Dr. Donald Aptekar, MD
Dr. Aptekar started Partners in Women's Health in 1977. Since that time over 12,000 mothers/babies have been cared for by the doctors in the practice. He continues to be dedicatedto women's health care choices and offers abortion counseling and service. He is a national expert and speaker on the identification and management of Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Syndrome patients offering BRCA gene testing and high risk screening. Dr. Aptekar grew up in Detroit, went to college in Boston (Brandeis University), medical school at University of Michigan, and residency at the University of Colorado. He is a past president of the Colorado OB/GYN Society, past chairman of the medical board of Planned Parenthood, and Assistant Clinical Professor of OB/GYN at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Other interests include preserving and taking advantage of Colorado's extraordinary landscape through conservation efforts, hiking, biking, skiing, and avidly fly fishing. He is married and has two sons. His men's bookclub and family travel round out his schedule. Dr. Aptekar practices obstetrics and gynecology.
