Good visit. Nice facility.
The visit took about a half hour in total, which was great with my busy schedule. Dr. Koster came in for a quick review of both eyes and then let the optometrist on staff review my glasses and prescriptions. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. WIll be returning here for all my vision needs.
this way to make an appt is terrible, it would be much easier if during office hours they would just answer their phone. must also comment on young girls in office were a delight.
I’ve been seeing Dr Koster and associates (usually Dr Au Coin) since 1998. Always professional, always a terrific experience. I highly recommend.
Very nice, and all the staff was nice and profesional, made me feel welcome.
Dr. Koster explained my exam and findings to me in an easy to understand terms, which I absolutely appreciate..
The office was efficient and professional. They got me In Right away and I was a last minute appointment. I was a new patient , but was treated like I had been there for years. Dr K was awesome! Professional ! Would go back in a heartbeat
The doctor was sarcastic and made fun of me explaining the pain in my eyes. He was rude and obnoxious. Not professional. Nasty behavior for a doctor.
Awesome atmosphere. Great doctors. Professional staff.
I HAVE KNOWN DR. KOSTER SINCE LEFFERTS BLVD. HE NOW HAS SOME OPERATION THAT RUNS QUITE EFFICIENTLY.
If you have any problems with your vision see Dr. Koster.. He will handle it as well as it can be.
The staff is always very professional and friendly. Dr. Koster is awesome!
The staff was very professional and had an fast process to get all screenings before seeing the doctor. Great experience. Highly recommend.
Dr. Koster is highly professional, knowledgeable and caring. I strongly recommend him.
My visit was good this time I made the app for early in the morning
Quick and painless. Awesome experience
I AM VERY SATISFY THAT EVERYONE TAKE CARE US VERY FRIENDLY AND BOTH DOCTORS WAS AWESOME. REALLY THEY ARE VERY VERY NICE, THEY TREAT US LIKE FRIEND. I WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE.
Confirm with them the payment and treatment details before visiting the office. They say something else on the phone and charge you anyways when at the office. Got a general eye exam which was free per 12months in my insurance and still was charged copay because they are something extra special. Anyways never going back.
I am very upset that this Doctor was "in-network" for my health insurance plan but the optometrist, who was responsible for administering a new contact prescription (THE ENTIRE REASON FOR MY VISIT), was out of network. This entirely makes no sense, and I feel deceived to have been lured in to a general eye consultation with an in-network doctor only to find out after the appointment that the "contact fitting" was out of network. Now I have to go to a different doctor who hopefully has a corresponding in-network optometrist. VERY FRUSTRATING. This review is not so much against Dr. Koster but instead against his entire practice and it blatantly misleads its potential patients.
Wonderful Environment. Friendly Staff. Very Well Organized.
Deceptive Billing – Go to this doctor at your own peril! This is to warn prospective visitor’s of Doctor Harry Koster's office about deceptive billing practices whereby the office conducts unasked for checks and then bills for those checks. I went to the doctor’s office and asked them to do a routine eye exam that would be 100% covered by my insurance policy. After doing the preliminary check, they asked me to come back another day for the final part of the exam for which they would need to dilate my eyes. I later received a bill from the Doctor’s office claiming i had complained of a dry eye and asked for a check up! A total lie! I did not ask them to do any further tests than were covered. The billing department is very rude and intimidating – ‘You have to pay, you asked for the tests’ is all they will say. NOTE - the doctor herself was not bad, but the billing dept killed my experienced.
He is very nice and considerate. The whole trip is about two hours. They have a TV in the waiting area.
Dr. Koster took the time to really talk to me and explain what was going on. He was friendly and had a good sense of humor. Everyone in the office was welcoming and efficient.
My vision is something very important to me and what I like about this practice is that I actually saw a highly trained and qualified doctor even though I have Medicaid ( student life) . I got to see an MD and an optometrist ! The greeting staff and tech staff are ok but the doctors are the best. A lot of tests are done that are not otherwise done at an optical. Office is very clean and all clean new equipment Highly recommended especially for annual exam check ups.
This is a LASIK factory. You're just another zombie going through the eye surgery conveyor belt. No explanation of the procedure (pre-, intra-, post-), insufficient information given when I asked for a comparison between PRK and LASIK given my particular circumstances / concerns, nor a reasonable discussion of risks. Total time with doctor was about 180 seconds. I was then pushed to the finance lady which knew nothing and could not answer my detailed questions about the type of laser used, measurement system employed, etc. Pro: was the cheapest out of my 5 consultations (actually a CON) Con: they use an outdated laser & measurement system. Do your research on the best laser (VISX STAR S4) & latest measurement technology (iDesign). Very few surgeons in NYC offer this pairing. Overall: Got my eye surgery done elsewhere and was extremely satisfied.
Attended in a timely fashion and was helped by friendly staff. Recommend this place.
