About Dr. Jonathan Thurm
*We have a 24 hour cancellation policy* Dr. Jonathan Thurm is a graduate of the New York College of Podiatric medicine and completed a residency in foot surgery. He has been in private practice since 1989. Dr. Thurm is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, the most prestigious board available. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot Surgeons and has been invited as a special lecturer on many podiatric topics. Dr. Thurm’s uses minimal invasive surgery (MIS). MIS allows to correct foot deformities and pathologies through a very small incision. Utilizing this special technique, there is much less exposure, soft tissue injury, swelling, and scarring thereby reducing pain. There is also no use of pins, wires or screws that can break or need to be removed with another surgery. MIS allows patients to walk on their feet immediately without the need of casts, crutches or canes. Most patients can return to work the next day after most procedures, meaning less down time and a quick return to normal activities.

Patient reviews for Dr. Jonathan Thurm
Huge waste of time. I visited Dr. Thurm after stubbing my pinky toe and in excruciating pain and not able to wear a shoe. He was personable and friendly. However I needed would care and he just squeezed my toe, said it was fine and talked about future bone surgery unrelated to my toe. Two weeks later my toe was infected and I went to urgent care. The infection cleared right up after 7 days of antibiotics.
It was hard to tell how much Jonathan actually cared about my specific problem. Instead, he felt much more like a salesman trying to convince me to go for a particular procedure. I went elsewhere for a second diagnosis.
Doctor Thurm spend a good deal of time going over my symptoms and what he thinks the issue is. Very thorough.
Nice office. He's a very thorough doctor.
Dr. Thurm is a great podiatrist. This is my second time being treated by him and he's able to quickly and confidently identify the problem and make a recommendation on course of treatment. I am a runner and as a result end up with multiple foot issues. I would not trust anyone else!
Great doctor. No wait at all. He was very knowledgeable and was able to take x-rays and diagnose my issue right away. I'm very happy with the service!
Dr Thurm was very professional and friendly and approachable. I left feeling very comfortable with his advice and would recommend him to all my friends.
Very personable, spent a lot of time with me (nearly an hour). Presented a few options, but all were surgical procedures. Since this was my first visit, I would have appreciated at least one non-surgical recommendation. (To be fair to him, I didn't ask for one when I was there as I didn't think of it, I was somewhat overwhelmed with the diagnosis.) He was able to quickly understand where the pain in my foot was. Based on his examination of my feet recommended almost the exact same procedure we initially discussed before he confirmed it with the x-rays. I will need to go back with more questions once I've digested the information, but I liked him and will definitely go back to him.
They were nice and the office was small but well equipped. But Dr. Thurm felt more like a salesman than a doctor to me. He was very cocky and didn't make me feel very comfortable so I went to another surgeon for my bunionectomy.
Dr. Thurm let me know that I was his first patient in his new office which was pretty cool. He was calm and confident in his explanation and knew fairly quickly what my ailment was and how to fix it.
Avoid - ZocDoc has been unable to contact Mr. Thurm for over a week after he charged my credit card without notifying my insurance (which, according to ZocDoc, was in-network). Called my insurance, and he hasn't been in network since 2012. Visited the office to confront, and told he "just rents a room here but doesn't work for us." They are not able to get in contact with him. Run away!
Great doctor Highly recommended !
He took the time to explain in detail what needs to be done.
He's really great and he is very detailed. I liked him a lot.
I had my right foot bunion removal 9 years ago with Dr, Thurm and now I came back for the left foot. I feel very good do not even look like I ever had it on my right foot. I recommend this doctor to everybody . He is pleasant professional experienced podiatrist. Alla.
he was awesome I felt at easy from start to finish
Dr. Thurm was very professional. He is very clear and takes the time to explain what he is saying. I did not feel rushed and felt very respected as a patient. I would definitely recommend him.
Great and professional doctor!
I was really happy to fill out the new patient paperwork online, so when I arrived all I needed to do was sign. I was seen exactly at my appointment time, the office staff was friendly and efficient and Dr. Thurm's bedside manner was friendly and professional.
Great. He has the latest technology and was able to confirm with use of a sonogram for the feet! I was in and out. Highly recommend.
Dr Thurm was easy going and helpful. I had broken my toe and he fixed it right up.
Dr. Thurm is thorough and affable. He's easy to talk to and he listens well. Dr. Thurm made x-rays and asked a lot of questions before recommending a treatment program. No guess work, so I felt good about moving forward with a regime.
Fantastic!
Very knowledgeable. Easy to answer questions -- not that you need to ask. He explains everything very well.
My first visit when very well. I will be back in August to see Dr. Thurm.
