Its nice an clean an quick check in an out
Both the doctor and office staff were quick, pleasant, and professional - would highly recommend their services and I'll surely be back again.
Professional with good personal knowledge of my health history
I was early for my appointment but did not have to wait that long. Dr. Shepard is very professional . I would recommend him to others. He addressed all of my issues. Also, he has excellent staff. Ms. A is very professional and takes extremely good care of me. She is very personable.
As a new patient, I was very pleased with my first visit.
Answered all my questions and set up referrals as needed.
The admin, nursing staff were all very helpful and professional. I also appreciate that the offices and examination rooms are always clean and organized.
To the point and got what I needed.
I have been seeing Dr. Shepard for several years, and he is a fine doctor. I recommend him highly.
Excellent visit! Dr Shepard is very knowledgeable, understood my issues and had many good suggestions for addressing them.
I found Dr. Shepard very easy to talk to. He appeared engaging and very professional. He asked appropriate questions and demonstrated concern for my needs. As a new patient I left feeling my health needs are in good hands.
He's nice enough. Not very talkative about your past medical history. He seems competent and keeps up with research. If you want to get in and out with a quick diagnosis and not much fanfare, then he's the doctor for you. He answers all of your questions and quickly moves you along. His staff was nice and efficient in getting all of the required information.
Dr. Shepard is always great to visit. He is very thorough and gets you the information and tests you need without taking up time with unnecessary followups.
I have been with Dr. Shepard for ~25 years. I have found him thorough and competent. Sometimes he is a little too brief about test results, but overall he has been a reliable source of information and treatment.
Always professional, always looking out for my best interest even when it's not what I want to hear.
Dr. Shepard is great, he always offer great options for total healthcare. He is very informative and thorough in his examinations.
Dr. Shepard is a great doctor. He cares about his patients and isn't in a rush to move on to somebody else when he's seeing you.
They didn't measure my height but put it wrong in the system.
Dr. Shepard was very attentive and was willing to asnswer all of my queations. I was a bit nervous to try out a new doctor but he was great! Looking forward to another visit.
Excellent Doctor! I would recommend him to others. He has a great bedside manner. I arrived early for my appointment and waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. He listens to what you have to say and works with you to determine the best treatment plan that will work for you.
Very accommodating and professional. Nice doctor, beautiful new facility, competent staff.
Everybody since the front desk to the doctor were amazing. The medical assistant was very friendly. She is always happy and positive. Dr. Shepard is also very nice and concern about my health. He genuinely try to address my health issue the best and accurate way possible. I have a very energetic personality and that made the appointment more ease. Thank you.
Highly recommend this physician.
A good visit with much concern about the patients health. Very polite.
Very honest & open an overall a great person.
I like his positive attitude.
Dr. Shepard gas great listening skills and made sure i told him all about my medical worries. Great Dr. Would recomend.
I arrived earlier than my scheduled appointment but did not have to wait long. My visit with Dr. Shepard was excellent. He listened to my needs and discussed options accordingly. He has a great bedside manner!
Very sad to meet a doctor who starts off the professional relationship with antidepressants suggestions. Really? I am not depressed nor do I want to take them to treat my other issues. How about learn how actually treat and cure people at least initially without drugs, especially antidepressants that I don't really need???? Horrible start. I will never go back to a "doctor" like that.
The first visit great. The second a little off putting. But hey doctors are stressed just like the rest of us. 4 out of 5 stars.
He was very thorough, asked good questions, and explained my treatment options well. I'm usually nervous when visiting a doctor, but his manner put me at ease.
First visit went well, I liked Dr. Shepard and respected his thoroughness, medical advice and opinion.
Dr. Shepard was great. Went to him for an annual physical. Very friendly, took his time, and answered all my questions. Would recommend to others!
Dr. Shepard and his staff were wonderful to me. They took great care of me. Dr. Shepard spoke to me in very comprehensive manner. I didn't feel rush through like my previous doctor.
He is a solid physician, one who gives a patient confidence in his knowledge, abilities, and judgment. I look forward to having him become my internist.
Very easy going, knowledgeable and helpful
Very straight forward and up front. No sugar coating just straight facts. I liked that he gave it to me straight.
He is nice and professional!
Dr. Shepherd was really nice and very helpful.i would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a primary care physician in the local area.
