Dr. Marsha Snyder, MD
Dr. Snyder is Board Certified in Adult and Geriatric psychiatry, with over 30 years’ experience treating depression and anxiety, providing organizational leadership, working to improve the quality of the modern medical experience, and seeking advanced treatments for her patients. After witnessing the toll a long-term illness took on a family member, Dr. Snyder was called to a career in medicine. She became a nurse, and later earned a medical degree so that she could manage her patients’ treatment and affect systemic improvements in care. Dr. Snyder’s later earned a Master’s in positive psychology and applied it to the field of medicine, to not only help cure diseases, but to identify and strengthen assets that help people lead longer, healthier, and happier lives. Dr. Snyder has chaired the psychiatric department of an academic hospital and created programs that foster the well-being of patients, doctors, and medical students. She has also taught and advised residents, as well as authored textbooks on positive health. Dr. Snyder believes that medicine is not an act to perform on an ill patient, medicine IS the patient. She brings her empathy, nursing skills, and extensive knowledge to bear on her work with each person seeking care. She partners with her patients to build trust and understand their particular circumstances and symptoms, so she can develop a deep appreciation of their state. She introduces therapies that reduce or eliminate their symptoms and promote character strength and resilience skills that help her patients flourish.
