I had an appointment for 1045am and wasn't seen until 2p. Although the nurse and the receptionist were pleasant, the doctor was not very apologetic for the wait time it felt rushed. I waited 3 hrs to be seen for less than 10 min. I will be looking for another primary care doctor
This office has a very friendly staff, and even though busy, has a spacious waiting room that doesn't feel stuffy or sickening like so many other places. The 1.5 hour wait for my appointment was rapidly offset by the best annual checkup I have ever had in my life, conducted by a stellar Nurse Practitioner of the office who was more thorough, enlightening, engaged, than any MD or NP I've ever come across, and made me feel completely comfortable and unjudged. Somewhere else, you can wait the same amount of time to have a fifteen minute once-over. I feel like this is the experience that people seek when they say "I'm going to the doctor for my annual." Thank you all!
3 hours wait. Ridicolous
He never got back with me on my results and the waiting room was full and took forever after my appointment was to take me back. He googled things in front of me.
Dr. Bobis has a professional bedside manner and gave a very thorough physical exam. Highly recommended!
He and his staff are lovely.
Great doctor! Takes his time with everyone reason for the wait I believe. He was definitely worth the wait.
I decided to see DR. Bobis based on his great reviews despite the wait time complaints. I thought maybe it was a little exaggerated but boy was I wrong! My first appt was at 10:30am and I wasn't seen until 1pm. My results follow up appt was also scheduled at 10:30am and I am yet to be seen ( it's currently 1pm) to get my results!!! I would have liked to make him my permanent doctor because he is a great doctor and very professional but the wait time is a deal breaker for me. Make sure you take the day off from work or any errands if you are going book him. This is with no exaggeration.
It was quite a wait....but worth it, to see a doctor like Dr. Bobis! He is lovely and really shows concern, plus, he seems to really know what he's talking about! His office staff is lovely as well, and Rosa, who draws the blood and does EKG's, is a real gem! I will definitely keep seeing this doctor.
Pros: Okay. This doctor will be the most thorough doctor you have ever experienced in your life. He will sit with you for an hour going over everything and afterwards you will go through tests, if needed, just to make sure he has as close to a 100% depiction of your health. Never, ever, have I had such a pleasant experience in NYC with a doctor nor have I felt my health was in better hands. Cons: Wait time... Because he treats every patient so diligently. You will be there for hours. Not 1, not 2, maybe 3+ hours waiting. My appointment was at 10: 30 m and I was seen at 1: 30 pm. Bring the lord of the rings trilogy with you, because you might finish it before you're seen but hey, at least you'll be your healthiest self.
Dr. Bobis is the kind of doctor you dream of -- patient, kind, super smart, graduate of one of the finest medical schools, listens well and explains things perfectly. After just one visit I have decided that he will be my primary care physician. The day I met him was a lucky day indeed.. As for the complaints of long waits,-- in New York City long waits are very common. Bring a book..
Dr is professional, caring, and very friendly and attentive. Staff is also nice and helpful. Waiting time however needs to be much much less. Over 4 hours should not be any kind of norm anywhere.
Dr. Bobis was extremely thorough, friendly and transparent. The wait was long (around 40 minutes) but it was worth it for such great care.
Dr. Bobis is great, however they book and over book patients. I arrived at 10:20 for a 10:30 appointment and wasn't seen until nearly 1pm.
My 2nd visit and i really like him. He makes you feel comfortable and answers all your questions. Im keeping him as my general practitioner
Doctor Bobis is the ideal Doctor anyone would want to visit. Really caring, really detailed with diagnosis and responses. Will definately continue with Doctor Bobis as a general doctor.
Excellent, thoughtful Doctor. Very efficient & informative visit. I appreciate his bedside manner & treatment.
My first visit to see Dr. Bobis, I really liked him. He took out the time to talk and make me feel comfortable. Definetly keeping him as my primary doctor.
Again. Great doctor but the wait time is ridiculous. You shouldn’t wait over 2 hours to see a doctor. Especially just to get results which last just a few minutes.
Dr. Bobis was extremely professional and kind. The only con was the hour and thirty minute wait to be seen. Aside from that, great experience with the doctor.
