About Dr. Donald Tsynman
A native New Yorker, Dr. Tsynman joined Manhattan Gastroenterology in 2016. He is a clinical instructor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and has attending privileges at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital. He is double board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He has been voted by his peers as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor as well as a New York Super Doctor. He is the recipient of the prestigious Presidential Award of the American College of Gastroenterology as well as the Fellowship2Leadership Academic grant. Dr. Tsynman is most proud of having been honored with The Patient’s Choice Award, which recognized his expertise and commitment to outstanding patient care. Prioritizing patient care while providing education is inherent to his approach to medicine and permeates each patient-doctor relationship that is created. Dr. Tsynman attended Stuyvesant High School prior to completing his undergraduate degree at The University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tsynman went on to receive his medical degree and then graduate first in his class from the Portland, Maine campus of St. Matthew’s University where he earned his medical doctorate. Dr. Tsynman returned to Philadelphia to complete his training in Internal Medicine at Hahnemann Drexel University Hospital before returning to New York to complete his advanced training and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Rochester. Dr. Tsynman is an avid adventure traveler. He is fluent in English, Russian, and Spanish and in his spare time enjoys exploring his hometown of New York with his family and friends.

I'm always impressed how Dr. T remembers every aspect of my life when I go and see him. He remembers things about my job and my hobbies that I forgot I even told him! He is a great doctor that also makes me feel like I'm being cared for by a friend. It's hard to find a doctor in the city who takes the time to understand you , Dr. T is really great at that!
Dr Tsynman was super professional, transparent, and insightful. He encouraged me to ask questions and conducted my visit efficiently. The office is also very nice!

Dr. Tsynman is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met! He really listened and took my concerns into account. He also made sure I have realistic expectations (which I appreciate) and considered solutions going beyond his specific area of expertise. Would highly recommend this doctor!
Always helpful and informative!
Dr. Tsynman was polite and his staff was helpful, but I had several problems with him and overall a bad experience. When I mentioned some difficulties I was experiencing due to a recent switch in health insurance he claimed “I don’t know anything about insurance.” Which may be true but is not helpful or comforting when a patient is having a difficult time dealing with insurance. Dr. Tsynman then told me he could not perform my necessary treatment in the office and referred to several other doctors, who were either not seeing patients or not currently practicing at the same locations, so this was not helpful. He also recommended blood tests he claimed he could not perform in the office and sent me to a Quest to have them done. Before and since this I have always been able to have my blood drawn in an office upon the visit. Lastly, Dr. Tsynman performed an invasive procedure on me without informing me first and I still have yet to get any results. Overall, I highly discourage anyone from visiting his practice.

I've seen other GI doctors who have not given me the proper attention and treatment - so seeing Dr. Tsynman was extremely refreshing. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Donald Tsynman was amazing. Words can not express how happy I am that I made my GI appointment with Dr. Tsynman at Manhattan Specialty care. I was on a mission to find out why I was having so much GI issues and I felt at ease when talking to Dr. Tsynman. He answered all my questions as well as gave me answers on why certain things can be happening. Very thorough, knowledgeable, kind, and just down right amazing. I have went to 4 different gastroenterologist and I was given the same answers all the time. (Just eat more fiber) they would tell me. But with Dr. Tsynman he went the extra step for me and informed me of allergies I didn't know I had, extra testing so we could get to the root of the problem. I have had GI issues since a baby and I feel with Dr. Tsynman that all my issues will be solved and my suffering will be over. The Front desk Staff Indira and Shani was amazing. Very nice, great customer service and answered all my questions about the paperwork I was filling out. I also came 40 mins early and was assisted right away. Kim the medical assistant amazing as well, very nice, great customer service, and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions that I had with the take home test and very patient. I would recommend Dr. Tsynman and Manhattan Specialty Care to every one that I know.

Dr. Tsynman is an incredibly kind and thoughtful provider. Excellent bedside manner, very respectful, and a great listener. He explains everything in detail and has wonderful staff members that do the same. The overall experience was amazing. It was my first time ever seeing a gastroenterologist and I was incredibly nervous, but his kindness and genuine care put me at ease. The nurse/tech (I’m not sure of her title) that drew my blood and set up my next appointment & procedures is absolutely wonderful as well. Like I said, overall it was an amazing experience and I can’t recommend this office enough!
Dr. Tsynman was fantastic. The office staff took me a few minutes after I signed in and was incredibly friendly. He was incredibly friendly and asked the right questions to help get me settled and understand my case. His warm demeanor and jokes made me feel at open and able to openly talk with him.

Dr. Tsynman was amazing! He took time to go over everything with me and knew that I needed a higher level of care that he couldn’t provide, so he recommended some people to me to try to help me better manage my illness. I really wish I could have stayed with him as my doctor, but I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone with a great personality and who knows his stuff! He also recommended a medication for me to try in the meantime and gave me a ton of samples since my insurance may not cover it!

My experience with Dr Tsynman is 5 Stars
Dr. Tsynman is intelligent, competent, attentive, and overall just an amazing physician. He personally calls before and after office hours just to give me an update regarding my test results. He is an expert in his field and only recommends a procedure when it is necessary. He is not pretentious and is extremely thorough. The best part is that his office checked up on me months after my medical procedures just to make sure that I am well. The girls that work there are professional. Dr. Tsynman genuinely cares about his patients. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I am always nervous and uncomfortable going to the doctors for any reason. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by two beautiful smiling faces. Dr. Tsynman had excellent bedside manner. He made me feel at ease and made the experience a positive one.

I’ve been treated by dr. Tsynman for sometime now, he managed to help me with my pain and sickness. He is patient and knowledgeable and always explain the cause of pain and ways to treat it, in a language that is easy to understand. He makes sure all my questions are answered and I never feel rushed.
I waited a short time(I got there 10mins before my appointment) and the staff and doc was very nice. Coffee and water available, the waiting counches we're comfortable and the entire office looked very nice and clean. The doctor was very nice, professional, and personable. He was very friendly, I didn't feel rushed and he answered all of my questions and concerns. Staying with this doc as long as needed. Highly recommend so far!
