Dr Abel is competent, helpful, and caring. I couldn't be happier.
Dr Abel is the epitome of a professional and caring doctor.
She spent less than 10 minutes for 5 problems that I brought up without proper discussion for my satisfaction.
It was good!
Dr. Abel is great!
I was diagnosed for exactly what I thought I had and the Dr. Took care of it in office. I'm hoping not to have to go back a second time. She was professional and quick once I made it into the room. It would have been nice to receive a call letting me know she was behind so I could have worked the extra 30 min instead of just sitting in the waiting room.
the staff needs to get their at together. Dr. Abel is an excellent doctor whom I will continue to see in spite of the office staff.
I was there at least 1/2 hour earlier than my appointment time - I don't mind even if I have to wait a little but I didn't have to wait that long after my appointment time.
I wait to wait almost an hour. Doctor came in and talked to me for a few minutes and then left to get something. Came back about 15 minutes later and talked to assistant and left again and returned to give me some treatment after another 10 minutes went by. I was there for almost 2 hrs. in the late afternoon. I don't understand the long wait as the waiting room was not full when I arrived.
As always Dr Abel is the consumate professional.
She and her assistant are both great listeners and very professional.
She seemed nice enough, but largely checked out for the day, which was disappointing after waiting an hour.
Very pleasant. Took care of my issues.
I went in to ask about a skin concern and left with a quote for plastic surgery. Some people may appreciate a one stop shop but in my case it was a little disappointing. I'm curious what a doctor that didn't have an onsite plastic surgery center would have suggested I do to treat the skin issue.
Doc was great. Wait time was not. I was 5 mins late for 3PM appointment but was not seen until 4PM. Do doctors punish patients who are a tad late?
I come from Albuquerque, NM to see Dr. Abel. We have many good dermatologists there but I feel very comfortable when she examines me and gives me her opinion. She not only is nationally known in her field but is a very caring and kind physician. I have been an RN for 50+ years, have had many skin issues because of a red-haired father and living in the desert. It is very important to me to see the very best physician I can. Thank you Dr. Abel.
Abel is a super professional, experienced, gentle, nice lady, the entire experience is very good, I feel comfortable to talk about my issue and she helped me out.
She is very professional. Saw me right away and prescribed what was needed. In and out in no time!
Office seemed very disorganized. Office wait more than one hour. Visit was short and perfunctory, but ok. Don't go unless you've got some time to wait.
It was quite an unpleasant experience. I was forced to wait for over an hour without warning that it may be the case (I took time out of work to see the doctor). During consultation, doctor kept using unfamiliar terminology without explanation and was very vague about her instructions on what I should do to alleviate my condition. I left her practice more confused than coming in.
Dr Abel is a good doctor with good knowledge and patience. We have been with her for more than 10 years.
I am pleased that Dr. Abel has lunchtime appointments. Since I work relatively close, it is so much easier to just pop in at lunchtime especially if I'm just doing a routine mole check. The front office was very pleasant and professional and I didn't have a very long wait. The Dr did perform a minor procedure right there at the office. I am glad that she was able to take care of it right away and it was fast and easy and I didn't have to make another appointment to take care of it.
They were running way behind. It would be good if they called the patients to give us an option to reschedule or arrive later. Our time is valuable too! Dr. Abel was very good and I recommend her.
She was immensely helpful. Knew right away that I'd a poison oak rash. Loved it!
I'm a long term patient of Dr. Abel. She's very attentive and easy to talk to. She answers all my questions and concerns. I appreciate the free WIFI in the waiting area. However, I don't like the TV sets on while I'm waiting to be seen.
She explained a lot and did so clearly.
Plan your visit. Book in advance
Just an annual check-up. Went smoothly.
I waited over 1hr to see Doctor Abel for 5min. They did not confirm the appointment even though I received confirmation email. Personally I will not use this service again but call Doctor's office. It's ridiculous to come to the office and be told we didn't confirm it. Very frustrating!
She's very good at her job. Top rate. Very professional and collaborative.
Not so pleasant, no one is paying attention to my note prior the visit, so when I got there only found out that I can't have the treatment same day which I specifically stated there. So I have to pay out of my own pocket without any treatment, but to be told come back next Friday when the only nurse who does it works at this location. Plus, the nurse is actually out that day, and only available the following Friday, which is 2 weeks from now! I will find other clinic instead. BTW, Dr. Abel is good although she can't help me this time, and tried to minimize my office visit bill since I have to pay all by myself, appreciate that.
Good visit. Questions answered. Didn't feel rushed.
Really nice Docotor! Listens to all your concerns and gives free samples & savings cards when available! Very knowledgeable. Excellent!
Very good, The wait time was very unusual for her.
