Dr. Simor has a vast array of clinical interests; however, her specializations are adult psychiatry, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, bipolar disorders, ADHD and Substance Use Disorders/Addictions. Dr. Simor’s philosophy of care generally centers on a multi-disciplinary approach, utilizing psychopharmacology in combination with psychotherapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy and mindfulness. She believes in treating people with a personalized approach tailored to the individual’s unique situation and to help the individual achieve a greater sense of well-being. Dr. Simor achieved her BA in Psychology at the University of Albany, NY and went on to earn her medical degree abroad at Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary, before returning to Albany Medical Center to complete her residency in Psychiatry. Dr. Simor enjoys learning about different cultural backgrounds in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the individual. Aside from her career, Dr. Simor enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dogs; traveling, cooking, exercising and being creative with decor when she personalizes her spaces.
