Patient reviews for Dr. Martin A. Malz
He was dismissive and condescending when I described my symptoms of mold toxicity. When I become mold toxic, I get terrible insomnia and my sleep meds stop working. Rather than test for mold, he prescribed Lunesta for sleep which has side effects that only would exacerbate the symptoms of mold poisoning. After a lot of convincing, he prescribed me with my anti-anxiety medication and referred me to an infectious disease doctor who was a complete waste of time and did literally nothing. It’s shameful how little doctors know about mold in the medical Industry.
Up to Task! Dr. Malz is a wonderful person as far as his work concerns. My patient experience with him has always been great.
The Dr. was upbeat , asked questions , was honest with what he found and how we were going to move forward. Everything I want to see from a Dr.
It was good.
Dr. Malz MD is one of the best doctors I have encountered. I would like to continue to visit him for my medical needs. He genuinely cares for you and has a sense of humor! I would recommend him to others.
They are awesome here I have a great experience all my visit
Old school - but are tried and true tips for healthy living. It’s amazing what a small change in habit would do to help with cultivating a healthy body. Dr. Malz clearly has the orientation on focusing on daily habits or root causes for a condition rather than simply only prescribing a pill to solve the symptom. However with that said - it appears the scheduling leaves much to be desired. Although they want to make sure everyone is seen, as a result, very few people are turned away for being late or showing up without an appointment. If you’re willing to wait, you will be seen. If you are willing to speak up and calmly communicate your limited availability for the day of your schedule, and if the front desk lady is willing to accommodate your needs by essentially allowing you to cut in front of other patients, then you will be seen. I was about to walk away because there were two people ahead of me after waiting for 30min past my appointment time, only by voicing my desire for a refund and to reschedule did the front desk made the adjustment. It does go to show they will do their best to accommodate your schedule but if you do not speak up they will let the queue determine who gets to see the doctor next. Also - they will only take cash, so make sure you have enough ready if you know the visit will be costly.
My doctors visit today was a blessing. I recently was discharged from the hospital and was able to schedule an appointment right away with my primary doctor Dr. Malz. He went over my recovery plan, current prescriptions and went into detail on how to improve every day moving forward. I was very pleased with my office visit today.
The office did not have my Zocdoc appointment and they didn’t know i was coming. Luckily they were able to fit me in. This is the 2nd time this has happened with zocdoc. The office also only accepts cash payments which is kind of annoying. Had to go down the street to an ATM. But Dr. Malz was great.
The front desk woman’s as rude and sarcastic. They are very unprofessional. It is a very poor looking low class office.
First visit to this doctor. He was in a rush to leave early. He changed my appointment to an earlier time and then didn't see me right away. Came in to do a check up and have him look at my knee. Said he can only do one thing at a time. Had him look at me knee as it is so painful. Sent me for an xray and told me that he will contact me a week later with the results. It has been three weeks with no contact back called a couple of times. Either no one answers or he has left early. Does not take a patients pain seriously. Do not waste your time with this doctor. He does not seem to care about his patients.
When I finally saw the doctor, he acted like he didn’t believe me that I had a fever the day before. I had filled out my medical history here on ZocDoc ahead of time yet no one looked at it so I had to redo all the paperwork. His solution for my sickness was to go take cough syrup and eat chicken soup. All that didn’t even bother me as much as how I was treated by his staff. They refused to give me a doctor’s note for a work meeting I missed while I was at my appointment. I was told “use your copay receipt”. My receipt didn’t even have the time of my appointment on it. Then, recently, I get a call from their office saying I own them money because my deductible wasn’t met. Why they didn’t know this when they checked my insurance is beyond me. I fully agreed to pay it if they would send me a bill. The office manager refused to send me an invoice of any kind and continued to raise her voice and berate me like I was a child despite the fact I was happily willing to pay. So unprofessional. Please don’t waste your time visiting such a negative, unprofessional environment.
A good place by all standards.Never regretted ever having this place as my primary care.
