Happy to finally meet Mr Mandrea. The BEST dermatologist in Chicago. He also speak my language. What could be better than this.
Very professional and quick
I never like waiting more than 15 minutes for my appointment. My wait was just short of an hour. That's too long.
So far I like what he told me, I'm starting the treatment today.
Was able to solve a problem that other doctors had struggled to address.
I loved doctor Eugene Mandrea he made me feel very comfortable and showed that he actually cared about my concerns then just taking my money. Can't wait for my procedure.
Very pleased. Dr & staff were wonderful.
Don't bother filling out the ZocDoc forms online as they're not the right ones and you'll have to do them all again.
A good experience in an excellent facility and reasonably priced as a self-pay.
What a great doctor. He explained everything to me in detail but without going on and on. I got in and out and learned something, too! I'll definitely be back.
It was good, the wait was a little long. Dr. Eugene Mandrea is very professional and addressed my issues
He was very kind and understanding. Did not make me feel uncomfortable.
We liked the "old school" type of care but did not like the long wait to see the doctor. Our appointment was at 12:45. We got there at 12:30 and did not see the doctor until 1:35.
My visit was quick, easy and to the point. One complaint I have is being prescribed 2 tubes of a medication cream when 1 was certainly enough for the small incision I had done for my biopsy.
Excellent. Very nice Doctor.
I saw other negative reviews after I made appointment for my mother and was concerned about still going. I am glad we did. We had no issues with anyone from doc to staff. New facility and clean. Yes the doctor is older but was professional and kind. I commend him on still working. This was Palos Hts..
I have been to multiple dermatologists and Eugene was the best I've had by far. He actually spends time with you talking about why and how things will work as opposed to the get in/get out meetings I've experienced in the past. Unfortunately I had to relocate, but I definitely recommend him to people in the Chicago area.
I'm writing this out of true exasperation. Two weeks ago, went in as a new patient. Dr Mandrea is incredibly knowledgable, experienced, and approachable. The entire other process is awful. First day went and did all the blood work to start a new medication. Heard nothing. Called them a little over a week later, they say he wants a pregnancy test. Go in that day, do a urine preg, great. Get a call a few hours later, oh no, he wanted a blood urine pregnancy test. Frustrated, as this could have been done day 1. Go next day, do the blood pregnancy test. Hear nothing for a week. Call them today around 10, lady is dismissive and says an MA will return my call. MA returns my call at 5:30, message wasn't correctly relayed, my blood results are not in (find hard to believe), and could I call them tomorrow to follow up since the lab is closed. So we are 2.5 weeks from where we started, with all this back and forth, with no end in sight. I don't believe this is the MD, I think the office is just poorly managed. If you are a taskmaster and don't mind hounding folks down to get what you came in for, he's a great doctor. If you would like an office that is a little more self sufficient, this wouldn't be the place.
Cool Doctor and easy to talk to.
The doctor was kind and considerate. Staff was good and efficient.
He knew what he was talking about, but he's a little too intense for me.
The first vist went great! And almost no wait! He's a great doctor!
I was extremely impressed an the dr is one the best Excellent dr
Really appreciated the time Dr. Eugene M spent on looking me over and understanding my medical history. I have a semi rare allergy to an ingredient found in most cremes/lotions, Dr. Eugene, spent time calling manufactures, Googling products, and researching what I can an cannot use. I find most doctors typically have their assistants do this. He then followed up the next day, confirming he reached out to a manufacture and found a product I am able to use - after already suggesting I could use something else that may not be as effective (so he could have easily bypassed this step) I've been back and forth from allergists to dermatologists for over 5 years so I understand when a doctor is rushing or truly trying to resolve the issue. Dr. Eugene Mandrea was working to resolve. (I cannot speak on the other doctors at the office). Highly recommend him - Very sweet man as well!
I ended up seeing Dr. Fine instead. She was wonderful! Very knowledgable, calm, and made me feel extremely comfortable. I highly recommend her!
Dr Mandrea was called on an emergency Dr Fine took his place and did an excellent job!
Other than the wait time, my experience with Dr. Mandrea was very positive. I was treated very respectfully by the staff and Dr. Mandrea made me feel very comfortable and reassured.
Dr Mandrea and his staff were wonderful. Welcoming, warm, prompt and professional.
Dr. Mandrea was very nice. He gave a great explanation as to how to apply the medication for my daughter.
He was good. Experienced. Knowledgeable. His assistant really did a great job of catering to the doctor's every need. Very impressed with the assistant's patience and ability to take initiative, like he knew what the doctor was about to ask for before even having to ask.
Older doctor but a good one.
Very thorough and nice man.
He interrupted me multiple times while explaining things, but had good things to say and logic to back it all... Lets see how some of his treatments go...
It took over an hour to see the doctor and finish the exam, which itself took 5 minutes. The woman before me had been waiting over an hour as well. Not sure why it took so long as no one offered any explanation.
The atmosphere is nice. The people are nice and friendly. They take your appointment right away. I would recommend this place to anyone.
I am happy with the results that I am seeing on my face. Dr. Mandrea is a great dermatologist. I would definately recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Mandela is awesome! No nonsense, convivial and a humorous approach that makes patients feel secure. Awesome dermatologist.
It was an excessive wait... but, the Dr. was friendly. I'm willing to take his word, and try his treatment. This was my first visit. So, other than the wait, I was satisfied.
Dr. Mandrea was by far the worse doctor I have ever visited. His bedside manner was terrible and he didn't explain anything. Complete waste of my time and money.