The doctor was friendly, very professional and the whole visit was very positive . Extremely well equipped and pleasant office. Would highly recommend.
Very professional and thorough examination and explanation of my condition. Would highly recommend Dr. Koster.
It was great visit great service and fast amazing staff will definitely recommend it and I will definitely be going back
Professional and courteous at every step from greeting to tests, exams and consultative discussion.
Really pleasant and helpful team. Clean and comfortable offices. Attended to straight away. Excellent results.
Everyone was really helpful and very clean and very professional
professional, courteous, knowledgeable and kind. Dr. Koster is a great diagnostician and answers all questions and puts you at ease. I highly recommend him and his great office staff.
I've been a patient for 18 years now. I've only had positive experiences with the dr and his staff.
Dr. Kostner and his staff are all wonderful.
Good doctors but wait much too long OVER 2 HOURS ! Also I felt rushed , so not worthy all that , I might look other places
Everyone in the office -- everyone -- was professional, courteous, informative, and friendly. What a great team.
My visit was great! Dr. Koster is professional, knowledgeable and very nice. I definitely feel more comfortable with going through the surgery. The staff was courteous and professional. Would definitely recommend them.
It was careful, thorough, professional and caring.
Dr. Koster is excellent. He has a soothing bedside manner, is extremely knowledgeable and caring. I recommend him very highly.
Doctor didn't see me for almost 2 hours.
The staff is excellent and I love Dr. Koster, but the wait is too long.
This was my first visit and the staff was very professional, took time to evaluate, and I was very satisfied with the visit, and the doctor.
I was seeing by another doctor right before Dr. Koster and they were both great. I did lasik 10 years ago so I was looking for a general check up rather then having an actual issue with my eyes. Although I needed to go back to wear glasses, they did not put push me to do lasik again without need like some other doctors would do. The office staff was very professional as well and really kind to my toddler, who I had to take along with me.
He was very professional and accurate with his diagnosis.
I was treated by a doctor intern and another doctor and they both had a very nice bedside manner. They listened to all my symptoms, throughly explained how they were going to do the eye exam and then gave me a full explanation of the treatment and follow up. All the staff were friendly and the overall visit moved quickly. The office waiting room was pretty crowded but there was room for everyone to sit.
Dr Kosner was very professional as we're all of his staff. I was very pleased with my appointment and the speed of it all
After testing my eyes to see if they were eligible for laser eye treatment, I was just told that I was eligible. I wasn't told which process I qualified for, and I wasn't explained the process of the surgery. I don't feel as if I was given a far chance for questions, and immediately after I was put into a room to discuss financials and how soon I could schedule a day for surgery.
Long time patient, very satisfied
Actual doctor's visit was short and to the point but there's a long wait no matter the day you come in
they should include a note that there is a special monetary, not covered by insurance, for a contact lense exam
From the beginning until I left the whole office team where very professional and kind. Everybody was nice and I was there only about an hour and a half. Other places in the past I have been too took much longer. I would highly recommend the NY Vision Center.
Dr. Koster is always very professional and a pleasure to meet with. The wait time was almost 3 hours before seeing a doctor. This was a real inconvenience and no one could tell you how much longer the wait was. If I knew the wait was 3 hours I would have rescheduled. The staff needs to be more transparent with patients about wait time in order for the patients to plan their wait.
The procedures with checking my eyes before seeing the doctor took a while, but wasn't that long. Everyone seemed pretty nice. Would really recommend this place. The doctor I had was super cute as well ????.
Had a 3:30pm appointment and completed my paperwork before in order to expedite the check in process. I did not see Dr. Koster until 5:30pm and only spent a few minutes being examined by him. He is very nice and his staff members are pleasant, but I was aggravated that from start to finish the whole process was close to three hours. While I understand an emergency, it is unfair to have a simple exam take so long.
dr was very nice but recepinst was very rude i think they are racesist dont like indians
Never again 3 and half hour wait time
Waited for one hour and then it took another hour to complete multiple tests so I was there for over 2 hours for a routine battery of tests. The testing was very comprehensive but just took too long.
Dr. Was informative and pleasant. Highly recommend this doctor.
Long wait but worth it.
A pleasurable experience; exceptionally professional and knowledgeable.
They have a very smooth flow of service including all type of check up /eye exams. I appreciate their expediency and patience. I got clear instruction on everthing and they explains all the procedures to me. Doctor Koster and Doctor Sherri , &another eye exam doctor I forgot to ask for name(my apology here) did very nice job and I'm glod to talk to them. Everything is in control and all staff are very reasonable. truly appreciate all their effort and help from my heart, and I definitely will inform my friends who ever need eye correction .
