Unprofessional staff a d rude
He was very compassionate and thorough with making sure that all of my concerns were addressed... i will keep him as my doctor for good... abd the staff were so friendly and attentive
This was my first time and the experience was really good.
Dr SHAPIRO was extremely helpful & knowledgeable. He answered all my questions & I never felt rushed, which is unusual in medicine these days. He treated me respectfully , and said all my questions were meaningful! Dr. SHAPIRO was thorough, and I left with a diagnosis & was hopeful!
Very professional ! Staff memebers were amazing and were very helpful ! So happy I? found this place!
Dr. Schapiro is an awesome gentleman I wish I Should’ve had met him 10 years ago.
I am not one to write reviews but this is by far the worst doctor I have ever visited. He does not care about his patients. He pretty much kicked me out of the office and did not want to answer my questions. Prescribed a hormone drug without providing any side effects or explanation of use. I also asked him to test for something specific in my blood test and he said sure no problem. When I went to the front desk they told me the doctor never approved or even mentioned to test for this. All of the terrible reviews on here about him are absolutely true. He is just an awful physician. The wait time was also absurd. I strongly do not recommend going to him. Find someone else even if you have to wait weeks to schedule an appointment with another doctor. What a waste of time.
Doctor was very helpful . Answered questions and is very concern about his patients . Staff was very professional and efficient.
GREAT doctor! Very nice. Allowed me to feel as if I wasn’t alone, and told me I can contact him at any time.
‘Dr. ‘ Shapiro acted like a robot with a wrinkled lab coat who was simply unable to respond to the tearful human being sitting in front of him. I questioned WHY my thyroid was malfunctioning before starting a serious hormone medication which he prescribed immediately before even having a scan or my T3 results; his verbal response ‘it doesn’t matter why, it’s just not working’. As a registered nurse with Crohn’s disease, the etiology of my new thyroid disease DOES matter. However I quickly learned if you have any previous knowledge about this disease or questions about the process, Dr. Shapiro will cut you off, lecture you about why you came to him, mumble into his dictaphone, and then run away while he directs you to the red arrows out the door. He is a coward who has no interest in a holistic approach and getting to know his patients on a human level. The staff, however, seemed lovely and truly embarrassed by his behavior.
They are nice, good and accomodating. The Doctor explains everything and the staff at the check out are nice too
He was great, and I received a great check up. Very nice staff.
Very thorough! Hypochondriac's fantasy - I was tested for everything with basic results right away. I loved this office!
Great Doctor! Thank you very much!
Dr. Shapiro is a very good doctor. I felt at ease the entire visit. The other specialists in the office are very thorough, down to earth and nice. I feel confident that Dr. Shapiro will help me get better and improve my condition.... thank you
Dr was rude didn't like how he brush me off needed to ask questions was unable to answer also very sarcastic
I love the doctor but the scheduling was not good today I had to reschedule because I was asked to come earlier than my appointment and I did. Then I was still waiting too long, finally I agreed to reschedule next week. But I felt pressured because my results are abnormal and I had to come next week or the doctor will be on vaction starting July 10th
Rebecca at the front desk was really kind and professional; they are lucky to have her on their team. The doctor gave me hope we would find out what is the cause of my current problem and I look forward to my next visit.
he a great doctor it was quick ...as soon i walked in i was seen they ran all the test staff was awesome and friendly he told me he was going to help me and get me on the right track he cared... he wasnt only worried about my thyroid he was worried bout my whole health he was great highly recommend
Like that He take time to listen
He and his staff were very sweet, & very thorough. Signed in as a new patient, had blood drawn, ekg, x rays, thyroid sonogram, and a breathing test all in the matter of an hour and a half. He's not exactly the best listener, but he's very knowledgeable .
The staff is super friendly, I was seen in about 10-15 minutes. They ran about 4 dif tests and I was still in an out within an hour and a half. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone in need of an endocrinologist.