I have never felt more cared for, more listened to, and more respected by a doctor in my LIFE. I’m not sure what his intentions are for getting into medicine but I believe he has a passion for treating people, especially those who may not have access to high quality doctors in Washington Heights. Full disclosure: I waited 2.5 hours to see him. This is not someone you want to see in a time crunch. And to be honest, it’s unprofessional. I have two theories for why this happens: there is a doctor who works in the same practice that rushes patients and averages no more than 15-20 minutes per patient, no matter the issue. Dr. Bobis is newer to the practice and I believe he’s trying to make a statement by being extremely attentive to patients. When I was waiting, alongside 10 other women, the other doctor in the practice was available and had been for a few hours. No one in the waiting room wanted to see him because Dr. Bobis offers far superior care. My other theory: Dr. Bobis appointments are ONLY 15 minutes apart on ZocDoc. They should be spaced at least an hour apart but the receptionist team continues to schedule them too close together. Anyway, there are wonderful doctors in the world and this is definitely one of them. If you’ve been shuffled around by doctors who don’t care about your issues, he is one to see....if you are willing to wait 2-4 hours.
I been seeing Dr. Bobis for about a month and a half. I recommend him to everyone. He is caring, kind, smart, he knows his stuff and over all he makes you feel like there's hope when your sick. I went to him when I was feeling really sick and I have to say after being treated by him; I feel much better these days If you need a doctor then stop looking and go to Dr. Bobis!!
Dr.Bobis was very pleasant took his time listen to all my health issues and ordered all the necessary test to address all concerns that I had.
The visited was excellent.. Dr. Bobis took his time with me eve though I was in the rush and he took the time to listen to me so carefully. I like him as a doctor first time and I highly recommend, excellent doctor , each doctor should be like him with a sense of humility and passion on the career.
Extremely happy with this doctor!
I wish he would get is own private practice. He’s a great doctor but the wait time is horrible.
Dr. Bobis was great but the wait time is really long. I will go back but now I know to prepare for a long wait.
Lovely service. Doctor takes his time with patients.
Great doctor super through.
The staff was friendly and efficient. Dr. Bobis was straight forward, knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely come back.
Very thorough. Good doctor.
Dr. Bobis was very kind, respectful and informative! I had an amazing experience with his student intern as well. I was surprised by their professionalism while retaining a down to earth, homey vibe. The practitioner who drew blood was also phenomenal! I’m not a fan of needles but I didn’t feel the prick nor when she removed it! My allergy testing hurt more and that didn’t even hurt! And she drew four vials! This office is amazing, fun and friendly! Thank you guys so much! There was a bit of a wait but considering how many patients were in the whole process was very efficient!
Very nice, caring and helpful doctor. The wait time is very long. I waited over 2 hours.
Ok so I was there last week (11/21) and wasn’t seen by Dr. Bobis because he was on vacation, I was seen by the Nurse Practitioner, she was awesome. Had a great experience. Today (11/29) my experience was the worse! My appointment was scheduled for 10:15am so I arrived at 10:00am because that’s just how I was taught by mom. Didn’t get seen until 12:35pm!!!!! To me it is extremely unacceptable to make anyone wait that long to be seen specially when they make an appointment!!! What’s the point of making an appointment if you’re not going to see someone at their schedule time! I understand waiting 15 or maybe even 30 minutes, BUT TWO AND A HALF HOURS!?!?!? Come on!!! Mind you Dr. Bobis was out again so I had to see another nurse practitioner!!!
Great experience. So glad I went. The nurse practitioner that saw me was great! She listen to what I had to say. I didn’t feel rushed which makes me feel like the doctor cares about me.
Although it was my first time seeing Dr. Bobis, the reviews on him are true to the T. He is thorough no doubt about that. He takes the time to get to know the history and assess his patients. You can tell he's genuinely concerned for his patients and truly cares. The only downfall is the ridiculous wait time. For someone that has worked at a doctors office before their system in scheduling needs to improve. I know it can be difficult especially if done by zoc doc because it's separate from the office schedule. But overall for it being my first visit with him I can say I am satisfied. I have never had a doctor spent that much time even though he was behind to understand my concerns. Oh and can't forget about the older lady who drew my blood!!! Amazing!!! May god bless her hands. I normally have a bruise the next day after getting my blood drawn but with her you can't even see where the needle went in. Overall I will make Dr. Bobis my primary for good.
Dr. Bobis was very warm and friendly. He asked me everything in detail in order to know what exactly was going on and he makes very good suggestions on how you can take better care of your health.
Dr Bobis is supersmart and so is the staff. Very friendly and professional. Great visit, excited about being a patient here.