Dr Shepard is compassionate, extremely knowledgeable, and a great listener. He is fantastic practioner who stays current and on top of the latest medical advancements. He is empathetic and an all around great physician.
Dr. Shepard was nice!
Great visit as usual. Dr. Shepard always listens and tells you what needs to be done and is happy to refer you elsewhere when necessary. He is in a new space and it's a great office and the staff are always friendly.
He is very personable and engaging. He answered all my 1000 questions. He is patient and very professional. Definitely recommend him
He is great about answering my questions.
He knew what he was doing. I am sure He is great doctor. Thanks.
Very straight forward and upfront but professional. I appreciate his candidness.
Excellent and caring Doctor with great bedside manners. He works with you. He listens to what is going on with you and proceeds accordingly with his medical advice.
It was okay. I needed an appointment with short notice and this was the only viable option at the time. Very typical in hospital type experience. Cold and business-like.
The doctor was very attentive and very nice. He asked several questions to learn about my overall health, and while I didn't have any questions he made sure I had the opportunity to ask.The office staff was quite efficient and helpful as well. I had a question about the cost of the pnemonia vaccine, and they had the answer in a couple minutes. I will be sticking with Dr Shepard as my primary care doctor going forward.
Everyone at the practice was great. I hadn't been to the doctor in a few years, and everyone was very comforting. Dr. Shepard has a great dry sense of humor that really helped smooth things over, and I'll definitely be going back.
Dr. Shepard is great! He was very helpful and asked a lot of questions that some might find too probing, but they were all relevant to getting a clear picture of my health and medical history. He was also quite funny and quickly sought to make a personal connection with some of my interests (college football) which is very helpful in developing a rapport with a new MD.
Great Doctor. Explained everything in details.
Excellent Doctor! He listened to what was medically going on with me and proceeded accordingly.
I'm sure Dr. Shepard is a completely adequate doctor, but that is not the experience I had. He decided to tell me that I could be a candidate for gastric sleeve surgery without asking even a single question about my diet or exercise habits. Had he done so, I would have told him that I exercise rigorously 5 times a week, am on a calorie-restricted and pre-planned diet, and that I had successfully lost 30 pounds in the last year. Several of his statements implied that a) I didn't know what calories were, b) I was a liar about how much weight I had lost in the last year, or c) that I would inevitably gain the weight back and would need a gastric bypass surgery. What was most galling was that he had never seen me before, and just jumped to conclusions about my entire lifestyle based on my weight. This should only be a single data point in making a diagnosis, and I felt very uncomfortable taking any medical advice from a doctor who didn't feel the need to ask any questions before coming to his conclusion. I'm glad that he was concerned about my weight - trust me, I am too! But I wish he had treated me with at least a basic modicum of respect. Perhaps there is a broader issue as to how the medical community as a whole discusses and treats people who are overweight. I happen to have a healthy level of self-esteem and Dr. Shepard's derogatory implications will not keep me from going to the doctor in the future. However, it concerns me that other people may not respond to his approach in the same way.
Always good, very happy with Dr. Shepard.
I was seeing Dr. Shepard for back pain. He diagnosed a spasm, sent me off with medications and good advice, as always. Many thanks! Jeff
Very pleasant, easy to talk to, professional
New patient visit was absolutely stunning. I was extremely impressed with the operation and professionalism of the office personnel and with Dr. Shepard. He listened and addressed all of my concerns and at the end of session he provided a very thorough medical plan of action and summary. Thank you very much Dr. Shepard!!!!!!!!!!
The doctor wasn't very warm and seemed to make statements about me that were drawn out of thin air. I'm not sure how or where he got that from. He was pretty abrupt and didn't take the time to really discuss any history with me.
I think he great
Dr. Shepard is a great doctor who has excellent bedside manners. He listens to what you have to say, examines you then forms a diagnoses or orders other testing if necessary. He is a caring Doctor and I would highly recommend him to others.
Remarkably short consultation, especially for a first visit.
Excellent physician who listed to my medical concerns.
I feel competency and pleasant manners
I wanted to have a full physical because I haven't had one in several years and recently had a pneumonia infection. I met with the doctor for about 15 minutes to explain my history, a physical was performed and a blood draw/lipid panel was administered. I was later able to view the results online and got a mailed letter explaining them. The appointment was quick and easy, and the whole office seemed very efficient - minimal wait time.
Dr. Shepard is very knowledgeable. He imparts medical information very well. I've used his services on several occasions over the last few years and will continue to use him in the future.