I would have been very helpful if Dr. Shapiro could dedicate at lest 1 minute (literally) on an uninterrupted, undistracted active listening to his patient over the course of the visit with him.
everyone in the office was kind and professional. they are all willing to work with you and are realistic with expectations
I needed a quick appointment with an endocrinologist as my previous doctor had moved and left no forwarding address. I filled out all of the required documents and put my insurance information into Zocdoc prior to my appointment. When I got into the office it was around 2:05PM and my appt was at 2:30PM. I signed all of the forms that I previously filled out, gave them my insurance again so they could make another copy, and paid a copay. Within 10 minutes of arriving I was already in a room getting my bloodwork, EKG, urinalysis, and electrical nerve impulses test done. Dr Shapiro came in to see me twice, once before the tests and once after, and gave me a course of action to keep my Type I Diabetes in check. There was never a long 2-3hr wait like with my previous doctor, and throughout the experience I felt like I was with a doctor who knew what he was doing and had a script set up for my visit. I have a follow up appt next week, but on the basis of this initial visit, I know Dr Shapiro is light years ahead of my previous specialist.
I felt very comfortable from the moment I walked into the office everyone was so professionally and attentive Dr. Shapiro was very attentive and reassuring i would definitely recommend this office.
Very good awesome doctor
This place has everything on premisses whuch makes it easier and much faster to do all the tests and get immediate results! They have own lab, sonograthy, XR-ay room, and nany doctors of different specialties. Its like a mini hospital! Dr. Shapiro is very knowledgeable and cert attentive. The front desk stuff is very pleasant . Everybody wirk there very gard, including Doctors! I liked this place very much and will be going there again in a near future.
Thorough, he takes his time to understand your problems, he puts care first in a way I haven't had. I am very happy with him.
The doctor asked all the right questions and was very reassuring and professional. Great experience and very friendly staff!
Honestly fantastic. I've never had such a comprehensive exam so swiftly. I'm actually excited to see dr Shapiro again, he's AMAZING!
Very poor . Assistant don't even wear a gloves when he take a blood from your vein . So im not recommending this service to you guys . Just my opinion
The visit was very good, Dr. Shapiro was very knowledgable I felt comfortable and trust him with my health. Actually recommended a friend who needed the same service.
Dr. Shapiro is extremely thorough in his examination and provides very detailed in providing patient education.
He has a great personality and seems genuinely concerned and thorough about my care treatment and well being
For my first time selecting a Dr in the blind "online" with out recommendation, and receive the personal attention and professionalism was fantastic. I was truly impressed. Am happy with my choice.
This man is not normal. I am so serious.
This man is not right in the head. Believe the negative reviews. You are rushed or the door. He yells if you ask questions. He tells you "all questions at the end". Then when he's done mumbling he leads you to the exit without answering any questions. This happened 2ce. I got my test results which is what I needed for my upcoming surgery but will NEVER go back to Harry Shapiro. There really is something wrong with him. Also. . While examining me he asked me to breathe deeply and the stethoscope never even touched me. His response"sounds great" He will tell the same thing to every patient. "GOOD NEWS" Meanwhile he didn't even read my test results until that visit. . And he left out two of them..I had to remind him that on my first visit he took unwarranted xrays. . Can I at least get the results? ??? If I were my old self I would have told him off. I am grown now. I just left. Don't go to him. P.S. I will say that the technicians in the back are fantastic! !!
No wait time, thorough examination. Highly rrecommend this doctor.
Highly recommend, very thorough and patient. Very good experience. Recommend taking early appointment to avoid wait
Great doctor... Very thorough and precise. Spends the time to actually listen to you and get to know you. I wish I had found him years ago! His office staff is superb, friendly and professional. ..once I checked in, I knew I was in good hands!
What a wonderful experience in this office. The staff was so pleasant and welcoming and the doctor was very thorough and really made me feel like he cared. I will continue to see Dr Shapiro for many years to come.
