The wait was about one hour before I was seen by the technicians for a few tests. There are many rooms in there and I was moved a couple of times before I finally got to see Dr Werner. He didn't spend too much time with me before he moved again to another patient leaving me in the room by myself. Then he would come back again two more times to do some quick checking me up again. I am not completely satisfied with the diagnosis as he didn't seem to pay attention on the things I told him .He didn't say much about the diagnosis. It seems like my problem to him is a small one but I am still experiencing some issues with my vision. No treatment was mentioned either. I know he has a lot of patients but wish that he would also care enough to listen because when I tried to talk to him, he was in a hurry to leave before I could even finish telling my symptoms. I think no matter how expert a doctor is , he should be compassionate towards his client.
Dr Werner spent literally a minute with me and I had to inquire him on the way out after he said that "everything is normal" just to understand whether it's true or not and what are the boundaries/limits of this "normality" (btw I do not have a perfect vision so by itself my understanding of "normality" can be different). I wouldn't recommend him - it's more like a conveyor line than a real doctor's visit.
Dr. Werner was very professional, down to earth and kind. My visit was informative; I learned a few new things about my eyes, picked out a new pair of glasses and have my return visit scheduled in a few months.
Was good - very quick/helpful with questions
it's REALLY hard to find a good doctor in NYC--Dr. Werner is the first doctor in NYC that I would 100% recommend for a number of reasons. Everyone in the office was superb. Win!
Quick and painless. Sense of humor.
Great Doctor. Usually don't have to wait so long but this past visit there was a long wait.
Dr.Werner was great! He took the time to answer all my questions and gave me a great exam. Also the staff was fantastic. I would recommend this place to everyone!!!
staff and doctor are excellent
So I booked an appointment for my 3yr old because it says that they take children on the site, but they actually don't see 3yr olds. So we got evaluated but my daughter still has to be seen by a pediatric ophthalmologist. So, extra copayment for me. While everyone was really nice, it still would have been nice not to have to waste time and money.
His staff needs more training. They do not know how to talk to people. They are not knowledgeable on insurance companies and how they work, at the front desk. The staff was very patient and helpful in finding the right pair of glasses. Going thru billing issues, even after I doubled checked to make sure I paid for eye exam before I left.
The wait was a bit long this time and I felt like I was being shuffled around a lot. I wish I was able to stay in one room and had been visited by all the medical professionals in one place.
Dr. Werner and staff are amazing. He did my Lasik 15 years ago and now I take my children o the practice. Couldn't be happier.
I was so impressed with Dr Werner and his team! I have a much better understanding of my eyes and care! I highly recomend him and his entire office! THANK YOU!
Very informative and helpful and efficient.
Thorough and helpful.
great doctors and great help.
Everone I interacted with was as nice & professional as can be. Dr. Werner explained everything he was going to do and I enjoyed my visit. I would highly rate my experience today!
Office seems large, there are a few doctors. An assistant is doing the basic eye exam, then Doctor Werner will see you for the actual eye exam. Examination is ok, with dilated pupils you are asked to settle the bill and look and possible frames with lenses in the in-house optical store/corner. Which makes it more guessing as you can't see well with dilated pupils. Am not sure if all eye doctors have that procedure, as it was my first experience with an eye doctor... But I thought it was uncomfortable and awkward.
Not a big fan. I felt like he was trying to sell me things.
Dr. Werner was very professional, cordial and confident in his approach, leaving you relaxed and comfortable with his evaluation, findings and treatment.
Everyone in Dr. Werner's office was very friendly, a huge plus in my book. I felt as though I was treated with excellent care and consideration. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was the game of musical chairs they seem to play when you are actually seen by a doctor. I was told to switch rooms six times to perform a different test/examination in each one, which was a bit cumbersome. Perhaps there's an easier way?
Dr. Werner was very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. I felt very comfortable with him & would definitely recommend him. It was an overall good experience!