Took the time to discuss the issues and explain the treatment. He also provided free samples of non-generic medicine that is probably quite expensive at the pharmacy.
Dr Shepard is an excellent doctor with great bedside manner. He listens to what is going on with you and together you work towards a solution based on his medical opinion. If necessary, he refers you to other specialists. His office staff are very professional and make you feel welcomed. He has been my Doctor for years and I would recommend him to others.
For an annual physical, not very comprehensive. Physician did a lot of talking and not much listening. Will be looking for someone better.
The visit went well as usual. I like that he listens to what my concerns are but is also very honest when it comes to what can and should be done. He doesn't prescribe medicine just because. I'm glad he is my PCP.
Dr. Shepard was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. He is just what I was looking for in a primary care physician after my recent move to DC. His staff was also very friendly and efficient.
Dr. Shepard was very courteous and took the time to explain the pros and cons of different treatment options, as he always does.
I think Dr. Shepard is an excellent primary care physician. He was thorough, professional, and always trying to help. The staff is very good.
Spent very little time with me and took no time to understand the root of the issue or my medical history. Largely a waste of time.
I always have a positive visit with Dr Shepard. He is through in his examination and has a great bedside manner. I have been his patient for many years and would highly recommend him to others. His nursing staff including office staff are polite and very professional. I enjoy my interactions with them.
It was a very pleasant consult, I would have no hesitation recommending Dr Shepard.
I am very pleased and i will highly recommend to my family and friends.
Dr. Shepard is always helpful and pleasant and I never feel rushed. He is my primary care doctor and has made an effort to get to know me and check on things. For the first time as an adult, I feel like I have a "family" doctor.
He is great
Execellent doctor that takes the time to talk with you about your health concerns.
He insinuated that my proven blood diagnosis was in my head and suggested depression meds. No thanks, I won't be back.
THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN FEMALE MEDICAL ASSISTANT TREATED ME VERY BAD THE DOCTOR WAS OKAY .
Dr. Shepard has been a great primary care doctor.
Dr.Shepard is a good doctor straight to the point he just Dam good
I really felt comfortable with my recent visit to Dr. Shepard. He answered my questions. I would definitely recommend him. He was very helpful and friendly. The staff at MedStar was also very friendly.
This was the 2nd time I've gone to him. Total mistake. I plan on finding another doctor. He rushed through my physical and left a whole section on my form blank. I had to bring it to his attention and he signed them off without going over them. I feel like there are some unethical things goin' on with him. Also felt like he wanted to leave the office quickly. Not very friendly at all.
The staff was very nice, and Dr. Shepard was very helpful. I'm glad to have found him as my primary care physician.
He is the best and the staff is great.
Excellent internist and family doctor.
I'll be going to him from now on if need should arise while I am in DC.
Very good. Quick and easy
Very welcoming, informative, and professional.
Very good at explaining things and in answering questions.
Very positive. Dr. Shepard spends time with his patients, listens carefully; he has an excellent bedside manner.
Dr. Shepard is very friendly. Came in for an annual physical and was surprised at how quick and concise it was - in the past I have spent a lot more time speaking with my doctor and they have always done more physical examination. In comparison, Dr. Shepard (while very personable) didn't seem to be the most thorough - I was in and out in under 30 minutes (saw doctor for approximately 10 minutes). Overall I'm sure Dr. Shepard is very knowledgeable and capable but maybe I got him at the end of the day or when he was just tired and trying to get done. I will definitely give him another chance.
Dr. Shepherd was really great! After my second visit, I decided to have him as my PCP. The entire office was friendly, and he seems to genuinely care for his patients. The icing on the cake was when he personally called me to follow up with me and see how I was doing. I really felt valued, instead of him having his nurse or receptionist give me a call. I really appreciated that, and would recommend him!
Visit was fine. No issues. Dirty chair in the patient room. Should be cleaned.
Dr Shepard is very pleasant
Dr Shephard is a good doctor straight to the point will answer all your question
Dr. Shepard was extremely friendly and professional. I got my information from him from this visit then my previous doctor.
As is becoming custom, being called a half hour plus late from your scheduled appointment and then longer to see the doctor happened again. Hearing the high-school'esque gossiping and complaining from the front desk staff makes one wonder if this could be cause for the extended tardiness. However, once you get to see the doctor everything goes smoothly.