He was very rude and made me feel like I was wasting his time. Don't go to him
Loved that all tests, X-rays, sonograms were done on the premises! Staff at the desk and pre-exam were very friendly and courteous. Dr was thorough and made me feel at ease and comfortable. My only slight (very slight) negative comment would be that he was very quick and fast. Felt a little rushed. But that was very small issue because we did cover a lot. . Was very pleased with the whole appointment.
Being this was my first visit to dr Shapiro , it was very pleasant . And he took the time to explain what my issues were. He has a good personality. I go back in 2 weeks
I was quite upset with the visit. Although it started out well, the Dr. mumbled into his tape recorder the entire time. He did not speak directly to me except to assure me he was the doctor. He took me off a medication and got upset when I was surprised. Then he mumbled into his recorder to double the same medication he took me off. I was not able to ask any questions and the woman ordering medication had to ask him three different times about dosages etc. as he had not given me any written instructions nor did he discuss anything directly with me. I had to guess based on his mumbles into his tape recorder. I am looking for another doctor. He may know his medicine but I need to be informed also.
Very comprehensive exam by MD and health professionals; very courteous staff. I highly recommend.
Doctor was excellent, speed at which I got through the battery of tests for new patients was excellent. I'm going back next week for results. Most of the staff were amazing. Two things though that really stood out as bad parts though: I overheard someone berating a worker for being on her phone. It's one thing to ask someone to adhere to a policy, and I get it, she was breaking the policy. However the way in which is was done was the most condescending, disgusting way I could ever imagine. This woman was screamed at, talked down to, insulted.. I hope the woman who did that reads this review. If you're her co-worker, show it to her: nobody in the entire world deserves to be spoken to that way, no matter what they've done. You are a very small human and I hope that you go to sleep miserable at night. The nurses who came in my room after were talking about how demeaning it was and I agreed... and then they said there was nothing they could do because they feared losing their jobs. :( The woman who booked my next appointment when I was leaving (last two people at the desk before you exit) was very rude. When she asked out loud "and who is this..?" I thought she was talking to me and so I gave her my last name. She snapped "I know that" back at me, which was really inappropriate - I think maybe she didn't realize she had said this out loud! Still, really not a good look.
the staff is very focused on making a team effort. everyone is really nice and I appreciate how the doctors office has very current technology.
Great office with a great doctor, highly recommended!
It is only one way have to be for working people. Excellent job of all the staff. Dr. Shapiro thank you very much. Fast and straight to the problem.
Very happy about my visit..he is very calm easy to understand and assured me he wud get to the roo of my problem(insomnia and constant fatigue)and wont stop till i get better.he is also extremely confident in his profession wud definitly recommend
It went well I recommend him to anyone!
I must say I have NEVER had such a short wait time at a doctor's office in my life. The staff is friendly and professional. Dr. Shapiro was thorough and informative. All testing done right in the office with immediate results. That's what I call efficient! Very satisfied with the services I received!
Writing on behalf of my husband who just came from the office. He said he has never had a more positive experience in a doc office ever - seen instantly at appointment time , amazing staff , wonderful and insightful doctor and sooo sooo thorough. Highly recommend ! So glad he found this office. Thanks Zoc Doc
I love this doctor and everyone who works in the office. I come in about every two months and have never had a bad experience.
He clearly is a doctor with a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience. Dr. Shapiro answered all my questions, and took his time, demonstrating empathy and support. He made me extremely comfortable, and I was confident, I found the right doctor!!!
The doctor took the time to explain lab results and to discuss actions to improve my health. The office staff was very pleasant and attentive. The wait to see the doctor probably was longer than it should've been because of a delay contacting my insurance carrier on the West Coast.
He is an amazing doctor, who really knows his stuff.
I wish I could say I had a good experience. He saw me for less than 5 minutes ask me a few questions and was not interested in much of what I had to say. Right away without even reviewing my file referred me for biopsy and wAlked out of the room and asked me to follow him. Apparently my appt was over since my file was already at front desk.
