She knows me well. I couldn't function without her expertise.
The intake is thorough and friendly from Dr. Price's staff and I always feel that the trimet light rail one-hour each way is well worth it for helping me "manage nature" -- the pollens, the whatever that cause minor to moderate allergy issues. Dr. Price tailors thoughtfully to how things seem to be going and had two or three options to try if I want to tinker, but this visit was to talk about renewing a prescription. I have a handout for considering the new therapy of drops for the mouth . . . always printed guidance if needed for followup. There can be a while waiting but I always have something to read or work on and I would want a good doctor to have flexibility for others who need more time . . . I am afraid I take up too much time both for staff and Dr. Price as it is, but they patiently welcome the over-information I probably provided. I found out this time a more direct way to get to the 9701 office building from Sunset TC Transit Center . . . a five minute cut-across walk whereas I thought I had to walk down Barnes Rd farther and hang a left up a drive. Maybe the name of the building could be on the website. I had never noticed the 9701 high on the building easy to see from Barnes before and still cannot remember the name of the building, but associating the office with St. Vincent's or whatever complex confused me on earlier visits.
She is fabulous!! Has many ideas about how to help you and always listens and gives you time to ask questions. She is so kind!!
Dr Kursteen Salter Price, is the Doctor that I was looking for, for my current condition. She is very thorough and attentive to her patients from what I have experienced. I highly suggest her to folks.
Feeling Very Hopeful that Dr Salter Price will be able to help and work towards a resolution for my situation. I felt that the whole staff was excellent in their particular positions.
Dr. Price is an is a rare doctor, her depth and range of knowledge within her field of practice is exceptional. In particular, if you are seeking help with complicated health issues she will go beyond the standard blood testing and routine physical. When your test results come back negative, she doesn't shrug her shoulders and say sorry, try an anti-depressant. She understands (as many doctors apparently do not) and is not afraid of the idea that our complicated bodies can have complicated health issues that interact with each other and that there are times when a doctor needs to act as investigator. That said, she is a bit different and I could see some people being put off. My only complain is that the office she works is awful. The clerical and scheduling staff as well as some nurses are just unhelpful and downright unpleasant. It reminds of living back in NY. They will not offer or go out of their way to be helpful in any way. I would absolutely not go to this practice if I had a choice but Dr. Price is one of only a few doctors on the west coast with training in my particular health concerns. Oh well, still glad I found her.
Dr. Price is an AMAZING physician with a broad knowledge base and is very communicative and personable. If she cannot help you, she rolls her sleeves up to find someone who can, and she knows that one size does not fit all in medicine and looks at the big picture. She brilliantly diagnosed 2 very rare and aggressive diseases that I have after Loma Linda, Stanford and OHSU could not. She is not only brilliant, but she is an amazing person who gives her life in service to others. I am a healthcare professional myself and find Dr. Price to be a rare gem!
Dr Price is excellent. There might be a wait, but that is because she takes her time with her patients. We never feel rushed, she answers all questions, and provides helpful solutions.
Dr Salter Price is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her patients. She has a few different nurses and some are better than others so if you don't get a great one today, try again. Domenique is the best nurse in that office! She listens & wants to help solve your problems and she never acts rushed.
Excellent as always, one of the best.
This was my first time with this doctor. I went into the appt assuming that there would be a wait - as others had said that. I felt that she was thorough in her questions and listened to what I had to say.
My primary Doc has thought for years I had allergies. Dr Price suggested maybe I have acid reflux instead due to my symptoms, maybe diet change/time of eating & perhaps a visit to ear nose & throat Dr. might be useful, gave a list of recommended ones. Also suggested a mild over the counter allergy med to try or not as I did have mild symptoms of allergies. She asked pertinent questions, was quick, gentle and to the point. She seemed very knowledgable. I'm glad I went!
