Diana Barayeva, DO is a board certified Physiatrist and specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty in Sports Medicine. She was born in Russia and immigrated to the United States with her family at the age 7. She was accepted to attend a 7-Year Accelerated Medical Program at the New York Institute of Technology/ New York College of Osteopathic Medicine after graduating high school. During her medical rotations she decided to pursue a career in Physical medicine and rehabilitation to offer her patients a multidisciplinary approach that provides tools to help relieve pain, educate on safety, promote the healing process and help patients move toward rehabilitation and hopefully fuller, more meaningful lives.
Diana Barayeva, DO completed her Internship training at Northwell Plainview Hospital in 2013, and later moved on to complete her residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2016. Here she completed her training in Physical Medicine and the Rehabilitation focusing on spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, including concussions, musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries, pain management and electrodiagnostic testing. Her work led to several case presentations at the AAPMR, AAP and AOA Sports Medicine Conference along with abstracts/articles published in medical journals, such as the American Academy of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Journal and Association of Academic Physiatrists Journal.
