About Dr. Jacquelyn Lahoud
Jacquelyn Lahoud is a considerate and qualified internist, primary care doctor, and infectious disease specialist serving the community of Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Lahoud attended the Ross University School of Medicine where she received her degree in medicine. She then completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious disease at Maimonides Medical Center.
Dr. Lahoud is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine Alabama Chapter, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Lahoud has participated in many volunteer activities, including mentoring underprivileged children in Scranton, PA. The wait was too long.

First off, my appointment was at 10AM. I arrived at 10:05AM and there were 3 other patient in front of me. I wasn't led into the doctor's office until 11:30AM. I didn't meet the doctor until 11:50AM. That's almost a 2 hour wait to see the doctor, which I think is absolutely unacceptable.
Secondly, the doctor's assistant never went through any of the (mind you, 9 page) paperwork I filled out in the waiting room. She didn't even weigh me or measure my height. She simply asked me if I knew how much I weighed and how tall I was.... I gave her an estimate and she jotted it down in my file - how is that professional?
When the doctor finally saw me, I was so upset and annoyed at how long I waited and she can clearly tell. That's when she said she won't hold me long and rushed through my entire visit. She left for a nurse to come in to take my blood and never came back to follow-up. When asked the nurse if I'm good to go and she said yep.. so I walked out the door.

This was my first time at this office and actually I was seen by Dr. Lorraine Bertelle, who I was told is her mother and she was great. I explained to her that the reason why I was there is because I want to switch my PCP because I am no longer satisfied with my doctor and his manners and I am looking for a doctor that is first and foremost a good listener and is not going to talk over me as I am explaining my symptoms and is not quick to rush me out of the office leaving me feeling puzzled and questioning how I feel, Instead she was attentive, she listened to me and explained things to me calmly and took her time with me. Also, she did all the right tests according to the medical reasons why I was there. The staff is friendly and also very helpful. The office gets packed and there is a bit of a waiting time. I did ask a few people how they like the doctors and staff and I got nothing but positive feedback from them, so in the end I think it’s worth coming to their medical facility and giving them a chance.

Extremely unprofessional. I had a 9:30am apt and the doctor didn’t even get to the office until 11am. I filled out paperwork stating what my issues were and the doctor didn’t even look at my file. I had a complaint that I was sick and my nose throat or ears weren’t even checked.

I really liked Dr. Lahoud and would recommend her to friends and family. The only downside was the wait time, but it's cold and flu season so I wasn't surprised that the waiting room was full of sick people.

I agree with the other reviewer that the office appears very hectic and a bit discombobulated. However, Dr. Lahoud has an excellent bedside manner and is very thorough--this makes visiting the office worth it.

Impressions: My overall experience was just outstanding. I've not, in my professional career, enjoyed interacting with people unknown to me - who I had to let get so close to me. In this office, the total experience was smooth, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and WARM. All of this just radiated outward.
Due to my lifestyle I've needed complete physicals, at times, more frequently than annually. From all manner of medical providers - military, civilian (government contracted), civilian (selected by me), and 3rd world. Aviation and Diving exams. Travel Medicine - periods of time out of US.
I dislike walking thru someone's door and "feeling" a cranky front office :)) Tells me the rest of the place may follow with the same attitude - right up to the top. For me, It's not always, all about the experience I have with 1 person at the end of the line. We're all living on the same planet; we all have the time to share a moment, not be aloof or arrogant, treat everyone with a smile or warm word.
I found all of this great interaction - along with the requisite high levels of knowledge and professional expertise - from front office right on up to Doc Lahoud. Made for a warm feeling. Huge level of energy in the office - makes one feel as if he or she was the ONLY one in the place, at that point in time. It's a win-win for me. I've been looking for a provider for a few years where I could settle down and obtain continuity of care from really professionally capable people who can think on their feet. I'm comfortable with someone who is progressive and modern in their thinking rather than stuck in a time warp.
I feel the office is well staffed & well managed, everyone shows care & concern, reflects high levels of professional expertise, knowledge & experience - competence. Thank you - Al

While the office appears vey hectic and somewhat dated, I never felt rushes by the doctor. She went beyond what other doctors were willing to do and found a diagnosis that was overlooked by 3 other doctors. Highly recommended!!
