Dr. Gershon Ney is a board certified neurologist with 25 years of clinical experience in a wide range of clinical settings. He is fellowshipped trained and has an extensive foundation in the treatment of epilepsy. Epileptology has seen prolific developments in the last two decades. Epilepsy surgery is an established treatment for drug resistant epilepsy, many new medications are available, novel medical technology like vagal nerve stimulation is an important therapeutic option. Dr. Ney witnessed these dramatic changes in epilepsy treatment play out over his career and has integrated these innovations into his practice. He served as acting director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Associate Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at New York Hospital Queens. There is extensive overlap between epilepsy, developmental disabilities and autism. As such Dr. Ney has deep interest and extensive experience in treating challenging patients with epilepsy and these comorbidities. Sleep disorders is another clinical interest and the doctor is board certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Ney addresses acute neurological emergencies and using the newest interventions for acute stroke.