All tests done on premises some results are instant and the doctor is very kind. I was sincerely pleased with my experience here with him and his staff. I will be back for more !
I have to commend not just the doctor but the entire staff at this office. Everyone is so cheerful, nice, and genuinely helpful. I was actually taken in 20 minute early (!) for a very thorough exam with the doctor, who answered all of my questions elaborately. Can't recommend this office/doctor enough!
Dr Shapiro is a very interesting person. He's very old fashioned and my belief is that this method hasn't failed us till now. He has a strong personality and he's very serious about his work. His staff is so friendly it makes you want to work there yourself. The bottom line is he got to the bottom line and gave me a bottom line on how to better my health. And i trust him. I'll be back in two weeks to discuss my progress with him and I will then write another review because like he said to me, "I HAVE GOOD 'NEWS"
The staff here is incredible. They do everything in their power to get you in and out of this office as fast and painlessly as possible. Dr. Shapiro is an excellent Doctor Who leaves no time to play games with your health he makes you his priority and follows up really well with you. I'm so happy I finally found a doctor like him and an office like this
Dr. Shapiro is a fantastic doctor. He's very patient and explains everything. I haven't felt this comfortable with Dr. In a very long time. Thank you GOD
Doctor Shapiro was very effective. Very informative, and understanding of my concerns. I walked out with a smile on my face knowing that I'm in good hands.
I am an MD and folks please go somewhere else.
This was my first visit , the staff was wonderful , and I felt very comfortable with Dr. Shapiro I would Definitely Recommend this Doctor. Lisa G.
He is very professional, intelligent and kind. He could listen and willing to help. I am very happy that I find this doctor and I absolutely recommend him to everyone.
He made me feel reassured that everything was going to be okay and that we are a team together.
Very thorough and said it will be a partnership between us until he gets to the bottom of what ails me.
I had visited Dr. Shapiro's office three times for hyperthyroidism. My first visit appeared positive, but odd at the same time. I had to go through an EKG, a sonogram, an x-ray, and blood test during my first visit. Through the entire process, no one informed me of what was happening -- I was just directed to move from room to room. At the end of all the testing I was brought back to the original examination room and waited for Dr. Shapiro. He recited his scripted lines first before discussing my test results "We are a team. We will make you feel better. You need to exercise." He informed me my sugar levels were slightly high and I needed to monitor what I eat and he would like to see me in 2 weeks to see if there was any change. During my 2nd visit, he was an hour late to the office. The staff had me sit in the examination room for the entire hour and never informed me he was not physically in the office. When Dr. Shapiro finally arrived he blamed his staff for booking my appointment during hours he was not working. His hours have since changed three times! And the hours do not accommodate people who work. Not only is this a huge problem, they do not do prescription refills over the phone. I was given a prescription for only 30 days, but my next doctor visit was 2 months away. When I contacted the office to request a refill they informed me that I had to make an appointment, so I had to make another appointment just to receive a refill. Because of this my thyroid levels became overactive, the office mailed me a letter to tell me that my thyroid was overactive instead of calling me to inform me of my test results. The doctor is not concerned about my health -- they didn't seem to have a problem contacting me to leave a review on ZocDoc. The last issue I have with Dr. Shapiro is the fact that he pulls out a small recorder and records the result of my visit. It sounds normal at first when he speaks into his recording device, however as he continues to record he actually says "blah blah blah" and is incoherent at different points of his recording. That to me is disturbing. I have been continuing to visit Dr. Shapiro's office to get my prescription, but I am in the process of finding a GOOD endocrinologist. They seem to be very hard to find.
He did not meet my most modest expectations. He did not want to hear anything from me. He has his routine and he applies it to every patient. He only wants to hear yes or no.
It was exceptional !! Excellent staff and doctor Harry Shapiro is wonderful. I absolutely recommend this doctor.
Dr. Shapiro Truly cares about his patients. I really feel that I'm in extremely capable hands!