This was my first time seeing Dr. Price and the entire staff was so kind and helpful. The ladies working at the front desk were very helpful and hospitable, but unfortunately I was so nervous I don't know the name of the woman who helped me. She had short, dark hair and a pleasant face. The first person from the medical staff I spoke with was Rebecca C. and she was very personable, attentive, and thorough. I felt completely comfortable from the get-go even though I have social anxiety disorder. She told me exactly what I could expect from the appointment and when I expressed concern regarding the costs of the tests and how much my insurance would cover, she was totally understanding. Dr. Price herself was very warm, gentle, and soft-spoken. One of the things I worried about was how my case would be perceived by the doctor; I suspected I was allergic to cats [I am] and I own three of them and work as a veterinary assistant. I was worried she would tell me I had no choice but to get rid of my cats and quit my job. However, she was very understanding and her long-term plan allows me to keep my pets and hopefully bring me some comfort. Her scribe, Sal, was very nice as well! Lastly, I met with Domenique L. She was the technician [I'm not sure of her actual title; I was so nervous] who administered the prick test and a vaccine. She was so helpful and kind and was honest and up front with me about recommendations I'd heard from other people and how they might help [or might not help] with my issue. I really appreciated how kind she was, and the fact that she talked me through everything. Everyone was really great! They took time to explain things without being patronizing and were all so great! To be honest this was the first time I was excited about a doctor's appointment [my allergies have bothered me for years] and they didn't disappoint at all. I'm very grateful I met these lovely people!
Dr Price and her staff are amazing. Dr. Price's approach is wholistic and she provides unique strategies that minimize the side-effects of typical western medicine approaches. Her assistants are very helpful and knowledgable and always get back to me in a timely way when I call with a question. Anyone who is suffering from allergies, immune system issues, GI issues related to allergens, etc. should try Dr. Price. She is one of a kind. It is a trek for me to go to her office, but she is worth it. I highly recommend Dr. Price.
Intelligent, compassionate and skilled care, Dr Price is outstanding and well worth waiting for : )
While my experience and testing is on going, on this first visit, Dr. Salter Price connected some unexpected dots for me - proof positive that her diagnoses are holistic in consideration. She was engaged, friendly and informative with immediate solutions while being clear about next steps and objectives for minimizing my seasonal discomfort.
I have been very pleased with Dr. Price's approach regarding my medical problem.
awesome dr - took time to be seen but all apologized....very impressed
Although the wait time can be a bit long, I truly don't mind because Dr. Price takes time with her patients. She's thorough in educating them and answering their questions; I never feel like she's trying to rush me to get out of the room and on to the next patient.
Great staff, wait time was much longer than I'd have liked since I had to be absent from work for the appointment.
She's my hero!
Dr.Kursteen Sulter Price is an incredibly gifted and brilliant physician, who spends the time and energy to properly assess and address very complicated issues and knows who and where to send you to when a Comprehensive Allied Health Care Team approach is needed. Thankyou for walking alongside me in this journey. S.P.A.
Very nice person and very dedicated to helping me. I highly recommend her to anyone with allergies, etc.
I wish I'd been referred to her five years ago. Her staff are very professional and the communication is excellent. Intake notes on symptoms are taken by a nurse, read by Dr Price whose recommendations are also written by a scribe. After the visit her treatment plans are again gone over with by a nurse so that treatment and prescriptions are understood.
Dr. Price is very professional and knowledgeable. One of the things I appreciate most about her is that she respects my concerns and opinions, particularly regarding taking medications. The one thing that I find frustrating is that I usually have to wait about 45 minutes in the waiting room before I'm even taken into an examination room where I talk with the nurse, then wait another 15 minutes before Dr. Price comes in. Consequently, an appointment usually means that I'm in the doctor's office 90 minutes including the waiting time.
Each time I have seen Dr. Price, my office visit takes more than three hours for a 10 minute consult plus testing. If the ten minutes is up, she backs out of the room and nurses come in. My questions have not been answered. I always have trouble getting my test results sent to my primary care doctor, even after many calls and requests to Dr. Price's office staff.
As always Dr. Price was thorough, took the time necessary and had a very pleasing bedside manner. The long wait was due to bad weather and road conditions for which Dr. Price apologized.