I gave the wait time 3 stars because I was seen right away for my first bit of tests but then waited quite a while (over 2 hours) to have all of the other tests done. I would be tested, then sit in the waiting room, then take another test, then wait, then see the doctor, then wait. I got to my 2:45 appointment early at around 2:20 and didn't leave the office until after 5:00. This was not a surprise to me as I've been to this office many times before, so I was prepared for the wait. There's free wifi, coffee and a tv, so I was able to entertain myself. If you're a very impatient person, this may be a problem for you. If you've got time to chill, I highly recommend this doctor. I will keep going back because I like the people. They're all friendly and professional, listen to concerns and answer questions....and you never feel rushed ;-)
It went well.
Medical treatment satisfactory Wait time ridiculously long.
Despite the long wait, I thought that everyone I dealt with was quite friendly and professional. However, when I discovered that an error was made with the reading magnification on my new bifocal prescription (which had not yet been filled), I had to make an additional appointment to come in a week later and (hopefully) have it corrected.
Excellent continuity of care.
Went as usual, but I believe I was seen by Dr. Koster himself. I don't really know because he never introduced himself. The other doctors I usually see are friendly with an introduction. He is knowledgeable and that's what is most important. The office is always busy but the wait was unexpectedly shorter. Stacia the Clinical Manager is great as she was teaching new technicians and really knows her craft. All in all Harry Koster's office is much needed in this area and much appreciated.
The staff is quite friendly and professional in the treatment of patients. It's very much appreciated that any questions or concerns are addressed in a respectable amount of time.
I was going to write even if you hadn't asked for a follow-up. The doctors and office are great, despite long wait times, but what bothered me was the unannounced change in the appointment. I set it with ZocDoc for 3 PM. When they called this morning with an (unwanted) reminder, I said right off I'd be there at three, but they pointed out the time was to be 2:45. It's not that big a deal, and anyway, I got there at 2:35, but I asked the receptionist to talk to her office manager about how this type of change is made without telling--or asking--the patient in advance.
To be honest, I did not see Dr. Koster. I saw Dr. Nicole Aucoin. She was very nice and calm. I had a thorough eye exam and enjoyed my visit very much. The entire process took about 2 hours overall.
Wonderful doctor and checked my eyes thoroughly. Unfortunately it was a very long wait.
As always, my visit was handled politely and efficiently. The folks in the office made sure that I knew what was being done and why, and answered the questions that I had. Despite having a lot of patients in the office, they stayed on top of what was going on.
I don't mind waiting a few minutes, or on the rare occasion, a bit longer, I trust Dr. Koster. I have history with him, however, I would certainly also recommend all of the Doctors that Dr. Koster hires for his practice and his whole team in general, it is top rate.
The tech appeared to be new and she took too long to do the tests one of the test could not be done because the computer first didnt work and then neither of the two techs couldfigure it out yet they blamed my mother for not opening her eyes or placing her chin correctly. They need training in working with the elderly.
Harry is great and the care is excellent. The office is almost excellent, but I was disappointed that they failed to provide me a copy of my medical records after I filled out the request form *and* paid the fee.
The visit went very smoothly and the provider's care was fantastic. Dr. Cotler and Dr. Koster were both very thorough and went beyond their scope to ensure my needs were met. The receptionist (ginger-blonde hair) was rude towards the end of my visit - she became frustrated when I was confused about my prescription and was not very friendly. I would definitely recommend these providers who
I hardly waited at all after I arrived and filled out paperwork. The staff was polite and friendly. Within 20 minutes, they had done all of the tests I needed in order to have a Lasik consult with Dr. Koster. Dr. Koster was very thorough and patient with my questions, and the office manager was equally as accommodating with information. Looking forward to the procedure in a week.
Nice guy. Not at all full of himself. Introduced himself as "Harry," not "Dr. Koster."
Too slow service! I had to wait long time !!
I arrived early to fill out any paperwork since it was my first visit. The staff was professional and courteous but after all the paperwork and basic tests were done I waited and waited and eventually left, never seeing the doctor. No one should wait over an hour if they are scheduled to be there at a specific time.
in all good conscience I cannot recommend this office for your regular vision check up the check up is very quick they do not do a complete examination you have to fight with the front desk about insurance and and they try to charge you more than your co-pay. Their VisionWare department will refuse to even show you any frames until after they have faxed qualifications from your insurance company. My appointment time was 12:15 PM I was seen after 4 PM. Did not get out of the VisionWare department until after 6 PM
I had a 4.15 pm appointment during a holiday week. I waited 35 minutes to see the doctor. Not too bad. Overall had a positive experience w a quality medical care provider.
Thorough, caring..... I've been with Dr. Koster since 1998 for a reason!
everything was topnotch!!
After I saw the doctor I gave document from doctor to one of the clerks at the the front desk she took it told me to have a seat. After she tended few patients she left apparently for lunch. I had to go to one of the clerks and asked to to process my case as i had to get a prescription.