He was very knowledgeable and was able to immediately diagnose my condition whereas general practitioners have not been able to. My only regret is not seeing him sooner.
I had to go back because the symptoms didn't go away. He is a nice doctor and respectful. His recommendation of showering less was a little strange but I ultimately resolved the issue by tanning.
Very nice doctor. Very knowledgeable.
Great experience! I had been to my doctor twice to know avail. Within the first few minutes of meeitng with Dr. Mandrea, he was able to tell me what was going on. I walked away with peace of mind and knowing I am in the capable hands of a knowledgable and professional doctor!
I did not feel comfortable during this appointment. The doctor was distant and awkward. He essentially asked me no questions about my condition at all and made some weird remarks about it being good that I wasn't planning on a career in sports or restaurants because of my hand sweating problem- when, I had gone there with the assumption that the problem would be treated and lessened, obviously. So weird. I will be requesting a different doctor for further appointments.
I like the father better than the son. Both are very professional doctors but doctor Eugene is my favorite as he doesn't enter the patient room with an entourage of medical students. It allows you to speak open about your medical needs. Makes me feel way more comfortable.
Dr Mandrea was very attentive. Examined issue and discussed alternatives and procedure.
He was very thorough in his examination, had a sense of humor and was very clear with his directives for treatment. My daughter went to see him for warts.
My visits with Dr.Mandrea have been very productive
Did not explain anything that he was thinking/doing regarding my consultation/treatment. Left very confused and unsatisfied, and the treatment that he gave me did not work on my skin. I think he seems nice but I think may be a little out of touch on what it means to work with patients. If you are like me and like a good relationship with your care providers, I do not recommend.
Went at the end of the day so of course there was a wait (25 to go back, 10 more once I got in the room) but Dr Mandrea was very knowledgeable and courteous.
More than an hour late with no apology until asked when I would be seen. Was told that this wait period was typical.
Mandrea has the most years of experience around.
Very professional from the reception to the doctor.. On time no wait , it's was a good experience
He was very impersonal. He barely look at my condition or pictures before prescribing me meds. I felt the intent was to get me in and out with nothing more than a bandaid. I did fortunately manage to get a prescription to see an allergist. sorry. I wouldnt recommend him at all. no bedside manners or real treatment.
It was very knowledgeable.
He addressed my concerns and I will be seeing him again.
Very knowlegeable and he addressed the problem. He has gained a patient!
Went very smoothly.
Very good service
Dr. Mandrea is wonderful as well as the staff - very friendly and thorough. The wait time was slightly on the long side, about 40 minutes. Regardless I was very happy with the care I received.
very happy with my experience today
He did what needed to be done and was very curtious. No small talk and that's a good trait to have.
So happy I went to him. After a lot of dermatologists and misdiagnosis he is definitely the best. Love that he didn't push medications either.
One of the best people you can go to for dermatoligy problems and he is an expert in his field. Once of Illinois top doctors.
The nurses at Dr. Mandrea's are incredibly nice and have amazing bedside manner. Dr. Mandrea himself is an absolute pleasure; I was having 2 biopsy's taken, and the nurses and doctor made me feel so at ease and taken care of. I saw people comment that he's too old for the job? That's insane! THIS is the doctor that you want taking care of your health! Not some fresh kid out of school that's only been practicing a few years! Dr. Mandrea is experienced, knowledgeable and has seen everything in his experience. I did have to wait a little while before seeing the doctor but not a big deal and completely worth it. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
ZocDoc let me down on this one. His reviews were pretty decent and his schedule was open so I thought I'd give him a try. Dr. Mandrea is ENTIRELY too old to be practicing. He had to be walked into the exam room by an assistant. Then he spoke so slowly and incoherently, I just sat there with a blank stare. I looked to his medical assistant to translate. He then handed me a piece of paper with "SPF100 Nutregena sun screen" written on it, and then walked out of the exam room. What?! I had to stop him and say, "Ok, what? What are next steps? What's the prognosis? What just happened?" He stepped back in and said "Call me if you need anything, anytime." Um, yeah, how about an exam?!? I left with a terrible taste in my mouth. He was very short with me, did not take the time to communicate with me, and overall it was a bewildering and upsetting experience. No wonder his schedule was wide open. Go ANYWHERE else.
Very patient, kind and knowledgable. Definitely would recommend him!
Very courteous staff and the Doctor was very thorough and knowledgeable.
I just loved him! He explained everything in detail, was patient and attentive. He build trust right from the start. I am excited to go forward with his lead and advise.
He is best doctor
The visit went smoothly. A few questions some directions and out the door.
Very thorough and spends a lot of time with you to really explain the condition and the treatment. Highly recommend him!
He does a thorough exam and very sure of himself. I'm sure he has seen it all with his wealth of experience.
He seemed very knowledgably and was quite friendly.
Very thorough and clear
He was in an out in less than 5 minutes and didn't provide me with any useful assistance. I would not recommend him to anyone else.
Hes to old for the job.
This was my first visit with a dermatologist, and I had no idea what to expect. I was extremely impressed with Dr. Mandrea and his staff. I will definitely schedule an appointment for an annual check-up.
He was nice, very straight forward & knowledgable. Kept things to the point, which wasn't a problem for me. Gave me a solution based on my concerns, which was nice. I'll be going back!
Felt like the dr was more than experienced . Friendly staff . Sent in my prescriptions in a timely manner . Highly recommended
Nice and informative.
Helped clear acne I have had for years! Love this man
