Dr. Barkan was very friendly and the office staff was courteous and very helpful.
Excellent- efficient and friendly
I've been looking for a general doc for a while, I want someone with personality (not a medical drone) and someone who I feels listens to me. Unfortunately Dr. Barkan had the personality, but didn't do a very good job listening. In addition to getting a yearly physical I had a question about pain in my wrist and about weight loss. I mentioned the pain in my wrist during our initial consultation in her office and she said she'd look at it during the exam. At the end of the exam she hadn't looked it at so I brought it up, she blew me off so I brought it up again, then, without touching it or looking at it she said, in a very dismissive manner, "keep wearing the wrap and take some Aleve." Well, I didn't feel that was an acceptable answer so I saw an orthopedist later in the week and it turns out I tore a muscle. I don't necessarily expect Dr. Barkan, as a general physician, to be able to diagnose a muscle tear, but to blow me off, not even look or touch it, or refer me to someone else is just unacceptable in my opinion. When I asked about weight loss she said we'd see what my thyroid results said (fine) but when she emailed my blood work results, with a normal thyroid level, she didn't even address the question. Maybe she's a good doctor for some people, but she seemed stressed and rushed with me and I'm thankful that I'm proactive in my healthcare and didn't listen to her advice about my wrist.
The doctor is very pleasant and down to earth.
She is courteous and seems nice, though a bit rushed. She is pleasant. I have only had one meeting with her so far.
Good listener and pay attention to my medical history. Recommend routine tests needed and give referrals to other doctors .
She was really great. Although she was slightly rushed (I was 20 min late) she still made the effort to be friendly and help me feel relaxed as I'm not a huge fan of going to the doctor's office.
She was fantastic. The wait to see her was around 10 minutes. I had to wait 45 to get my bloodwork done because their tech was really backed up.
I'm really glad I went to Dr. Barkan. She listened, asked questions and was genuinely interested in my wellbeing. She was also very easy to talk to and the staff was nice, too.
She was kind, and I didn't feel rushed at all. She asked a lot of questions about my current condition and my medical background. I would definitely go back to Dr. Barkan.
Dr. Barkan was very nice and had a great bedside manner. I felt very comfortable with her. I would 100% recommend her as a PCP.
Dr Barkan was friendly in a genuine way. I didn't feel rushed even though my appointment started late. Looking forward to seeing her again.
Dr. Barkan was fantastic! I would definitely recommend her to anyone!
I went on a Friday morning and the wait was much longer than I would have liked (probably around 45 minutes). That said, this is the only complaint I have. Rather than filling out a long form, Dr. Barkan sat down with me and asked me the questions herself, which made it easy for me to remember little things that had cropped up since my last physical and it was more personal and conversational. I can't remember the last time a doctor actually spoke to me for any extended period of time other than to say "next, I will do this..." The exam was quick and easy, but didn't feel rushed. She took my concerns seriously and answered all of my questions. I'm so happy to have finally found a doctor who makes me feel comfortable!
The Medical Group shares a waiting room so it was nearly full, but I had almost no wait time at all. The desk people were in a bad mood but I dont know if that is an isolated incident. Dr. Barkan sat down to talk to me in her office both before & after the exam, which I appreciated. I would definitely go back.
Quite possibly the finest physician I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Remarkable bedside manner, knowledgeable, patient and understanding, and literally, I waited less than 2 minutes after completing my paperwork. She was extremely patient with and even genuinely friendly with my precocious 18 month old son, and made me feel completely at ease right away! Top notch!