The whole staff was very friendly and courteous. Dr. Koster was very down to earth and we spent time talking about life, sports, and aspects/concerns I had about LASIK. The whole process was informal and stress-free!
I initially started working with Dr. Koster's office when I was seeking vision correction surgery. They advised me well for that, and I'm very happy with the results. I went back for unrelated ophthalmic issues, and continue to be very pleased. The office runs quickly, efficiently, and politely. Most important to me, though: there is great attention to detail and clear explanations of what is being done and why. As icing on the cake, the people that I've spoken with there have also been quite personable and friendly, I recommend Dr. Koster and his associates highly.
Quick, his staff was nice and thorough.
Very personable, upfront doctor.
Excellent physician. Really listens to his patients.
Loved the dr. 'S bedside manner and thoroughness hated the wait . The receptionist was not very pleasant and my billing was not managed how I requested which was to make all payments in office, instead I received a bill via mail a couple weeks later
I saw Dr. Koster and Dr. Ferri. I was very happy with the service. They are both excellent physicians.
Dr. Koster's staff were efficient at getting me through the paperwork and examinations preceding my consultation with the doctor. Dr. Koster himself was personable, clear, and responsive to my concerns.
Harry is a no nonsense intelligent doctor. The wait time in his office is an issue that he needs to address. I was there at 3:50 for a 4 pm appointment I left the office at 6pm. Total time with doctors and nurses was 20-25 minutes.
He is busy, so there is sometimes a bit of wait. He is worth the wait. I highly recommend Dr. Koster.
The wait was horrible. I was there for over 2 hours. Nice doctor but they need to book less appointments.
Dr Koster was very thorough in his examination. He explained his findings and recommendation . The office was very busy but seemed to be very efficiently run. The staff was courteous and professional.
Dr. Koster is a truly wonderful Doctor, but, sometimes more importantly, he is also a kind, interested and companionate man. I would highly recommend him to anyone. His office can get a bit busy, but trust me, there is a well deserved reason he is so popular.
very nice and the staff was very nice
The entrance was not on Downing St but on 6th Av. Nobody had informed me of this. Nobody was answering the phone from 7:45 AM to 8:00 AM.
My visit with Dr. Koster was great. He and his staff were friendly and the service was prompt. There was little wait time before I was seen.
professional - gregarious
Great service,clean, friendly staff
Great doc and very friendly staff, but overbooked so wait times are killer.
It was a very informative session, that inform me of a serious health matter that I wasn't aware of. Thank you because matters could have been so much worst, if left untreated.
They overcharged me for a follow up they requested, even though they promised on first visit there would be no additional charge. Watch out, and make sure you get their word in writing.
I told 3 people my medical history after already filling it out, which was redundant. I thought Dr Koster was pleasant and smart, but he dismissed my symptoms, like he didn't believe me. I really liked him, but I didn't like that part.
Was awesome. staff was kind and helpful.
This was my first visit and I felt that Dr. Koster was warm, clear about what was needed, and provided enough information to ensure my comfort with his ability to treat my condition.
Dr Harry is the best!!
This office was horrible. I met this doctor one time and was taken care of by his Optomatrist. I was sent multiple bills even though he claimed to take my insurance. Do not go to this doctor
Excellent Doctor, very carring & professional
I received Lasik from Dr. Koster in December and 8 months I am very happy I did it. 20/20 vision. No complications. Extensive follow-up.
me and my family was treated with dignety and respect
Thorough examination and tests by friendly staff. Issues were rightfully identified by Harry. Highly recommended by a friend and now it is my turn to recommend this team warmly.
At the time of my visit it seemed that he was overbooked. There was a significant wait between the various tests. Also, many of the documents that needed to be filled out seemed redundant. A lot of the information was taken by the nurse via the computer. It would be great if the documents could be available electronically to patients prior to the visit so that they could be filled out beforehand.
I would use him regularly if I lived closer to his office
Very professional and knowledgeable
Nice, friendly office staff. All my questions were answered.
Very non-alarmist but conscientious doctor especially when presented with a somewhat out of the ordinary condition.
Staff was very helpful and it was over all a pleasant visit
I was seen by another doctor at the practice though the doctor was there that day. Very nice office, very nice staff, very efficient all around I felt it was a professional environment I was in and out in no time with prescription, fully evaluated not just for my issue but with a reading and eye exam and an appointment set up for follow up.
Very professional and reassuring
Great staff, great service, not a long wait.
very, very professional & a bunch of really nice people
I feel he is very realistic, intuitive, and reads people very well. He seems to be a very good Doctor..
Though I sat in an examination chair, Dr. Koster displayed a bedside manner that was among the most sincere, concerned and helpful I've experienced. His soothing style was balanced by the thoroughness of both his examination and his explanation of the diagnosis and the treatment. An excellent physician and, just as important, a caring person.