Dr. Price is the best and I would highly recommend her. She is very professional, very knowledgeable, and a good educator. The only negative is the wait time to get in to see her. This has been my experience every time I see her, and not just this visit. Based on that I had allowed an hour that day for my time to be at her office. The assistant called me into the exam room after I had waited 1/2 hour in the waiting room. I asked her if I was going to be able to out by the time I needed to leave for my next appointment. She said she would make sure that I got seen next. I was grateful for that, but knew that it meant that others, in their exam rooms, would just need to wait longer. I greatly appreciate the time that Dr. Price spends with me. I think that either her patients should not be scheduled so closely together OR her patients should be told to allow plenty of time as they will need to wait.
I arrived 15 minutes early, like I was told, to fill out the appropriate paperwork. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30, yet I didn't see the actual doctor until 9:35. Actual appointment was very good and very informative, but the wait time was unacceptable.
Dr. Price is wonderful. Kind and full of practical ideas. Good teacher. The wait to see her however was unacceptable. I was warned at check in that it might be half an hour and it was over an hour. During that time no one updated me about further delays. I can't spend half a day just trying to get my child in and out of an allergy appointment. I am seriously considering finding a new practice though we would miss Dr. Price.
Very professional staff. Dr. Price was very personable and informative.
Dr. Price is probably the best allergist for mast cell-related issues in the Pacific Northwest. Without her help, I would be struggling, in pain, and exhausted.
Dr Price obviously knows her subject well. She is a good communicator, expresses sincere interest in the problems at hand. She has a well-organized practice. We were impressed by her assistant as well.
She is always a delight to see. She listens to her patients.
She's excellent at looking at unusual presentations and making sense of them. Expert in Mast Cell Activation Disorder and subtle allergies that affect function and quality of life. Very personable.
Dr. Price is excellent at her job. I have been her patient for 10 years and I am happy with her care. She can run behind your appt. time, but it is because she spends quality time with her patients. She never rushes you.
I felt Dr. Price was very knowledgeable and encouraging regarding our son's asthma and allergies. I left feeling confident about our action plan and the care we received from her.
The office staff were very professional as well as friendly. Dr Salter Price was very personable and knowledgeable.
I have used Dr. Price for quite awhile. She is organized, very competent, imaginative, and easy to talk with. Her office is very efficient and friendly.
Professional, pleasant personality
great team and communication
She is the best allergist I've ever had - highly recommended.
I thought Kursteen and Monica were great. They were very knowledgable and thorough. I feel like they are addressing concerns I have presented doctors numerous times over the past years that were brushed aside. Would definitly recommend. I am always really irritated when I don't get in on time. They brought me in 20 minutes after my appointment. How would they like it if I showed up 20 minutes late?
Very good. Answered all our questions.
I needed to get paperwork out of the way, so wait time wasn't an issue.
I thought that by having an early morning appointment, I would not have the typical medical office wait. Wow, was I wrong! More than an hour past my appointment time before I was called in. The assistant said "sorry for the wait, but we are so busy this morning." What? Isn't everyone being seen by appointment? Isn't there some control with that. And seriously... If they are this far behind at 9 am, I feel VERY sorry for the afternoon appointments.
My 9-year-old son saw Dr. Price today. She was great with him! We also got a lot of new information about his allergies and asthma and how to manage them better.
She's the best mast cell savvy allergist in the Pacific Northwest, at least as far as I am concerned. She also has a great staff. I don't mind waiting a little to see her, because I know I will get great advice when I do, and she will take extra time with me, just as she does with her other patients.
Dr.Price is very knowledgable regarding Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, a rare disorder that most doctors have never heard of. She is willing to listen and try different treatments to tailor care specifically to each patient (my daughter and I each have MCAS and she understands our important differences and carefully adjusts our treatments accordingly). Dr. Price is also a very kind hearted person. The only drawback is distance and long waits (our first appt was at 11 and she didn't enter patient room until 12:45). She is in high demand so expect a long wait, but I do believe she's well worth the time and effort.
This was my initial visit to Dr Salter Price, and I was very pleased. The wait time (after filling out paperwork - which really could have been online with the rest of their forms) was minimal, her staff was well trained and thorough, and the doctor was engaging, interested in my overall health, and explained how she would like to proceed. I'm looking forward to working with her to figure out my allergies.
