Dr. Martin was so understanding of me having to go back to work the day of my appointment, so she made sure to run tests that were appropriate for the day given my schedule. She was very funny and kind to work with while also professional. She is clearly knowledgeable and caring! The offices were nice as well as very convenient. I would highly recommend!

I came in for an eye exam and had a good experience here. Clean, organized and welcoming environment. Dr. Martin was friendly, professional, and explained things clearly. Unlike other places I have visited, there was no pressure to purchase new glasses from them immediately following my exam, which I appreciated! The office also helped me figure out what was covered by my insurance, so that I could get the most affordable care possible. Definitely recommend.

I was way too much out of my way to drive from Medford to the South End; I was very worried driving there because I was not used to the area and I do not drive into the South End all that much. I was told at the front desk that for some reason the Zoc Doc was not *set up properly ? I really needed some attention, but I was angry because they made me sit in the waiting room, and no one talked, or said anything. Aside from that being stuffy and uncomfortable, it got me angry. I had to walk down a flight of stairs into the exam room, and that was a little scary. Since I have a left knee problem. I should have only booked a Consultation and not a total eye exam, because I had never been in there before, and had never met the people there. Still, I have my old glasses which I had paid over $250 for, and which were fitted at The New England Medical Center and these are my Back up Glasses. I use them on my computer and at HOME. These are Very Valuable because They are Used as a BACK UP Pair; HENCE, THE VALUE. I was also really angry and mad when one of the persons, a lady there, had insulted me; and it clearly felt like she was trying to con me into spending more money on another pair of glasses from their shop. She did not accomodate any of the questions that I had asked. And they did not do what I had asked on the Zoc Doc Form, about keeping my same Glasses Prescription, EITHER. She tried to tell me that the glass that I was wearing were No good and of no use. ???? That was THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING ANY PERSON could even think about saying. And then, during the visit, the Doctor Uses these Same Pair of Glasses to Base my Prescription On ? What was she talking About ? Obviously she had no idea what she was talking about, apparently. So, obviously , it was just a con to get me to try to get me to spend more money there. It obviously did not work. The Batting went like this; 1. One, them being all Quiet, and Not Social or Friendly. !!! Strike One. 2. The lady insulting me about my Beloved Back up Pair that I got at a Trusted New England Medical Center Hospital and had been using for Several Years. Strike Two. 3. The Problem with going down the stairs. and then having to go through an exam without them matching it up with the Prescription that was on paper and Not the glasses. I had given them the Valid Paper Prescription. Which was on a Paper prescription form sheet. They got all confused about the form, and were also asking me questions that made it even more difficult for me. The only thing I can say that was pleasing to me was that she was gentle, in touching and handling around the eye area. I was tired from all the walking and parking and driving. But I felt that The exam did not go well. I wanted to keep the same RX that I had before, because I see better with it . And I have tested it driving. This means alot ot me, since I drive all the time. I also wanted to use just the same prescription with driving, biking and at home, and on the computer as well, because it is progressive. So I have a trusted prescription which I had been using for a long time. So, all in all, the exam did not go well. If it did, I would have had the same prescription, which would have been the one I had been using for many years, and have been used to using now. Also in that I am comfortable using. And what I wanted. And what I had mentioned on the Zoc Doc form. I ended up getting another one, which was not as strong. And It was Not the prescription that I had wanted or had needed. I had the rx with me and it was on paper. And they went off the glasses that I was wearing during the exam. Which were the ones that the lady said were of no use , or useless, which were her words. So I thought that that was really mean, and cruel, And I had to pay them on my insurance, and then get abused like that. It was a really big mistake on my part, for having gone in there and trusting them in the first place. So I blame myself for going in there. I probably won't ever end up going back there again. After all, going to the doctors is usually not going to be a very pleasant experience, and if you can just book a consult, then that is the easiest. I do not have the time to just drop in or drop by during my days. I feel that I am the type of person that would want or request to schedule a Consultation first. So that is what would be best for me. These are my special needs. And in the future, I plan to book just a General Eye Consultation to get some questions answered first at the next eye doctor visit. Just So that I don't end up getting abused , or insulted and / or also made to feel like a complete jerk, because I have questions and want some help with it. I am not sure why people are made to go through such ordeals as this. I personally can not believe that anyone would not have the decency to treat people like they are New, which I was, or a First Time Customer. And help them out.
