Patient reviews for Dr. Marc Kaplan
So far, so good. He's very kind and patient, straightforward, non-judgmental and considerate. I hadn't seen the doctor prior to this first appointment but I already do feel very fortunate to be in his care.
I was very pleased to meet doctor Kaplan. I was very worried and he was very attentive. He knew how to keep things in perspective and make me feel confortable. I would recommend him without any hesitation.
Super friendly. Made me feel comfortable which is important to me.
Great doctor!! He is the most caring, patient and warm physician. A wonderful bedside manner. He helped me figure out what many other urologists couldn’t, by avoiding unnecessary tests and a keen knowledge that made the correct diagnosis. All doctors should be like Dr Kaplan. Highly recommend.
Dr. Kaplan was very quick at assessing my situation based on the inputs to his questions and my physical disposition. He decided that it was not stones... and recommended ultrasound to validate.
I feel he had good intentions in explaining my condition. However, In his attempt to be transparent and “honest” he left me feeling upset and even more stressed than before my appointment. There was zero compassion for a uriological condition that has physical manifestations. When I left the office I was in a state of despair and increased anxiety
I felt rushed, I was in and out for less than 10 minutes, just gave me some advise I could’ve gotten from google. I obviously have concerns and questions if I came all the way out here. He rescheduled me for a small procedure after I insisted the following week.
Helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you Dr. Kaplan!
doctor was courteous and knowledeable. took me in at my appointment time, diagnosed the problem, had my prescription called in right away and it was waitng for me at cvs when i got thewre 30 minutes later.
great personality!
Excellent visit! Staff at the front desk was very professional and Dr. Kaplan took his time, and explained everything in detail. Would highly recommend!
He didn't keep me waiting and was knowledgeable and a straight shooter!
Efficient and knowledgeable. Dr. Kaplan made me feel at ease and comfortable to discuss my issues.
Terrible! Dismissive! Don’t waste your time or money. He doesn’t care about you!
Great doctor!! I have sadly had to see many urologists over the years for what was supposed to be complicated problem. With far fewer unnecessary tests and more knowledge, Dr. Kaplan quickly solved my issue, quickly and easily - he's a very smart doctor. Also, most importantly, he is a really nice, friendly and patient guy. He has a great bedside manner and makes you feel very comfortable. It was very unusual to actually feel like a person and not just a number, which is common among doctors. I will be back if I have any urologic issues and I couldn't recommend Dr. Kaplan any higher or with more enthusiasm!
Avoid this urologist at all costs!!! Back on April 1st, I got tested at an urgent care clinic for lower-left back pain and blood in my urine (thankfully that was painless) for more than a week. The blood and urine tests were negative for infections and other diagnoses and so was the ultrasound. For almost another week, I had the same symptoms. So, I made a convenient appointment on Zocdoc with Dr. Kaplan. Less than a week later he saw me and decided that a cystoscopy was necessary. He also wanted to check my prostate right there in the office, but I declined. The next week, after that incredibly uncomfortable cystoscopy, the results were negative for any bladder and other urological problems. Knowing I still had blood in my urine and lower-left back pain, he said it’s probably nothing and actually equated my situation to having a NOSEBLEED. Oh and for two days I now had painful urination, which is typical after a cystoscopy. I was shocked he was dismissing it as being so innocuous as a nosebleed, so I asked him what other testing can be done? He was not being sympathetic to me still being concerned and his demeanor turned to a condescending manner. He said a CT scan could show something, but he advised against it, because he said the radiation used wasn’t worth the most-likely negative result of showing nothing was wrong with me. I still showed concern, and asked why I was concurrently still having back pain too and his demeanor remained condescending and he scolded me, saying I was worrying too much. He said to make a follow-up appointment for 4 months later, and if there was still blood in the urine, he would schedule the CT scan. Well, 3 days after the cystoscopy the blood was no longer visible in my urine, but the back pain persisted. About a month after that, the same painless blood in the urine reappeared (and the back pain was on and off, never going away fully for more than a day), so I gave Dr. Kaplan a call. I acknowledged that he said I should wait four months, but I didn’t want to wait another three months now just to take the next step. He still advised against me rushing to get the CT scan, but nonetheless wrote a prescription for one (with and without contrast) because I persisted. After the CT scan, he said it was kidney stones. Well, that told me all I need to know about the professional manner and advice of Dr. Marc “Nosebleed-Urine” Kaplan. Now I have an appointment to seek treatment from a recommended and more professional urologist (with a sympathetic bedside manner as well) at the Mt. Sinai hospital. So for any who have an appointment with Dr. Kaplan, seek another urologist!