Since moving to New York a couple of months ago, I have been exceptionally pleased with the health professionals that I have seen. My visit with Marc Werner, however, is an exception. Dr. Werner was too sharp and direct when he asked questions and seemed impatient at times (perhaps this is understandable considering the fact that he was seeing about five patients at the same time). I greatly appreciate when medical professionals take the time to briefly inform me how and why the tests they perform might rule out certain diagnoses. I was disappointed that Dr. Werner barely did this. I was also a bit put off and was initially confused by the fact that, when examining my eyes, Dr. Werner used nonverbal cues (like pointing brusquely at the ceiling as an indication that I should look up) instead of simply asking me to move my eyes in particular directions. At the end of my appointment I was asked to schedule a follow-up in six weeks without being told why I needed a follow up (I see no reason to have one). I will most likely not be returning to this office.
Dr. Werner is really great - I have been coming to him for years. He trained at Hopkins, and Wilmer is really one of the top institutions in the world. He always gives an honest answer about what he's looking for when he does an exam, and he has great bedside manner. I think he makes his patients feel comfortable being there and even though it's just chit chat, it's fun to talk to him. He does talk about lasik a lot...every year I come, he asks me to consider getting lasik. Gallo (is that how you spell it?), who always does my exam for contacts, is also amazing. He is really helpful and straightforward with payments, as well, explaining what is covered by insurance and what is not. He also helps you figure out what you need (new glasses or more contacts) and which deal is better based on where you are in your insurance cycle (e.g. if glasses are only covered every two years but contacts are every year).
Thorough; highly professional; attentive; Appointment with ZocDoc was quick, easy and I highly recommend ZocDoc and Dr. Werner.
For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was in good hands for my eye care. I had a procedure for removal of a chelation and I was in and out in no time and healed very well. The follow up was quick but thorough and very professional. I will go back to him.
The entire appointment took just under three hours!!!
Dr. Werner was very nice, however I waited 1 hour to even be seen and then I was shuffled in and out of rooms while about 6 other patients came and went. I was not pleased about that, the office did not call to say he was running an hour behind either. It felt like a carosel once I was in the back people moving in and out of different rooms. Lots of chaos.
Everything went well with the doctor, but there was a misunderstanding with the office and zocdoc appointment details. You can use either medical or vision insurance for these check-ups. I thought I had specifically checked off that i wanted to use my vision insurance when I made the appointment through zocdoc because it would have been a free visit. Apparently either I didn't actually do it, didn't have the option to switch it, or the office messed it up, but I got billed for my visit and the office wouldn't let me change it. The doctors were great, but the woman at the front desk seemed to not care about anything and spent most of the time on her cellphone chatting. She was being very forceful with my having to pay the bill and not even trying to check to see if the insurance could be switched. How rude!
Expert & attentive medical care! He corrected an incorrect Rx strength for both my old glasses & contact lenses.
Really professional service. Felt like my eye health was being adressed. Would recommend, plan to return.
Very happy with my visit and Dr. Werner! Everyone was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I waited about 10 minutes for the appointment, and the office seemed very busy. I will be coming back!
Very efficient and professional
He did a good job
Extremely professional, very well versed, one of the best Opts. I have seen.
Very nice to talk too. Made me feel relaxed.
Dr. Werner and his staff were very thorough and the doctor was very personable!
Great environment. The staff was friendly and apologetic for the long wait. My 5 year old snow as very comfortable.
Very nice. The receptionist wasn't accommodating as I stood at the counter for five minutes without her acknowledging me at all. Everyone else was very nice and they tried to be quick to get me in and out. I really enjoyed their glasses section where they had people who helped pick out glasses that would work for you. I would recommend them to a friend!
Excellent Doctor, excellent receptionist, administrative and support staff! Very thorough testing and examination with Excellent equipment!
He was great- very professional and efficient!
too rushed, office staff was good
Only went for an annual check up - all quite standard, which was performed accordingly. The 'nurse' or assistant who was calling me from the waiting area and conducting the first tests was doing her routine without any fuss, would be nice to have a more welcoming, friendly approach here. Really nice was the staff at the front desk, who kindly filled in an eye test report for my driving license, even though I only asked last minute - thanks for the extra service!
Professional, yet warm! Explained every aspect of my surgery, and answered all of my questions. I never felt rushed, he and his staff treated me like I was their only patient!