Her new location is great and so waiting time is quite short. I have never trusted a doctors advice, observations and recommendations as I do Dr. Price. Her team is top notch and they all make sure I understand any further instructions, or queries about my visit. Dr. Price is the Sherlock Holmes of Portland. We have a jewel in our midst!
She is very knowledgeable in her field and easy to talk with and spent the time that we needed.
I liked her and the staff were great. She is cautious with prescriptions to avoid potential side effects which I appreciate. The wait was long.
Professional, detailed and thorough examination. She definitely goes the extra mile and I really appreciate that in a physician!
Dr. Price has been my allergy physician for nine years. She is incredibly knowledgeable and explains everything she does or recommends. She is thus a mentor for us allergy/asthma patients who want to be part of the team. Couldn't recommend her higher!
The nurse and staff were great, very friendly and professional.
Love Dr. Price!
As usual she guides me carefully through my difficult medical condition with expertise and patience. Excellent doctor.
The wait was riduculously long !!!!!! Waited approx 35 mins in the waiting room, once I got to the room I saw seen by a nurse / assistant, whoever she was. After she left the room i waited close to 30 min and before I had to get up go out and try to find someone to help me. I was told Dr Price would be in in a few min, now by this time its been over an hour since I checked in. I went back to the room , after 10 more min and still no doc i had to go find someone to help. I was told Dr Price was over-booked. Thats not my problem !! Whats the point in making an appt if no one stays on their shcedule. When all said and done, i left there almost 2 HOURS after I checked in. So not acceptable. I'm considering changing doctors if this keeps up. Sad part is Dr Price has been the only one to help me with my allergy issues and I'd rather not change but I'm considering it. As I dont have 2+ hrs to kill at a doctors office. And it was just to talk about changing my meds. Hmmmmmm.... I'm one unhappy patient
Fantastic Doctor, many thanks!
Very helpful and understanding. Seemed genuinely interested in helping solve my issue
Dr. Price is WONDERFUL !!! Unfortunately the wait time is far too long. They should schedule her for 30 minutes minimum with each patient.
The Dr. Is great but they had none of the forms I filled out on line so I had to start over and then the wait was extremely long but the office didn't seem full of patients. I was there for two hours, fifteen minutes of which was with the staff or the doctor
She's worth the wait. She's very thorough, kind, and talks with you not at you.
I have a very complex medical problem concerning CVID. Dr. Salter-Price is up on all the latest and most effective ways to deal with this disease. She is tenacious, caring and focused.
From both her staff and Dr. Price, I experienced a very efficient and kind "listen" to my agenda of questions about managing my allergies that seem related to migrainish headaches and about managing my blood pressure as I age for as long as I can without medication. And the things to try were patiently and clearly explained, for which thanks to all. Dr. Price's office is moving another seven miles from my eastside Portland apartment, but making the trip will always be worthwhile.
My issue is complex and Dr. Price is determined to and dedicated to assisting me in finding a less painful and a better quality of health. She is honest, forthright and dependable. She remains the most competent sleuth of complex medical issues involving immunology in the PDX and surrounding areas.
Very personable. Takes pains to explain options.
I was recommended to Dr. Price when I was a huge mess with my allergies and asthma. I have progressively improved the quality of my life under her care and although I am still having some problems, she still works closely with me to help find answers. I believe Dr. Price thinks outside of the box and is very knowledgeable!!!
Dr. Price is a life saver for those of us who suffer from chronic immune system dysfunction that other alllergists just don't get.
She looks at everything very thoroughly and comes up with options for the best treatments. She is very caring
Dr. Price is very nice, kind and clear in what she says.
Staff was knowledgeable, helpful and thorough. The doc knew what she was doing and explained everything.
As usual, excellent advice, great advocate for my needs, and respective to hearing any queries. Always does her best to answer, or does research until she has all the information.
The only disappointing thing with the office was that when I went to check out and get my follow up appointment, I was given two choices to come in 7:00 or 8:00. I told the lady that those times do not work for me and she told me that I had to come early because I was getting more tests. I asked her If I could get a 9:00 or 9:45 that would work better with my schedule. she would not book it for me. So I told her with great hesitation I guess If I have to I will take the 8:00. Knowing I was going to cancel the appointment and book the time I wanted on line. I wish she would of just given me the time that worked for me. thank goodness for Zoc Doc!!!!! I was able to get the time I needed.