I thought gut he was very professional. He is very easy to speak too. He is also very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr. Kaplan!!!
He kind of rushed me . Didn’t seem to care about getting to a root cause
Wonderful physician! He is knowledgeable and caring, very thorough and personable. I could not have been happier. I recommend him very highly!
The actual visit was fine until several months later when I received a bill from the doctor that were not rendered.
Knowledgeable, experienced, professional and warm. What else could you need? I've been a satisfied patient for many years. Highly recommended.
Great doctor. Friendly, explained everything.
On time Courteous Reassuring Effective Excellent
Outstanding physician. Extremely knowledgeable and listens to his patients in making a diagnosis and coming up with an appropriate treatment plan. Cannot say enough good things about, Dr. Kaplan.
He pays attention to the patient and to details. Excellent listener. Very humane.
Very knowledgeable and was clearly able to explain what I needed to know.
Once Again, Doctor Kaplan was very professional and reassuring. I couldn't recommend him enough. No bad surprises in the bill, just a honest diagnosis by a very knowledgable doctor.
Would recommend.
For my first time visit him, he was very professional and went straight to the point and the solution from the issue I presented to him, and I will be back and needed again.
Really good
Professional, fast and discrete. Thank you
Highly recommend!
Good. straight-forward quick and thorough.
Dr.kaplan is very professional and knowleable . And goes right to the point .
Dr Kaplan is great!! He has a wonderful bedside manner. He is friendly and warm and makes you feel very comfortable. He is a good listener, patient and caring. A very unusual doctor. I recommend him very highly!
Bedside manner needs a bit of fine tuning. He tends to talk over you and it can be difficult to get a question in edgewise. Also felt he was somewhat dismissive of my pain initially until, low and behold, a giant kidney stone was discovered on imaging. My lithotripsy procedure was very effective but not sure how much of that can be attributed to him.
Dr. Kaplan is very professional, takes his time answering questions and I would absolutely recommend him for any urology concerns.
Very professional. Excellent beside manner. He makes sure you understand symptoms and treatment alike.
Dr Kaplan is wonderful !! He is patient, caring, thorough and has a wonderful bedside manner. He is also very smart and figured out some long term problems that many other urologists could not. All doctors should be like Dr Kaplan. I very highly recommend him.
Found him to be quite irritable and almost angry when asked about potential treatment options. To top it al off the doctor was late showing up to the office. We all have bad days but there is a level of baseline professionalism that is expected especially when the patient is asking typical matter of fact routine questions about their health .
Very good and thorough exam and discussion. I was very pleased with him and his staff.
Marc was one of the most personable doctors I've ever met. I was a little bit early to the appointment, and he saw me even before my scheduled time. I highly recommended him.
Outstanding staff and Dr Kaplan was prompt, comforting and resourceful I think he’s an amazing doctor! With a stellar team! Thx to all at this practice
Dr. Marc was very nice and personable. I was very nervous going into the appointment but he answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable. The office space was a bit small so I had to stand for the 5 minutes that I waited to see him but the wait time was really short so I didn’t mind at all.
Dr. Kaplan was great! Dropping your drawers for strangers isn't usually fun in this context, and I felt comfortable with him. He put me at ease right away and talked me through my appt. Highly recommended!
Dr. Kaplan found right away what I had. He is competent, efficient and comprehensive. He took the time to explain me everything. I really recommend that doctor.
Always a great visit
This was my first visit with Dr. Kaplan. He was very easy to speak with, and very understanding. Office staff was great too. Wait time was 15 minutes!
Dr. Kaplan has been my urologist for many years. He is terrific!
Dr. Kaplan is outstandingly kind, trustworthy and professional. I felt very comfortable and will wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone. He is an outstanding doctor, of a kind that is truly hard to find.