I went to Dr. Werner late last year for a puntal plug. It was very successful. I went back in February to get a replacement. This time it fell out of my eye as soon as I got home. I went back the next day but had to see a colleague bc Dr. Werner was in a different office. His colleague could not find the proper plug to use. I went back a third time to see Dr. Werner, he put a plug in and assured me "this one isn't going anywhere". In a couple of hours the plug was sticking out of my tear duct and irritating my eye terribly. I called the office and asked the doctor "What now? What's our plan B?" He answered "There is no Plan B, we've tried everything." Today I went to a new doctor, had a punctual plug put in, and everything is perfect. Do you want to go to a doctor with no Plan B?
I like the booking online aspect as well as two office locations but the fact that I was in and out of the office in 25 minutes really makes my day! Doctor was pleasant and helpful. Nurse was ok.
From the cheerful greeting the moment I walked through the door to the consultation with Dr. Werner, which was professional, courteous and unrushed, my experience was very positive. I most appreciated that Dr. Werner took time to provide a detailed description of a condition that I have, whereas previous doctors were vague and sketchy.
Wait times are long.. other than that all is well!!!!
My visit was excellent . The entire staff was friendly & helpful
Great appointment! All of the staff were knowledgeable, and seemed to be very organized in dealing with many patients at the same time. Definitely going back!
This was my first visit to the Stahl Eyecare office and I left very satisfied with my visit. Dr. Werner and his staff were very professional and polite. The office was surprisingly busy, even at 6PM and the appointment took longer than expected as a result, but I still highly recommend Dr. Werner.
Very good! I will definitely see him again and would recommend.
I have an unusual and very strong prescription, so I had low expectations, but the doctor got my prescription right the first time. He was also happy to explain why I needed the particular lenses I do and why my prescription had changed. I actually came back a second time for a contact lens prescription.
Dr werner was friendly and asked all my question. I will definitely go back and yes i finally have glasses
Great doctors here! I have been wearing contacts since I was 8 years old, and am now 27. They did a very thorough job and were happy to answer all of my questions. I had a bad experience with another opthamolagist in Manhattan last year, so I made sure to visit somewhere with good reviews. Was glad I went.
I made an appointment for a contact lens checkup only to be told that the contact lens specialist wasn't in (he was at a conference in Las Vegas). Why allow people make a lens appointment when the specialist isn't even there? Waited for close to an hour, then waited some more. all told about 90 minutes of waiting for about 10 minutes with the doctor
The doctor was attentive, informative, and efficient.
The office was conveniently located. The staff was courteous, friendly and professional. In addition to Dr. Werner, I was seen by three other professionals. They were all welcoming and did a great job helping me feel comfortable. I had a very good experience at this office and feel confident recommending them to others. There was a small scheduling mix up between ZocDoc and Dr. Werner's office, resulting in a longer than normal wait time.
Dr Werner is great !
Overall the visit was delightful. The supporting staff was polite and knowledgable. There was a mixup with my actual appointment time, however (the office had me down for 11:15am when I clearly was booked for 1:00pm) . Not sure if this was a mistake on their end or ZocDoc error. Since my visit went well I won't count this against anyone. I would definitely go back to Dr. Werner's office.
Amazing staff, great office. Saw me immediately, were professional and personable. They didn't try to unnecessarily sell me anything, their offices are up-to-date on technology and they were able to answer all my questions. HIGHLY recommend!
He was an excellent choice. I was lucky to find him.
Very professional. Friendly. Highly recommended. The place looks great, too.
I was very happy with my visit. I have some hope towards better vision in the future, which is a prospect I haven't had for the past few years.
Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Surpassed my expectations and the short wait time was refreshing compared to other experiences around the city.
It was interesting that they had several doctors with different specialties. When I was waiting for my eyes to be dilated they had me look at glasses, which seemed like a sales pitch. Overall when I saw the doctor(s) it was a quick and painless experience.
Overall it was good except for the wait time but the staff was professional and friendly, as well as helpful.
The doctor was good but I was in the office a total of 2 1/2 hrs. Was not very happy about the amount of time I was there.