The medical staff (nurses, assistant, PA) are all very nice and professional. I love the fact that they have a lab on site, and you get results immediately. I didn't like the fact that everyone presumed it was ok to call me by my first name, while I heard them refer to other patients as Mr. and Miss. Granted, many were elderly, but at 57, I'm no spring chicken. I actually like informality, but there should be a presumption of formality or at least ask (Is it ok if I call you...?). Dr. Shapiro himself seems very knowledgeable and competent in terms of diagnosis and treatment of my condition, but I found him to be extremely condescending. He asked questions, and demanded a quick yes or no answer, to which he has a stock reply ready. There is no give and take. He frequently interrupted my answers and seemed to hear what he wanted to hear, instead of really listening, so he could recite what appeared to be his ready-made reply. When I said I had a few questions, he said, "Ok, I am going to step out for a minute. Now make a list, and when I came back, I want you to have all those questions lined up for me, ok?" Then, he returned and said, "Ok, shoot..." Not to sound full of baloney, but I am a well-educated person (I have a doctorate and I am a college professor) and am myself highly accomplished in my field. I feel like I am treated like a child with this man. He asked me to write down everything I eat. I did this on the notepad of my phone. He took one look at it, and said, "Potato chips are bad." (Duh!) I replied, "I am trying to be honest about what I ate." He then said, "I didn't say you were a bad person." Well, doc, I never said you said that, but in fact, you looked at my list, picked out ONE negative item, and then gave me back my phone, saying, "You can't expect me to read this." He's well meaning, I am sure. This site says he treats everyone like an individual, but that is not the feeling I got.
He was scolding but he made me feel like we were a team. I like that because you made me feel secure. if I had more than two thumbs all of them would've been up.
Dr. Shapiro is great! The office staff are all very nice. I have had almost no wait time while I was there. Highly recommend this office.
He is ok. He just talks fast and kind of rushes to get to the next patient.
It was extremely thorough which I always like. So happy taking all the tests because then I know they'll have access to all my issues and will better understand and help ME understand what's going on and how to handle it. Very quick and efficient Pleasant experience
Staff was very friendly & very helpful. Would definitely recommend! Dr. Shapiro was great!
Staff was very friendly and helpful
I believe the doctor was late due to a traffic issue. Awesome doctor.
Very knowledgeable and very professional
I would recommend Dr. Harry Shapiro to my family and friends.
I was very pleased with my 1st visit to Dr. Shapiro. They took me right on time and was pleased with the whole staff. The Dr. made me feel comfortable. Allen L
I really liked him, he made me feel extremely comfortable. I finally found an endocrinologist that I don't mind going to see!
I had a positive experience and trust that Dr. Shapiro will get to the root ofy problem. The front desk staff was very pleasant.
Great Staff. Very friendly and professional
Excellent.... Highly recommended
Very thorough they have a full lab and X-ray machine on hand to analyze ur samples very quickly.
I had my first visit, so far everybody was professional, and very kind. but will see later on after testing is done, how I will be helped with my problem.
I was presently surprised Doctor is really knowledgeable and nice And the staff very professional
Honestly, seeing is believing with these guys. They were SOOOOO good to me. And so fast and efficient. I couldn't ask for anything more. And it made it easier because I was seeing the doctor just before work.
I had an morning appointment with Dr. Shapiro--the first appointment of the day. I arrived on time, and there were already two patients in front of me. Yikes. From the time of my arrival until I was moved into a patient room was about 45 minutes--not HORRIBLE, but frustrating for an office that offers no early morning appointments and no evening appointments--I took off a few hours of work to go, and I lost more time because of inefficient scheduling. I will say that the nurse who saw me was excellent; explained everything she did and made me feel very comfortable. If Shapiro was as thorough as she was, I'd have felt better about it all. Unfortunately, I found that he didn't really listen to my concerns. I had a major issue, and a secondary that was marginally related; he focused in on the first and didn't even examine the physical condition related to my second issue, just mentioning that we'd get to the bottom if it. How can you fix it if you don't know what I'm talking about? At the end of my appointment, he didn't even tell me what our plan was--no, "Come back in a week and we'll talk about test results and next steps," just, "Take all of your personal items and follow the red sign on the wall," which I thought would take me to another testing room, but took me to the exit. He emphasized again and again that we're on the same team, that we're working together, etc. I guess I'm just not a team player--I'm a solo artist looking for a coach. I'll go back for my test results--and then take them to my next doctor.