Very attentive. Addressed all my concerns. Very patient and demonstrates caring for patients. Really takes his time to make you feel like you're being taken care of.
Doctor was good, waited over 2.5 hours to see him though and reception staff went home. Had a confirmed appointment.
The physician is thorough, but the wait time is too long. The student NP needs to work on getting comfortable with patients.
Very professional and helpful
Like many other people have said-Dr. Bobis is excellent and worth the wait. Try to get an early appointment as he can very behind on his schedule. Bring something to do while you wait. Again excellent provider that is worth it!
Great office! Friendly and helpful staff. Extremely professional environment. Dr. Bobis is a great health professional. Highly recommend
The wait time continues to be awful no matter how early you get there, but the nurse practitioner on staff is amazing, highly recommend!
Patient. Doesn't rush you. Thorough. Great nurse practitioner and doctor. Very impressed.
Massive fan of Dr. Bobis! He was incredibly thorough, kind, and informative. I felt remarkably comfortable talking with him and I'd highly recommend
The doctor is great, the wait time is ridiculously long but I rather wait and be seen by a knowledgeable doctor than go to a mediocre one. Thanks Dr. Bobis!
I walked into my appointment extremely nervous and didnt know what to expect. Dr. Fernando stripped my fears away moments after the introduction. He was an amazibg listener and gave priceless feedback. So excited for my follow up to see how we can make me more healthy. I hightly recommend people to visit Dr. Fernando Bobis specially if you have health fears as myself.
First time here, LOVED the doctor's attention and willingness to help and understand my entire medical history, I have found a doctor for life. Highly reccommend, & definitely worth the wait!
Really long wait. Not worth it.
Great doctor br the wait time is always over 30-45 minutes after tour appointment
I was very impressed with his attentiveness, concerns and careplan. Its my first visit and I have exams lined up to rewirw my overall basline. So far, so good! Two thumps up.
Dr. Bobis is an incredible physician. Many of the doctors I've seen, have been too busy talking at me to actually listen to my concerns . He was friendly, nonjudgmental, and extremely knowledgeable. Even though the wait was a little long, it was the amount of time I expected to wait in a NYC doctor's office. I highly recommend Dr. Bobis!
Super nice and super efficient! I was 30 minutes late and the last appointment and he still took me! Thorough and caring!!
The wait was absolutely atrocious. The appointment was scheduled for 4 and by 5 all the staff started leaving, but we were still waiting to be seen. Then the appointment itself was too thorough and took too long.
love this doctor, the wakt time was awful this time; over an hour :(. But he is such a great doctor, I am hoping my next visit doesnt have such a long wait. (My first visit only waited 10-15min)
Dr Bobbis was amazing!! He listened very well and understood my situation. I highly recomende Dr Fernando Bobbis.
Great doctor very thorough
He was fantastic! Very thorough. Would definitely recommend and will see again.
Dr. Bobis is a great doctor definitely recommend!
Dr. Bobis listened to all my concerns and was very helpful as well as his staff. I highly recommend him.
Excellent Doctor, even I had to wait so long, he is a very caring doctor, if it wasn't for the waiting time it would have been perfect.
Besides the hour wait it was a great experience. He asked a lot of questions listened intently and scheduled me immediately for follow up. Definitely Recommended
Doctor Fernando Bobis and those working in the office were all nice. I had to wait a while, but they kept me posted and seemed to be doing alll they could to move my appointment forward (they seemed very busy). The doctor patiently answered all my questions and was easy to talk to. I had to get my blood drawn and the person who did it was very gentle and nice. I also liked that they were cheaper and closer than another place that my husband and I considered going to. I would recommend them :)
Amazing doctor. He listens and is concerned not only about your physical heath, but also your and mental health
Dr. Bobis was kind and thorough. He was easy to talk to and very respectful. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Bobis is great. Knowledgeable, thorough and he makes you feel at ease.
Dr. Bobis and his team were fantastic and made every effort to get me in and out in a timely manner. Dr. Bobis is knowledgeable and personable. He's also clearly great with his staff which I appreciated.
I was a bit turned off by the office itself, which was just a unit of an apartment building and felt kinda gross. I had an 11:30am appointment and didn't get seen until around 12:45, which was also not ideal, but I've never had a faster wait time at any NYC Doctor's Office. I was a first time paitent at this office and with this doctor, and I LOVED Dr. Bobis. He was polite and friendly and knowledgable, and I felt very comfortable talking to him. I would certainly recommend him, and I will go back to this office knowing better what to expect. Also, the woman who took my blood did an excellent job, and I appreciated her!
