Dr. James S. Park is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine, Clinical Director of the NYU Langone Medical Center hepatology practice at Great Neck, and Co-Director of the hepatology practice at Tisch Hospital, NYU Langone Medical Center.

Board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology, Dr. Park is also a UNOS-certified liver transplant physician. His clinical practice is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of patients who have serious and complex liver diseases, such as cirrhosis, hepatitis, acute liver disease, chronic liver disease, and liver cancer.

Dr. Park's research interests include the study of viral hepatitis B and C, liver cancer, nutritional aspects of liver disease, and management of the complications of cirrhosis. He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, and has contributed numerous articles, abstracts, book chapters, and books to the scientific literature.

Dr. Park received his medical degree from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at University of New York at Buffalo. He did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine. He completed a one-year Hepatology clinical research fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a fellowship in Gastroenterology, Nutrition, and Hepatology at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center where he worked as a liver faculty and transplant attending physician until he started at NYU Langone Medical Center.