Very friendly staff - Ashley really put me at ease. Good visit - discussed my issue, agreed on a treatment plan, as was on my way quickly :)
I liked Doctor Shepard but have stopped going to his office because it is very badly managed. Waiting over an hour for a 9:30 appointment is wrong, and if they know how to call to confirm an appointment (which they do) they can call to tell you it's going to be late.
His bedside manner takes some getting used to. I wonder if zocdoc has accurate appt information - I have had to wait more than 30 minutes after my appt time every time I have used zocdoc. At the same time, physicians need to respect their patients time and not be so self important that they think only their time matters.
Dr. Shepard is a good listener, open communicator, and thoughtful. Would recommend him.
Making an appointment was so easy and within two minutes of checking in I was having my vitals checked by the nurse. The doctor was in within a couple of minutes after that. Super quick and helpful. He explained things well and gave reason to each suggestion he made. That gives patients a sense of empowerment over their treatment regimen. Knowing how and why things work the way they do can be quite helpful, and really interesting.
I find Dr Shepard to be a great Dr to deal with he give good advice he know how to deal with the problem you might be having if he cannot help he will refer you to some one who can help that what i call a good doctor
Pretty average for a doctor these days. Took some information, gave some suggestions, sent me on my way.
Excellent internist who also listens well.
Uneventful. The way you want it to be.
As always, the actual doctor's visit went well...it's getting to that point that is the hard part. The administrative staff is constantly bickering with eachother, and the rare times that they are not, they are not focused on helping the patients. I would give Dr. Shepard an A+, but the office staff an F.
I'm glad I went to see Dr. Shepard. He is very easy to communicate with. He was able to answer my questions.
Dr. Shepard really takes time to get to know about his patients and is very knowledgeable medically. He is also super helpful with random health questions and other concerns.
Dr. Shepard was great! The office staff was nice and personable.
Very laid back and nice. I would go back again.
Didn't listen to my concerns. Said my acid reflux was 'probably in my head'
As a new patient, I felt welcomed by the office staff and the Dr. and certainly not rushed in my appointment. I liked Dr. Shepard's style - straight shooter, but personable, too. The nurse called me right on time and did the usual intake - weight, BP, etc. But, in fairness I waited about 20 more minutes after she left before the Dr. arrived. I don't think that's unusual - I've waited longer for my hair dresser. Definitely satisfied with my first visit.
I love Dr. Shepard. He was straight to the point and funny. I like a doctor who is no-nonsense, but can show a little humor as well. I would recommend him to anyone I know!
Dr Shepard has been my PC for 22 years. Very knowledgable and effective treatment for just about everything!
I had a quick visit to focus on a specific issue, but I feel very good about that office visit. He took the time to talk through my options but didn't waste any of my time. He seemed very pleasant and efficient. I'm planning to use him for my primary care physician in the future. The office is easily accessible and I really liked Dr. Shepherd.
Great - candid, yet sensitive and thoughtful.
Very professional, personable and highly competent, he some how manages to have a good sense of humor. It is always a pleasure visiting Dr. Shepard. He is a pleasure to deal with and seems to have a genuine interest in the health and well being of his patients. I would highly recommend him!!
Dr Shepherd is a great Doctor and the staff efficient and helpful.
My very first visit with him in May of 2014 he recommended me for Baratric weightloss surgery. This was a PCP meeting to make him my primary care doctor. I asked him at the time if he was just selling the service, since I saw all the advertising for this on the metro and buses around. He stated no he actually believed in the procedure. My mother went through this years ago and would never recommend it to anyone. I told him, since I have migranes then I would want him to work with me through other means first. I did lose 30 pounds; however, i did gain it back due to an injury. Because of this and the rudeness of his staff when I went to schedule a new appointment this past week for a check up I have decided to fire this doctor. Not only his staff, but when the doctor did not call me with lab results two weeks ago which needed attention. I found out the results on my own. When I left a message for the doctor inquirying why he didn't call, he finally returned my call with a less than desirable beside manner, and downright rude. To the point of him saying, "If you want to be a patient of mine, then you need to get in the office and be seen by me, as I haven't seen you since May 2014." Excuse me, but I think I was scheduling my annual visit this is June 2015! The appointment with him was supposed to be today. I have as of yesterday fired this doctor, and moved on to another doctor. I will be visiting this other doctor later this afternoon.