Well what can i say, the staff was very nuce and friendly as well as the nurse and Dr Shapiro. I would definitly recommend him to others.
arrived at 1245 for a 1 pm appt. I was back in my car at 145! everyone was pleasant in the office. very nice bedside manner . he made me feel very comfortable. if inhad questions he answered. I didn't feel rushed at all. said I could call anytime if I had a problem .
Everyone in the office was very pleasant (even singing:). I was seen and tested almost immediately. Dr. Shapiro was very direct, and said that "this is not on you - WE will work on this together". I was very comfortable, and feel very good about how things will progress.
Dr. Shapiro is a very good doctor. The only drawback is that I was trying to explain my situation and he was not letting me express everything completely, seemingly because he is quite busy. But overall, he is professional and made me feel comfortable.
I travel an hour out of my way to see Dr. Shapiro because I love this place so much. The staff is great (especially Rimma!) and you really feel like you're part of a big extended family. Dr. Shapiro is always cheerful and encouraging, and at one visit when I was feeling especially low he said "we're in this together," which really warmed my heart. My only complaint is that I wish this place was closer.
I was seen relatively quickly. The staff was professional and courteous. Dr. Shapiro addressed all my concerns and explained everything clearly. Thank you.
Really liked him...very personable and very interested in helping me through a difficult time medically. Very thorough and took his time explaining everything to me in terms I understand. The office staff was great too. My only complaint is as in most doctors offices, the didn't have any extra large examining gowns readily available making it somewhat uncomfortable.
Really happy I went to his clinic. Very near my place and the wait didn't take long. They have a lab so it was very convenient that he already had the results before he even saw me. He's very reassuring, accomodating and explains things well.
Absolute BEST experience I have ever had in any medical facility IN MY LIFE. Every member of staff with whom I interacted, from receptionist to phlebotomist was effective, caring, and kind. Every individual is genuinely invested in creating the best possible experience for every patient. The care I received was immensely thorough. I had very many tests taken during this visit and all the results thereof were immediately available and conveyed to me. My visit felt exceedingly shorter than it was because of the efficiency with which everything is done. And Dr. Shapiro is immensely professional and personable. When he articulated that henceforth, in my problem I am "no longer alone", I truly believe him, and I cannot WAIT to return!
I have been coming to Dr. Shapiro for few months and im very pleased with him and his office. he is pleasant and very attentive. thank you for all your help.
I love this office and DR. Shapiro is great! He is understanding and caring, he helped me to do better in health in life...Thank you for all your help!
He is mentally sick person.
Very Knowledgeable and caring doctor and the very friendly staff will do the best they can to get you out asap..I will recommend to family and friends.
i waited for over 2 hours to be seen. the staff was incredibly rude. the receptionist had MULTIPLE hissy fits, loud enough for the patients in the waiting room to all hear her. seriously never going back.
Thank god for Brighton Beach Medical, I have called several offices and was told I have weeks wait and after callin Dr. S I was seen same day!
OMG I wish I listen to the bad reviews. I thought let give him the benefit of the doubt and see for myself. Big mistake, he is rude, extremely unfriendly. Money greedy, so much so, that he told me to go to another room without telling me what will be done. When I was there he apparently ordered exray of chest, neck, back and knees. You know what I came there for? Thyroid, that is all. Just to heal my thyroid. He is not even knowledgeable. Do your a favor and go to someone else. I do wonder how in the world he has so many good reviews, are they fake? I have no doubt about it. And don't get me started on the front desk staff, when I asked for my copy of the blood work, the lady looked at me like she was about to jump of her seat and rip my head of, and then said something to me with such an attitude. To all of you, just ask around your relatives or friends, maybe they know of someone great. I don't trust reviews so much anymore, it was a lesson learned.