Very nice, we knew it wouldn't be good news but she assured us that she can help my daughter to feel better and we believe her!
Best doctor I have ever had. Worst office I have ever endured.
Dr. Price is one of the finest and brightest physicians in her field. Her comprehensive approach to patient-centered care is driven by a fundamental desire to improve the health of her patients. So, while you may wait longer than you'd like, be assured that she will take just as much time with you as she did with the patient before you. And as an added bonus, you will leave feeling better than you did when you arrived. She is just THAT good.
It was great, but a two and a half hour wait is waaaay to long.
I will continue to work with Dr. Price. She thorough and spent time explaining treatment options. She was very professional and at the same time was able to keep a very serious situation for me in prospective with her sense of hummer. Hank
Dr. Price is the is the Sherlock Holmes of finding what ails you and the cure for those ills. Attentively listens, and in turn carefully explains. Great staff and follow through.
Doctor is great but wait time is always long.
very thorough, explained everything, and was so nice!
It was a good experience. The Dr. and staff were helpful. It was my first visit.
I was so impressed with Dr Price's wealth of knowledge and insights! I really appreciated the time she spent answering my questions and explaining different treatment options. She and her staff were courteous and friendly.
Very friendly and competent office and medical staff.
She was amazing! Super attentive and very knowledgeable. I have been having allergic reactions to almost every food and Dr Price has offered some tests and solutions for me. I previously saw another doctor associated with the practice who was terrible. Dr Price is like a breath of fresh air for me. I'm happy to be seen by someone so competent and caring.
Great advice. Caring physician. Good advice...../Her Nurse needs some polishing!
As usual she is concise, caring and conscientious. Because my appointment was running a bit late she came out and escorted me to her office wherein we had a very efficient and thorough exchange of information. Her staff is very friendly and efficient.
She is an amazing doctor. Focus is on the patient.
i HAVE BEEN SEEING DR. PRICE FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND AM ALWAYS HAPPY WITH HER.
Dr. Salter is an amazing physician...her vast clinical knowledge and holistic approach with patients is a rarity in the field of medicine, in my opinion. She did not disappoint me in this respect for today's visit for my 3 year old son - (I have seen her for my allergy issues in the past). Unfortunately, everything else regarding the visit for my son today was very disappointing. I realize a couple issues occurred for the office/physician staff that were likely out of their control, however, the issues were not handled professionally in regards to interacting with the patients....ultimately their paying customers. i will be respectful to the office/physician staff and refrain from going into the details, however, the behavior and lack of communication was completely UNACCEPTABLE today. I really hope this is not the NORMAL - I would like my son and I to come back.
Fantastic, best I've seen.
Bright, great problem-solving mind who does her homework. It feels great to have such a quality consultation closeby. All of her staff are bright quick thinking folks like my two daughters! I almost feel like I get too much time and careful listening for what I am able to pay as a retired academic with medicaire and an advantage insurance program.
As usual Dr. Price was very concerned about my well being. She explained her plan very clearly, she was thorough and very personable.
Staff was very friendly, especially the RN that did my testing. The consult was very thorough: I walked away with knowing some of my allergy triggers, an order for lab work and a new allergy med rx.
As usual concise, and great personable and warm manner. I have an immune deficiency disease which had me literally bedridden. But thanks to Dr. Price's keen attention to detail, her Sherlock Holmes like detection, and finally her diagnosis and way to proceed has given me my life back again! Thank you!
Dr. Price is a fantastic doctor. She literally saved my life and put me back together. I was a mess with allergies, asthma, polyps, sinus infections, hives etc and today I am functioning very well in all of these areas....Dr. Price thinks out of the box and really works hard at helping her patients. ..I feel so fortunate to have been referred to her.
I am happy with her.
Dr. Price was very kind and caring; She really helps me how to manage allergy symptoms and figuring out what causing my allergy. She is well-knowlegable. Highly recommended.
