have received treatment from thus far. What really impresses me about him is how he has proven, time and again, to be even more knowledgeable than many of the doctors I've seen in the same field of medicine as him. Beyond his expertise, he has wonderful bedside manner. It is rare to find someone in the field of medicine who cares about his patients as much as David does. He is a delight to interact with and always listens attentively to what I have to say and gives careful thought about his treatment plan for me. Needless to say, I highly recommend David Thornton and am so grateful to be under his care.
NP David Thornton, or as I call him- Doctor Dave (even though he always corrects me saying he is not technically a doctor lol)- has phenomenal bedside manner; extremely tentative and always listening to how I am feeling. He gives me great advice that is always rooted in optimism and I always leave feeling very good about my visit- and most importantly: myself. I would highly reccoment him to anyone that asks for a great "Doctor"
Overall, I found my experience at the practice great! In the interest of full disclosure- It was around 20-30 minutes from when I arrived at the office until I was sitting with "Doc Dave", but that was entirely due to it being my first time ever going to that office- so therefore I needed to fill out a ton of new patient paperwork. Literally, within 45 seconds of me handing reception my completed clipboard, one of the girls (who- along with her co-worker- were both complete pleasures to interact with) had come to get me and escort me to David who was already in the room waiting for me to join him. "Doc Dave" (as I so affectionately named him- despite his enormous humbleness-instantaneously & seamlessly- always responding to me with clarification as his only agenda- that he is not an actual board-recognized Doctor) and I had excellent rapport right from the beginning. He always made me feel comfortable in opening up to him with full honesty (and I did so because of how he cared about making sure he was constantly earning my trust). Never did I feel like I was being judged for any of my downfalls or shortcomings- but instead- I left his office feeling positive & confident about my experience with "Doc D". ...and that right there: that is what you call an excellent practitioner; no if, ands, or buts about it. I would recommend Doc D to anyone and everyone. Period. (There is no reason to have to second guess or question his ability & competency in taking care of a patient) I never write reviews- but felt compelled to do so after the outstanding experience I had with David Thornton.
