There was a lot of tension in the air. Customers were unhappy. Receptionists were rushing people and had no time for questions. The nurses were friendlier but also having unprofessional conversations within earshot of patients. The doctorwas friendly when I saw him but gave me nearly no feedback. I went to an opthalmologist to learn about my eyes. I got 2 minutes before being left in a room for ten minutes, seeing him another 3 minutes, and then being carted away for more tests. When those were done I never saw him again. The glasses center were also having unprofessional conversations and gave minimal assistance. They told me 7 to 10 days. Nearly three weeks later I called them saying I never got contacted. The first receptionist on the phone again was terse and rushing. The second person on the phone sounded caught off guard and then said "come in twenty minutes." No explanation, no anything. Reading reviews on Zocdoc, I'm confused by some. I haven't had any interactions that felt like this place is professional. The equipment was great. But the interpersonal side was really underwhelming. I'm very disappointed.

Optical was not in network with my insurance but the doctor office was a lack of communication. I waited two hours for half of the process of getting my glasses . I had to be disappointed the wait was unnecessary. Ifyour looking to come to this office be very detailed with the front desk .They’re not structured correctly or consistent .The women are Not focused on costumer but their looks unfortunately they looked like they did not groomed properly or had too much makeup. You sit there and start to wonder what we’re they focused on. They had no socks on .The comfort level was 5 because the comfort of the seats but I froze and I felt the technician was focused on her fake eyelashes from falling off. I don’t appreciate that I left the office with just scripts for the glasses . Still waiting for my glasses a week later no answer from the optical . Thank you Doctor Gary Fishman for your service unfortunately I cannot say the same for the front desk or optical .

I got to the doctors office around 930 (appointment was at 945) and left around 11 o'clock. Expect a wait time, just saying. The office had a lot of patients, chairs might not be available for everyone. The front desk wasthe main issue with my visit. It needs immediate improvement. I had to check my own eligibility because they didn't WANT to call. Had I not called and checked for myself they would've turned me away. It was a 6 min phone call. They honestly looked annoyed that I called to make sure my insurance was accepted. Irene was not nice. Other than the horrible costumer service in the front desk, I got my answers. Hopefully when I return on Wednesday I'll be treated with a little more kindness.

If you read through these reviews, the large majority of past people complain about the staff at this facility. It is quite true. They are unprofessional, unorganized and value socializing more than doing their job. I came in for my 10:45amappointment on time and as i walk in to check in, i was met with a bunch of nonchalant, unconcerned receptionists that were just too busy to check me in, much less greet their patients. It was about 5 receptionists inside the little desk area. Yet none of them even deemed it necessary to say anything to me. Why do you need that many receptionists if none of them can do their jobs? I stood at the front desk for minutes, until I realized no one was willing to say anything so I had to proclaim I am a new patient and I have an appointment. Only one decided to stop her conversation to help me. As stated previously, I had a 10:45am appointment but wasn’t brought beyond the reception area until 11:30am. I was then taken to do some preliminary tests with a med assistant and she then led me to a SECOND waiting area with more people. I was finally brought into a room to be seen at 12:45pm. The doctor took 2 minutes to look in my eyes and that’s it. Literally awful service. Will probably never return to this practice again.

I was pleased with Dr. Fishman and his staff. His approach to patients is very calm and thorough. We were referred here by our medical doctor who spoke very highly of him. His staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and assistedme with my insurance issue. I had a complete exam under 2 hours which is much better than I have had in the past.

I would never ever see this doctor again. The doctor is ok. However, the people in this facility are very unprofessional, lack the discipline, and professionalism to work with people, and should consider working in a cubicle away from everyone. The receptionist treated me like trash, refused to help with, so I ended up paying out of packet to have my 8-year-old son seen, because he needed new glasses ASAP for school. However, I have private insurance, as a NYCDOE Teacher.

I waited for over an hour to be seen. I dont know if I caught them on a bad day but the office was overly packed and the waiting area is small. When I finally got called back and had towait another 30 minutes to be seen. My actual appt took all of 5 mins. He gave me a prescription and tips on what to do and that was it. So i waited for a 1 1/5 for a 5 min appt.

the office staff is not good with the billing. very they over charge you or over bill you so you are paying more out of pocket. Then you have to wait for your insurance to pay them before you get reimbursed what you over paid

You go through a few checks with other professionals before seeing Dr. Gary Fishman. All other them were really nice and helpful. Even though there is a lot of people the waiting time is not much, I felt it was reallyfast if you compare with the amount of people there. Dr. Fishman was very polite and answered my questions (I needed glasses ) and he gave me the prescription right away. He also gave me some drops for the dryness of my eyes. They have a store in there so if you want to get your glasses there you can get them. Also if you are gonna pay full price (no insurance needed) for your glasses you can get them right away and don't have to wait which is amazing. The only "bad thing" I see is that the office is really far but it was worth the commute ( I live in Brooklyn).

This office is SCAM!! It's a "vision center" so has both an eye doctors office and optical. I went to Dr. Fishman's office to get an eye exam and prescription for contact lenses. I was called to the back and saw3 Techs/Medical Assistants before seeing the doctor. They did what seemed to be usual eye exams as I've done these many times before at other facilities. I found it weird that not ONE person asked the reason for my visit (not even the doctor himself) but I assumed that this was because they saw the reason for my visit on ZocDoc. Once the doctor came in the room he took a look at my eyes and told me to go to the optical in the office and come back in six months. At this point I was confused because he didn't mention anything about my contact prescription and since he didn't bother asking the reason why I was there, I decided to volunteer the information and tell him that I'm there for contact lenses. He told me "they'll take care of that at the optical." When I walked over to the optical the young lady told me the price of purchasing contact lenses if I purchase them there and that if I wanted a prescription to get my lenses outside of the office, the prescription would cost me also. I have worked in healthcare for almost 12 years and currently manage a very successful medical practice and have never heard of a doctor charging to write a prescription. I had already paid my copay and my insurance covered the office visit, so I didn't understand why I had to pay extra for a prescription??! It was just absurd. Seems like a huge scam to me and like they are double billing patients. They're basically charging patients for 2 visits on the same day. If that was the case, patients should be told this UP FRONT so that they can make an informed decision prior to getting an eye exam because I have no idea what the doctor and his techs even tested me for. I could've just gone to lens crafters for all of this. They should direct patients to the optical if there are two separate charges. My visit to this office was pointless. I will investigate further and file a complaint against them. What they are doing is not right!