He was really rushing me out of there, but I was late so that might explain why. He seemed very interested in actually helping me figure out what my problem was and cure it. He gave me some homework (which I did) to think up some questions to ask him the next visit. I am impressed as now that I think about it, most doctors really do not seem to care about actually figuring out your problem and helping you cure it. He was a breath of fresh air and I'm hoping maybe he can help me. I'll go to my next appointment and see if he is still rushing me though. If he's not then I'll give him a higher rating.
Like before it was very pleasant!!!
Great Dr helped me right of way!
I feel rushed. Even with questions. I was looking over my blood work results at home. I saw some results in question. Why was it not mentioned to me at my visit. This concerns me whether I am getting the the right medical attention to get me healthy, or I'm just paying my co-payment to say I am ok your good. Follow me out. To the exit door!
Excellent doctor , the staff was great and polite !!
Amazing staff, the service at this facility was amazing and everyone was so nice. This was the best doctors visit I have ever had.
This was my second apt and finally it all makes since, Dr. Shapiro explained everything to me and im on my way to a better life. Thank you Dr.S and staff!
This was my first visit to see Dr. Shapiro, I must say he was fast and on point. His office has a full lab and sono tech that did all my test. I was very impressed with the entire visit. thank you Dr. Shapiro and staff!
It was very nice
Fast, efficient service. NO time was waisted.
Worst Doctor ever! Do yourself a favor and stay away.
amazing doctor and all tests done on premises
Dr. Shapiro really exceeded my expectations; he was very nice In explaining everything to me and addressed my concerns with ease. I had all of the necessary tests done in one location and in one day, which is very convenient, and they have their own lab, which is another plus.
The doctor is eccentric but he will fix you good !
Wow a good dr, imagine that. I seem a ton of crappy drs but he was great. The staff was exceptional, caring and straight to the point. I got more accomplished there in one appt than I have in the last 6 seeing different drs who kept blowing me off. They seem to run a tight ship there. I think I finally after 4 long years found my permanent endocrinologist. Wish I k we about him sooner
I'm not sure what to make of my appointment. I was taken in immediately and had an EKG and blood drawn, before even seeing the doctor. Then he came in and asked me questions but did not seem to be paying attention to my answers. I was then whisked off for a batter of tests -- heart sonogram, chest X-ray and breathing test. Then the doctor came back in, sat down and literally mumbled into his tape recorder for 5 minutes. It was loud enough that, had he been forming words, I would have been able to understand him. But he was not even speaking intelligibly! I have no idea how taping himself mumbling will have any value to anyone. Then he basically said I was ok but would have to wait for the rest of the results. He told me to keep track of everything I eat, and exercise 3 times a week. I was asking him a question and he walked away, muttering something to an assistant. I didn't realize I was done until I was pointed towards a series of exit signs. At the patient checkout desk I was handed a "Type 2 Diabetes" meal planner. Uhhhhh what? The doctor didn't say anything about diabetes or following a diet. He didn't even bother to learn what I had been eating or he would know I'm a vegetarian doing an elimination diet so this planner is useless to me. I am still baffled by the whole experience. I hope next week's appointment where I get my test results goes better.
My visit was very nice they were very thorough and very polite. Everyone in the office were very nice . And lena was extremely nice she made me feel very relax and comfortable
It was my first visit and so I don't have too much to say as a follow-up will occur in two weeks with (hopefully) some answers. I can say that the office staff is terrific, every single one of them; kind, considerate and funny! My bloods and EKG were done within ten minutes of entering the examination room and the entire first visit, with multiple tests including an echocardiogram, was completed in two hours. I will say that two hours included 40 minutes of wait time, but that didn't bother me especially since the remaining time was used so efficiently. I met with the doctor twice and he was straighforward, as well as very kind and attentive, if a little rushed. I did not, however, feel slighted in any way. My guess is that the follow-up will be a little different as I hope to receive results. This office may not be it for everybody -- which is why I didn't give it five stars yet -- but thus far, it sure is it for me.