Professional, very knowledgeable, patient and comfortable. From the beginning to/end See you next appt
It was efficient and professional. I look forward to my next physical.
Dr. Shepard was very personable and professional. I will continue to see him going forward.
Dr. Shepard was professional and competent. I appreciate his candor.
I always think Dr. Shepard is great at listening to my concerns and taking everything I say into consideration.
Dr. Shepard is a great doctor.
Very empathetic, thorough, great first impression, will continue to see him.
He's an experienced pro. The kind of doctor who makes you feel like he's seen it all.
He just sent me off to a specialist, and the on call physician was incredibly unhelpful and his secretary is horrendously rude.
great doctor! would use again.
Very professional and easy to communicate with. I think I found my new Primary Physician
I booked my appointment and received a confirmation from ZocDoc, but the front office staff acted as if I didn't have a firm appointment time. The doctor was also running behind today, so I waited for almost an hour to see him; I understand that this happens from time to time and this was the first time out of several visits that I've experienced this. I'm still happy with the doctor and his staff and will return.
To day was my 1st time visiting the office. I felt very comfortable talking with the doctor.
I've been seeing Dr. Shepard for more than a year and am glad that he was recommended to me from another patient/friend. He is thorough and comprehensive, and he seems to genuinely care and want to address any issues that I'm having. He is direct and to the point, which may come off as brusque to others but I really appreciate that in a physician. I plan to continue seeing him and would recommend him to others. The staff and nurses are also friendly and competent.
Made me feel extremely uncomfortable and lectured me because I asked for an HIV test. Told me I should ideally have one sexual partner and then told me I should just donate blood if I am worried about my status because that is "killing two birds with one stone." He did not even ask me ANYTHING about myself.
Dr. Shepard is a great primary physician.
Pretty good in and out, but I knew exactly wanted: a prescription. He intended to prescribe two medications, and actually provided notes on the prescription for two medications, but only filled out the prescription for one. Not a big deal given I didn't really need it.... but it could have been.
Great doctor. Nice to talk to. Good listener who wants to help you.
overall: very positive
Love Dr. Sheparh---professional, caring, informed and compentent.
He was extremely professional and honest. He was willing to really listen to me and wasn't dismissive even though he was vocal that he didn
He listened and did not make me feel rushed. He satisfidied my concerns and provided name of specialist in case of repeat issues on prior problem.
Dr. Shepard is the nices most informed doctor. He listened to me and was very responsive to my needs and questions. I would highly recommend him.
Ive not had many physicans, with a bedside manner like Dr. Shepard. I felt as though I was intruding upon his time, when he himself was 20 minutes late for our booked appointment.
Always a pleasure visiting Dr. Shepherd!
Dr. Shepard was helpful and considerate as always!
I'd recommend Dr. Shepard for anyone seeking a physician. He and his staff are courteous and prompt. I've been a patient for a few years now and I've always been pleased with his skill and competency in addressing any health issues I have.
Excellent bedside manner. I appreciate Dr Shepard's quick humor and logical way of explaining things that are a bit difficult to digest as a patient. I was taken right away today. I must say that the office seems to be run very well, from the patient's perspective.
All in all am fairly happy with Dr. Shepard, but the guy does seem a little aloof/disinterested (judging from 2-3 appts I've had with him). Just got the feeling he wasn't really listening to me and the appointment felt a little rushed. Also, tried calling 4 or 5 times during business hours to make an appointment and never reached an actual person. Left a message every time and no one every got back to me. Only way I was able to make an appointment was with ZooDoc (was going to switch doctors before I found ZooDoc on a google search and realized that I could use it for appt booking). ...All that being said, I'll probably still go back to him.
pretty good - the office feels a little outdated (paintings from 1980s on walls) and the lab area felt a bit messy. plus for the first time I bruised after getting blood drawn
I really liked Dr. Shepard -- I usually prefer female doctors, but this office location is very convenient and it was easy to schedule an appointment. The entire appointment took about an hour -- 20 minutes in the waiting room filling out paperwork, about 10 minutes getting bloodwork done, and then 30 minutes spent in a room. He asked a lot of questions -- which I appreciated, it seemed like he wanted to make sure his diagnosis was accurate -- and was very thorough in explaining my health problem and why taking certain actions would help with it. He also suggested noninvasive and OTC ways to deal with it first, explaining there was expensive medication but probably not necessary, so I appreciated not being pushed into that. I'd definitely go back in the future.