Rude staff and dirty office - ONLY accepts cash?!? Nothing is posted anywhere. I was told to get in my car and go find an ATM machine to pay the small copay. Something definitely shady with this office CAS ONLY?
He ask good questions and was very thorough.
Dr Malz is super great!!!
VERY long wait time, and they seem to be understaffed. They did not have my patient information prepared or ready.
It was a smooth process and great experience meeting with Dr. Martin Malz. Quick and easy.
Very welcoming front desk staff person. Dr. Malz was professional and courteous as well the other office employee.
Very long wait to be seen.
I should have called in advance to confirm insurance info and billing etc. The billing person talks loudly, from the back you can hear her talking about patients and while on phone. Front desk was on phone and repeats patients full telephone number out in front of other patients..
The waiting room smells musty and is in need of air freshener. The lady in front of me wrote a check and when it was my turn to pay I was told that it's "CASH ONLY". I wouldn't mind this policy if there was some signs posted or if it was mentioned when the receptionist called me. I was an inconvenience for me to drive around trying to find an ATM machine. The doctor was very polite however his practices are very outdated. I have high cholesterol and was told to not eat cheese at all. Not even lowfat. No eggs and if what I'm eating tastes good then I shouldn't be eating it. This is not helpful. He also pointed out a height/weight chart and told me I should be over 100lbs less that I weigh. I know I'm overweight and I would like to lose some but 100lbs is ridiculous!!
I am new to the practice. I am switching primary care physicians. The office staff was really friendly and courteous when I arrived. Dr. Melz was knowledgable and was thorough.
Very professional doctor and staff.
Thorough diagnostician good bedside manner kind friendly staff
Very pleased. Initially, had concern with using ZocDoc. But glad that I did! Dr. Malz is very thorough and readily addressed my concerns and needs.
There probably should be a less than 15 minutes option here. Doc was professional and thorough. Listened to my issues and gave me honest helpful care. One problem though and it's not the doctors fault. He is still following that stupid bmi that all doctors do. If I got down to that "ideal" weight I'd either have to lose 25 pounds of muscle or be 2% body fat. I don't care what any doctor tells me. They need to update that. All humans are not the same. Some are much more muscular.....like me :)
The visit was great, he is my PCP
Great doctor, great staff!
Very nice and thorough.
I really like Dr. Malz, I'm his patient almost 7 years, he is high professional, always paying attention about all you problems
Friendly and comfortable.
FRIENDLY, FAIRLY TYPICAL.
It was my second visit and the doctor was prompt and to the point. He is a advocate for stopping smoking and weight loss. Will stay on you if you don't follow the game plan layed out for your health. Easy to talk with if you plan to visit the office.
I like dr malz but was way overbooked and actually left before being seen.
The doctor was very professional and caring. Dr. Malz listened and did everything he could to address issues and help with the problem. My only complant would be the hour+ wait time in the waiting room each time I have been so far (twice).
The services was good after I got back to the waiting room.
Very necessary
The doctor was nice the clinic staff was very rude and very unprofessional. They need to get polite and professional staff. I will not recommend this location to any of my family or friend just because of the very very rude behavior of the staff. If the doctor wants to do better he needs to change the staff
straightforward and to the point
as a new resident of Phila. I was unsure and worried and Dr. Malz was comforting and reassuring.
Progressive
Dr. Malz is great. Extremely warm and easy to talk to. Excellent manner! The whole staff was great. From the receptionist to the Dr., the experience was a good one. I recommend this practice highly!
Good visit
the professional i was looking to meet
My first visit jury still out but he seems very nice asks good follow up questions.
concise and professional. This was my first visit, but so far so good. Seems generally concerned with my health and wellness and that is probably the most important thing. I waited about an hour to see the doc, but I don't think that's anything out of the ordinary as there were a few others there before me, and I am patient....
Very good doctor
Awful customer service skills...awful Doc
The doctor was very knowledgeable helping me understand and better care for my condition.