The consultation felt perfunctory and he didn't take the time to hear my medical history, so we ended up with more redundancies in the conversation than if he had just listened. That's not the sole reason for the low rating, though. On its own it would have been a minor annoyance. But the communication around costs was bad. I was told at the front desk that having paid my deductible there would be no further costs associated with the visit. I was then sent in for an ultrasound unrelated to what I had come in for -- which came out clear -- without being told that it would cost me extra, despite my trying to ask. I'm not from this country and made that clear to the doctor and staff when I was trying to ask how much the ultrasound would cost. (I am a native Anglophone, though, so I doubt my accent or diction were the issue.) Would not go again. It felt like I was rushed through an impersonal consultation, pushed into taking tests without clear communication around why, and then slapped with an unexpected bill after having been falsely told at the front desk that the deductible would be the only expense associated with my visit.
I usually do not wait too long, but I did wait an hour and 15 minutes yesterday, I think becasue it was a holiday, so just a heads up. Otherwise my wait is around is 20 minutes. But I do feel like he is working towards your well being, which is what we are there for anyway. He tells you the good and the bad, and has a great bedside manner.
I went in for thyroid issues. The doctor was very rushed and I felt he did not give me space to voice my concerns, however, they took an amazing amount of tests including a heart sonogram and xrays for congestion. He also got some of the lab results right away and noted that my blood sugar was high and may indicate diabetes. I have had diabetes symptoms all my life yet not one of the dozens of chronic fatigue doctors I have seen over the 7 years of being sick have taken this test. He gave me a great deal of confidence because of these tests.
I usually don't review doctors, but I was really impressed with the doctor/office. Usually when the doctor is good, the staff isn't, but eveyone was very nice from when I walked in the door to all the peeople who did the testing from when I left. Lena did my throat sonogram and had a soothing personality to calm your nerves. I didn't feel rushed by the doctor and he seemed knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Not to mention, I was seen 20 minutes within my appointment. They do all the testing there which is awesome! Great doctor, great staff. Difficult combination to find these days!
Very pleasant and professional. My nurse made the bood draw more relaxed for me. Something I get very nervous over. Like that reception girls were happy and polite.
The wait time was the best, Dr. Shapiro was a sweetheart. The front desk staff need to be more professional especially in regard to conversations they have out loud.
He was good took his time and explained his findings to you was professional and I love that everything he needed for me was right in his facility
Both Dr. Shapiro, and his staff were terrific. The doctor is very nice, and took his time with me. The staff was equally as nice, and I was in with the doctor within 15 mins of my scheduled appt. Very comfortable atmosphere. Highly Recommended!
Never been to a clinic that had everything on site. Everyone was so nice. I have already recommended him to 6 people.
Along with Dr. Shapiro, everyone in the office - receptionists, nurses, technicians - are very caring & helpful. Thank you.
They do diagnostic tests right away no waiting. Great doctor very positive attitude. Highly recommend
Very thorough, professional,he is an excellent doctor. I am so glad I traveled so far to see him. He is the second doctor that I have seen in the past week that has restored my faith in the medical profession. I feel like I will just fine in his hands.
Keeps you waiting for over an hour, both in the waiting room and then when you get to each examining room.
As soon as I walked in I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff and nearly instantly put in a room. I was explained the visit procedure and made very comfortable. Dr.Shapiro came by to see me and speak to me about all my concerns and I was out of the office soon, feeling relieved and surprised at the experience at this office as opposed to others Ive been to. Very competent doctor and staff and my tests are mostly all done here!