Dr shepherd is great!!!!
I've been his patient for many years. He is informative, helpful, has a wry sense of humor that I appreciate. And most important, he listens and asks questions, and give sound and thoughtful advice.
Very friendly and eager to work with patients to arrive at a good health outcome. I recommend him without reservation.
I've been seeing Dr. Shepard for several years now. He is professional and as he should, very clearly cares about my health much more than doling out prescriptions.
Shepard was the stereo typical profile of a doctor. He dismissed my symptoms and history, went on to diagnose the cause of my illness (which I don't have), and gave me a lecture about it. As first hand experience trumps first hand observation, I didn't take his advice. I don't recommend this doctor.
Dr shepherd was amazing!!!! Best doctor I have ever seen! I will always use him as my doctor
I was in and out of the door within 30 minutes! Thanks!
I was impressed by the entire experience.
I really like Dr. Shepard. He is straight forward, knowledgeable, and genuinely takes time during his consultation. My background is in healthcare administration and practice management so I am overly critical than most. During my last visit, I had a consultation, Rx refill, and lab work done all in 26 minutes (including waiting times)! Dr. Shepard's office provided my lab results to me within a week and had the necessary Rx's sent to my pharmacy electronically. Cant beat the service.
Dr. Shepard is a concerned and caring physician we have been seeing him for many years and he has always been correct with his diagnosis. The only problem is the office staff; not so friendly and some messages have not been delivered.
He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
After the long wait, Dr. Shepard was very attentive and helpful. No complaints considering I was a new client who made my appointment the same day!
Provided a number of good solutions, but spent most of the time typing at the computer instead of paying attention to me.
Very attentive and understood my condition and needs. Happy with my choice of doctor.
Excellent visit--really liked the way he spent time discussing the issues with me, unlike other doctors who just try to rush you out the door.
Probably not going back. I did book his last appointment of the day, and he did see me after his office was technically closed, but my wait was almost an hour if not more than an hour. When I did see him it was very rushed, and he didn't really take the time to talk to me about my problem. It was more so a rush treatment and exit. I also could have been more pressing about it, but maybe my expectations were just too high.
Great, very nice guy, and very thorough.
Very helpful, quick, and most importantly fixed my ailment.
He was a great doctor, very experienced and right away introduced me to a medication that allowed me to take one pill as opposed to two which I had done in the past. It meant so much to me to be able to just remember to take one pill. Very professional and well spoken. I have been moving from doctor to doctor because I was lacking an experienced doctor. This one is a keeper.
Very efficient and easy going. Was clear and thorough.
Dr. Shepard was efficient yet thorough. He addressed all my questions and explained his diagnosis. He takes notes at the computer while you are describing your symptoms. I can see how some patients might consider that less personable, but when I glanced at his notes all the relevant information was there. I also liked that he printed out a summary of my visit for me, including the diagnosis, what medication to take, and when to call him. All in all, I thought he was to-the-point and knowledgeable. Also, booking the appointment through ZocDoc was extremely convenient. Scheduling doctors' appointments is usually such a hassle.
Everyone on staff was very pleasant and helpful
He is a funny straightforward doctor who will not coddle you buy tell you like it is.
He is friendly and will answer ur questions went ask
My neighbor was very pleased with the doctor's visit, he thought the doctor was thorough and he is defenitely going back to see Dr. Shepard for future physicals exams.
Really great bedside manner and wonderful personality.
I am not somebody who runs to a doctor for the most minor pain, and I also know my body. I prepare my own food, eat healthy and exercise. So, when I realized some stomach disorder for quite some time, I got suspicious and scheduled an appt. I felt rushed, and even though I was there with a very specific condition, I was not really examined the way I would have preferred it. I know good doctors and also respect and understand the complexity of this hard profession, but I had the strong feeling that the right questions were not being asked. There was more concern about paper work, and typing those statements and the diagnosis up as soon as possible. He barely looked at me. Poor patient-doctor dialogue, in my opinion. What really upsets me with many doctors in DC is that you spend all the time completing the paper work, and remembering previous conditions, treatments, and prescriptions - just to figure out that doctors barely look at it: I had clearly indicated that I had been taking some herbal supplements for my skin, which I was not asked about. They turned out to be the exact reason for my disorder, which I had to figure out myself soon after my visit.