Excellent information, very informative. Grateful she is in Portland.
Dr. Price is very responsive to my needs and concerns. She takes a personal interest in you as a patient.
My visit was good, I trust Dr. Price, and I like that she seems very current on research being done. That said, for my last appointment I left after 45 minutes not having seen her, and today I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes before she came in. That's really not fair or respectful of her patients.
She is the best allergist I've ever had!
Love Dr. Price and staff but the wait was pretty long this time. Appt was at 11:15, didn't see the doc until 12:15 maybe?
Very pleasant and very smart.
She is very pleasant and a collobrator on my health issues.
She was patient and wanted to find the best option for me through listening to what I had to say instead of just insisting on a certain way. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
She's an awesome doc! Caring, on top of all my issues & a pleasure to deal with!
She is very personable and professional.
She is a very, very smart doctor, and I wish I had found her years ago. Appointment date: 09/13. Liz
The doctors and nurse were great. Very professional and respectful. I can not say the same about the front desk receptionist. She was rude, and talked down to me. She truly rubbed me the wrong way to the point that I do not want to visit again just on the chance that I will probably have to see her again. Sad. :(
The staff, both front and back office, were professional, personable and efficient. Dr. Price seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. She was unable to ascertain the source of my problem during this appointment, but suggested a change that I can make prior to my next appointment that may help identify the reason for my allergy.
Entire team was highly professional and intelligent. I am so happy to have found Dr. Salter Price and her entire staff.
Dr. Price was very thorough and all of the staff at the office were super friendly and helpful.
Dr. Price put me back together as I was a hot mess with my allergies and asthma. She thinks outside of the box and I owe my improved health due to her awesomeness!!!! I have been her patient since 2010.
She is very thorough.
Friendly people, intelligent compassionate helpful (and sometimes funny!) service. The best!
Dr Price and her staff were very thorough discussing my health since my last visit a year ago. My follow up visit today was needed to continue my prescriptions. I was very satisfied to discuss my allergies and receive suggestions for dealing with associated skin issues. Dr Price has a very sincere manner and shares information and answers questions in a very respectful way. Every time I see Dr Price I feel fortunate to have found a Physican who is tune with my allergies.
Dr Price is thorough, thoughtful, and willing to explain everything to me in a way that I can understand. The nurses are also excellent.
As usual, Dr. Price is extremely informative and approachable. She thinks outside the box, and puzzles thru symptoms and science to diagnose, and makes sure all your queries are answered.
Dr. Price is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to explain anything at any level of detail that you wish. She is the only doctor that I have ever seen that figured out what was wrong with me that had been previously misdiagnosed for multiple years that required needless drugs with horrible side effects.
She seems great - very thorough and responsive.
Very nice, very knowledgeable.
She's bright, thinks holistically and is current with medications and procedures for care.
Dr. Price is one of a kind! Very knowledgable and provides explanations so that you understand your condition/etc. She has a integrative, holistic approach to medicine which is refreshing in this day.
Had to wait 45 minutes to see her.
She is brilliant.
Knowledge, support, concern and care from the doctor and staff. Thank you for the time and interest in getting me better!
Great doctor, very informed and effective
Dr. Price is the most thorough, intelligent specialist I've ever seen. She wants feedback, listens and responds with wisdom and compassion.
It just reminded me of why I like her so much. She is caring and personable and always looking to better my care.
Very helpful- she is always very compassionate .
Great staff, great doctor, but afternoon appointments (as with most doctor offices) usually require waiting. Dr. Salter-Price has helped me considerably and I would highly recommend her to anyone with allergy and/or immunology issues.
She and her staff are extremely professional, thorough, and friendly. The whole office, from the front office staff to all the staff providing medical care are exceptional.
I always feel good about Dr. Price. She knows her stuff! She explains her reasoning for suggesting a regimen so that I can understand what to do and why. Allergy medicine is not exact and I appreciate Dr. Price and her knowledge.
I always have a good experience with both Dr. Price and the staff at this office.
Personable and interesting. The nurses were really fun, too.
Dr. Price was very sweet & helpful. I felt comfortable with her & trust her opinion.