I happy that I met Dr Elizabeth, and she helped me to recover in no time. Awesome
I guess she is worth the wait :)
Dr Abel is great- knowledgeable and friendly. My only gripe is that I waited 50 minutes to get into the office.
I had an excellent experience with Dr Abel. This was my second attempt with a recommended dermatologist and it was much more thorough and things were explained very well.
Great!! Awesome! She thought of a lot of treatments for a difficult to treat condition.
Very professionally. Listened to what I had to say. Provided medical.advice. and hope my rash clears up.
Extremely satisfied with the clinic and with Dr Abel
I was nervous and she put me at ease.
Dr. Abel is very professional and I don't feel rushed when I'm in for an exam. I trust her completely!
Wait time was extremely long. Dr. Abel was professional. I was prescribed a brand name topical cream. My insurance did not cover it as I had stated during my visit with Dr. Abel. I called Dr. Abel's office and requested for them to change the prescription to a generic alternative. However, the nurse who answered my call refused, and said they have to wait for the pharmacy to fax them the request in "couple of days". She claimed that the pharmacy automatically contacts the doctor's office. Never have I had so much trouble changing a prescription and in such an inefficient way. My past experiences at other offices is they simply contact the pharmacy in a timely manner to change the prescription instead of passively waiting for the pharmacy to contact them. Please consider changing this inefficient "procedure" of changing prescriptions for patients. Also, I would recommend Dr. Abel allowing patients to contact her directly via email. My regular physicians at Palo Alto Medical Foundation provide this option, and it makes the doctor-patient experience exponentially better and more efficient.
Dr Abel was efficient, and addressed all of my concerns (3) in a single visit, which not all dermatologists will do!
Office mixed up my appoitment date. I signed up for 7/24/12 but the receptionist told me my appointment was 7/26/12
Talking to the doctor is fine, but the wait time is very long. I waited for 1 hour and 15 min. I've seen the doc 3 times for consistency, the shortest wait time among the 3 was 40 minutes. If you don't mind the wait time, I say go ahead and try Dr Able. If you are tight on a schedule, this is probably not the best clinic for you.
She was very pleasant, knowledgable and helpful. I made an appointment for a follow up visit.
Not very friendly and not very clear regarding treatment. Not very sensitive or caring. We were not made to feel special, important or appreciated. We will NOT return although she was presumptious that we would follow up with her.
I waited 40 minutes just to be seen for 15 minutes. The sound on the tv's in the waiting room was loud and distracting making it hard to read or concentrate.
She's clear, practical and responsive.
She didn't seem like she really didn't care that much about my situation.
I waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and another 20 in an examination room for a 3 minute appointment
Dr. Able is professional, helpful, caring and warm. I will see her again.
I was put in a room 25 minutes after my appointment time. I was finally seen 40 minutes after my appointment time. This is disrespectful and unacceptable. Dr. Abel is pleasant, performed a thorough exam and gave me good instruction for the future, but I doubt that I'll go back.
I think Dr. Abel is a capable dermatologist. Today's appointment was a quick check up + prescription refill and it all went smoothly. Dr. Abel recommended a treatment for something I wasn't asking for but I was happy that she noticed and recommended the treatment. The only downside was the wait time - I got there at 3:35, was lead into the exam room around 4:10, and wasn't seen until after 4:30. The appointment took much longer than I had originally anticipated.
I drove 2 hrs to go see Dr. Able because I felt she had so much experience in the dermatology field especially in cancer. I've been seen by other dermatologist in the past and never felt that comfort with them. Dr. Abel was easy to talk with and very reassuring. She was very thorough in her screening; she didn't miss anything. She even looked at the bottom of my feet, hands, fingers and nails. Than she documented everything for future reference. wow, it was a really good experience and I'm thankful that I found the ZocDoc website that helped me locate her.
Very professional and easy to visit.
Dr. Abel is very professional. For skin problems, she is definetly a right person to look for help.
This was a return visit due to my being dissatisfied with a botox treatment a month earlier. I felt very well taken care of by Dr. Abel, who took the time to bring in another doctor for a consultation. I appreciated her concern and honesty as regards the procedure, and felt my concerns were treated with respect.
I really liked Dr. Abel, but the office atmosphere was busy to the point of hectic. I had to wait 60 minutes to see the doctor, and they gave me the wrong prescription when I checked out, which I didn't notice and now have to return. It is also not very easy to reach a live person when calling the office.
Fit me in at short notice but too long wait after appointment time.
Dr. Abel was very nice. As we discussed multiple issues, I quickly became overwhelmed with my many solutions (prescriptions). I received many prescriptions with coupons, which I appreciate. I would also have liked the directions for all issues to be provided to ensure that I don't get confused. Dr. Abel assured me I can call if I have any questions, and that the pharmacist can also advise. I will see her in six weeks.
Good visit. Thorough exam. Good communication.