I've been seeing Dr. Shepard for a few years, and on the whole he's a good doctor - I could use a little more patience with visits that are non-routine.
Dr Shepard was very attentive to my concerns and questions. I would recommend him highly.
Not bad by DC standards
He was very indifferent and not very informative. He didn't ask me many questions about my condition and quoted how many years he had been practicing, suggesting I should just stop talking. Nothing was resolved and I will continue to search for a solution for my condition.
Great doctor, very long wait.
Dr. Shephard is great. He is personable, attentive and very knowledgeable. Overall, awesome doctor.
Dr. Shepard listened to me patiently, asked tons of questions, and when he told he his thoughts, he made sure I asked all the questions I needed answered. He even gave me his email address and asked me to reach out to him if I had any questions. It was an absolute pleasure!
He diagnosed the problem, gave alternatives, and provided prescription, with followup for results of blood test via phone.
Very knowledgeable and spent adequate time helping me understand and diagnose my condition.
One of the shortest office waits I've had in a long time. And Dr. Shepard was very professional/helpful.
Was very grateful I was able to be seen with such short notice. I've only been in the area a short time, and didn't have a doctor in the area...
Quick, painless - a great find.
Dr. Shepard was friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable.
very nice, quick and efficient!
Dr.shepard was excellent! As a new patient, and new resident, it can be hard to find the appropriate physician on short notice. He was extremely articulate so that I understood everything and could come to him with any concerns might have had about prescriptions. Highly recommend in my opinion!
Dr. Shephard is a very rude and inconsiderate doctor. His bedside manner is atrocious. They reported taking a temperature on me and one was not done. Very unsafe clinic. Very unprofessional conduct.
Probably I will not recommend anyone to have him as primary care physician.
The staff was very friendly I felt very welcome
Staff were very nice and efficient, and the doctor was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable.
It was definitely good. Efficient and quick. Dr. Shepard was kind and took the time to explain the situation.
The visit was great. I needed a primary care doctor in the area, and honestly he is the best I have seen. The staff are all very nice.
He's a great guy who takes the time to answer all questions and does not rush. Will definitely continue to see him.
I liked his bedside manner and how he explained things but I wished he would have taken a little more time to go through my history
I really enjoyed Dr. Shephard and his office staff. Everyone was very pleasant and professional....even though it was the day before Thanksgiving. Dr. Shepherd was very throrough and did not rush during the visit. Just know that the office only accepts cash for co pays!
Was hopeful after having no luck with DC doctors. Though I had to wait a while, it was worth it. Dr. Shepard was extremely friendly and straightforward, took his time with me, and apologized for the wait. His staff were friendly and helpful. So glad I found him!
This guy was such a jerk, he acted like he had just gotten in a fight with his wife or something, real edgy, and very unfriendly. DO NOT go see him.
After having great difficulty getting into see a primary care doctor after GWU ER visit, I found Dr. Shepard through ZocDoc. He is an excellent physician who was thorough, caring and had an exceptional bedside manner-- hard to find such a great Dr today. I highly recommend Dr. Shepard! In addition, his office was very efficient and I was seen within 5 minutes.
I think of Dr. Shepard as one of those last remaining good doctors before they broke the mold and made every intern into a PDA-carrying over-prescribing moron. He thoroughly listens, repeats, understands, and then comes up with novel suggestions on how to at least start to "cure what ails ya" -- and if it doesn't work, he always encourages you to come back so that he can modify the dosage or medication. He is open minded/friendly/and all around good doctor.
Great doctor! I will be making him my primary care physician.
Wonderful doctor. Got and in and out very fast!
Dr. Shepard was really great, he took the time to listen to me and ask about the history of the issue I was there for, and I didn't feel like he was checking the clock or thinking about another patient.
First impression is that Doc Shepard is a good guy. Enjoyed mtg him for a very short visit. Went in for an eye infection. He diagnosed and provided medication. Everything I could have asked for. This was a first visit but so far, so good. Don't let the poor bedside manner of his office staff scare you away. No complaints.
Very nice guy. Seemed very forgetful; didn't write down instructions that he said he would and forgot to mark a certain lab test he said I needed performed.
Dr Shepard was very thorough and had a great bedside manner.
So helpful! Much appreciated how quickly I was in, out, and off to the pharmacy.
I felt comfortable and really liked this doctor and his input.
Easy to get hold of, professional and took his time. I got all the help I needed.
it was a pleasant visit.