Dr. Bobis was kind and professional. He listened closely as I explained all of my symptoms and gently asked questions along the way. He explained everything clearly with excellent bedside manner.
Dr. Bobis was great, this is the third time I've seen him, and the third time he's fixed me up! Couldn't recommend him more!!
Dr. Bobis is fantastic. The wait can be a little long depending on the day of the week because it's a small clinic but it's conveniently located for me -- less than a block off the 183 exit of the 181 A train -- and the staff and quality of care are worth it.
It was a very good visit, I was feeling very Ill and he addressed the problem the right way to help me fell better. Very good Doctor I like to go to him. Except for the waiting time and the way the secretaries handle things when your in the office and when you call the office with some questions and regards prescriptions etc. They can. Be rude and it since that communication between Them and the Doctor it's not well.
I wish the wait was shorter, but I loved the experience, worth it!
While the wait was a bit long, the care given to me was excellent. Dr Bobis and the rest of the medical staff was professional and knowledgeable. They took time to learn about me and my medical history. I could tell that there were patients that made appointments and patients that were walk-ins so I wasn't frustrated by the extended wait time. I think offering both ways to be seen is very important in the neighborhood this office services. I saw previous reviews commenting on long waits and brought with me some work to do. I went in for a new patient exam and zika virus test because my wife and I are considering to try for a second child and I recently travelled to Mexico for work. Dr. Bobis took this seriously and relayed information about my options in a very clear way.
Friendly staff. Dr. Bobis has great bedside manners and thorough.
i had an apt for 2:45pm i was seen close to 5pm the doctor was great- thorough, listened and had great bedside manner. he suggested i st bloodwork. i did. they said the results would be in in a week and they would call me. they did not. i have tried 5 times calling to get the results and i've been put on hold, passed over, and told the dr would call me as soon as his patient had left the office. it's a month later. i don't know if i have a deadly virus or not. terrible front desk staff and communication. taking the results if i ever get them and bringing them to another practice.
Great service and doctor. Highly recommended. Wait time is normal, I wouldn't rate good doctors on the wait. You want a doctor that takes its time and is thorough.
The doctor was good but the wait is horrible.
Great visit but I do not have enough time to follow up on results would love to get email with results
I found Dr. Bobbis on ZocDoc and needed a quick appointment to have something checked. The office environment is not fancy, it feels much like what it is: two converted apartments into a medical space. That said, everything was very clean, everyone was friendly, and Dr. Bobbis was knowledgeable and personable. Most of my doctors are through the Columbia Doctors system, but I could not get an appointment in a timely fashion. Dr. Bobbis's availability was very accommodating and allowed me to get some answers.
Dr. Bobis and the student nurse practitioners were thorough and have great bedside manner. Overall I felt listened too and that he had my best interests in mind. Dr. Bobis was also very accommodating with my schedule. The only not great thing is that the facilities need improvement (e.g. soap in the bathroom and some other stuff).
He was very professional and dedicate his time with his patiens.
is always great!
Dr. Bobis is a great combination of professional demeanor and warm heart!
I really liked Dr. Bobis. He was very thorough asked great questions, answered my questions and made me feel at ease.
Very helpful. Even though I had multiple things to discuss with him, he ensured that everything was taken care off in order to ensure I was 100% healthy and able to go back to work. I would really recommend this doctor to anyone in the city.
He was very nice. Attentive. Don't love that i Have to go back in person for blood work results - most doctors I have been to give results on a secure portal. Much easier. Especially considering I waited for over three hours during my appointment.
Very helpful and informative. I will definitely go back.
very informative , great doctor
The doctor was great. I went in for a checkup and we talked for a long time about my health history and goals. His staff was great and they are clearly embedded in our community. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Bobis listened to all my concerns and was very thorough in providing care. It was very refreshing to not feel rushed and to have a conversational appointment.
Dr Bobis was patient, understanding, and knowledgeable in a variety of areas. I did not feel rushed at all and it was definitely worth the wait time (which he initially apologized for)
He was discreet about embarrassing things. I thought he was professional and cordial and endeavored to diagnose me properly.
Dr. Bobis is very knowledgeable, friendly and a great listener.
Great!!! Well spoken, polite, attentive and intelligent
Dr. Bobis was great. He saw me promptly, address all my concerns, and helped me with my issues. I highly recommend him.
